Although it has been deleted, the remark by an Indian about skimpy clothing being banned in Saudi deserves a response.
The banning of veil in France and the illegality of skimpy, sluttish dressing in Saudi are not comparable for one main reason:
-Many women view the veil as an expression of their faith, and a necessity.
-in contrast, dressing like a slut is not part of anyones religion, and is not viewed as a necessity.
In conclusion, the miniskirt is offensive to most respectful human beings and goes against their morals, whereas the veil does not go against a society that prides itself on tolerances and freedom of expression.
I gave a classic example of 3 different UAE emirates. The post was deleted however the text can be found in post # 6 of Al-Zakir.
An Islamic country have different laws on dress codes in different emirates. Whats ur opinion on it?
