মিয়ানমারের নেত্রী আং সা সুচির নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার ফিরিয়ে নেয়ার জন্য অনলাইনে এক আবেদনে স্বাক্ষর করেছেন হাজার হাজার মানুষ। মিয়ানমারের সংখ্যালঘু রোহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যাপক মানবাধিকার লংঘনের ঘটনার ব্যাপারে কোন অবস্থান নিতে ব্যর্থ হওয়ায় তার নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার ফিরিয়ে নেয়ার আহবান জানানো হয় এই আবেদনে। চেঞ্জ ডট অর্গে এই আবেদনে ইতোমধ্যে সই করেছেন লক্ষাধিক মানুষ। ধারণা করা হচ্ছে ইন্দোনেশিয়া থেকে এই আবেদনটি জানানো হয়েছে।
আবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, "আন্তর্জাতিক শান্তি এবং ভ্রাতৃত্ববোধ রক্ষায় যারা কাজ করেন, তাদেরকেই নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারের মতো সর্বোচ্চ পুরস্কার দেয়া হয়। সুচির মতো যারা এই পুরস্কার পান, তারা শেষ দিন পর্যন্ত এই মূল্যবোধ রক্ষা করবেন, এটাই আশা করা হয়। যখন একজন নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার বিজয়ী শান্তি রক্ষায় ব্যর্থ হন, তখন শান্তির স্বার্থেই নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার কমিটির উচিত এই পুরস্কার হয় জব্দ করা নয়তো ফিরিয়ে নেয়া।"
উল্লেখ্য, রোহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদের ওপর মিয়ানমারে ধারাবাহিক নির্যাতনের ব্যাপারে আং সা সুচি তার নিশ্চুপ ভূমিকার কারণে সমালোচিত হয়েছেন। তিনি এমনকি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের রাষ্ট্রদূতকে এমন অনুরোধও জানিয়েছেন যেন রোহিঙ্গাদের এই নামে উল্লেখ করা না হয়।

চেঞ্জ ডট অর্গে সুচির নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার প্রত্যাহারের আবেদনের শুরুতে বিবিসির এক সাংবাদিক মিশাল হোসেন সম্পর্কে তিনি যে মন্তব্য করেছিলেন, সেই ঘটনারও উল্লেখ করা হয়। বিবিসির মিশাল হোসেনকে দেয়া এই সাক্ষাৎকারে আং সান সুচিকে রোহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদের সঙ্গে মিয়ানমারের আচরণ নিয়ে অনেক অপ্রিয় এবং কঠিন প্রশ্নের মুখোমুখি হতে হয়েছিল। ২০১৩ সালে ঐ সাক্ষাৎকারের পর নাকি আং সা সুচি মন্তব্য করেছিলেন, "ও (মিশাল হোসেন) যে একজন মুসলিম কেউ তো আগে আমাকে জানায়নি।"

আবেদনে বলা হয়, মিয়ানমারের গণতান্ত্রিক আন্দোলনের নেত্রী এবং নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার বিজয়ী আং সান সুচির মুখ থেকে যখন এরকম কথা শোনা যায়, তা তখন অনেককেই অবাক করেছিল।

ইন্দোনেশিয়া সহ বিশ্বের বহু দেশের মানুষ আং সান সুচিকে তার শান্তিপূর্ণ গণতান্ত্রিক আন্দোলনের জন্য শ্রদ্ধা করে একথা জানিয়ে এতে বলা হয়, কিন্তু তার এ ধরণের মন্তব্য বহু মানুষকে ক্রুদ্ধ এবং হতাশ করেছে। মিয়ানমারের মুসলিম সংখ্যালঘুদের ব্যাপারে সুচির মনোভাব আসলে কি, সে ব্যাপারে অনেক প্রশ্নের জন্ম দিয়েছে।
এতে বলা হয়, একজন নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কার বিজয়ীর মুখ থেকে যখন এরকম 'বর্ণবাদী' কথা শোনা যায়, তখন যে গণতান্ত্রিক মূল্যবোধ মানুষকে ভিন্ন বিশ্বাসের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে শেখায়, তা ভেঙ্গে পড়ে।

গত কয়েকদিন ধরে আমরা দেখছি বার্মায় অবস্থিত রোহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদের উপর অত্যাচারের মাত্রা বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে সে দেশের ক্ষমতাসীন সরকার । আমার আশা ও বিশ্বাস এরদোগানের মতো ক্ষমতাধর নেতা যদি আং সান সূচিকে সাবধান করে দেয় তবে সূচির মতো দুই আনার প্রধানমন্ত্রী দ্বিতীয়বারের মতো রোহিঙ্গাদের উপর হামলা করার সাহস দেখাবেনা । তাই এরদোগানের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণে তাকে ট্যাগ করে সবাই টুইট রি-টুইট করুন । আশা করি আমরা এর ফলাফল পাবো ইন শা আল্লাহ ।

Unfortunately real politics must rule.... I am against BD getting involved directly here...

however BD can take a lot of other actions -
1. should let in lots of foreign journalists, western embassy staff, UN and other NGO agencies in to create media awareness.
2. BD can also lobby Indonesia and Malaysia to take up matters via ASEAN.... simple to do as those countries are sensitive to the issues.
3. Have a quiet word with china who dictates policy in Burma as these disturbances are bad for business in the region
4. Speak to turkey and Saudi Arabia regarding the issue--- although these countries are sympathetic they have more pressing issues at the moment but they at the very least can assist us in raising the issue in the UN and IOC
5. Speak to the EU embassadors group to raise the issue in EU parliament

Whilst none the above issues will solve the problem, the issue will get a global spotlight. BD needs to link the word genocide and rohingya in UN and one hopes something can be done.

It's a terrible situation and the Burmese monkeys will reap what they sow. BD however should not take any direct action however hard it is to stand by and see such barbarity.

Obviously if BD was to get involved whilst maintaining deniability I would not have problem. Pandora's box once opened can not be shut as can be seen by pakistans action in Afghanistan or indias action in srilanka. Cost benefit analysis before any move but I suspect the cost of involvement would outweigh any benefit.

Myanmar Rohingya in Bangladesh for the UN refugee agency UNHCR has called for the border to open.

Myanmar, people fleeing from violence in Bangladesh has about the organization of the safety system.

Meanwhile, Myanmar's border with Bangladesh to monitor the border for more than three platoons have been deployed.

UNHCR in northern Rakhine State, Rohingyas in Myanmar issued a statement expressing deep concern about the situation. According to the rules in order to protect the people of Myanmar and called on the government there.

The UN refugee agency, UNHCR, has urged Myanmar to protect civilians in northern Rakhine state and appealed to the government of Bangladesh to allow safe passage to any civilians from Myanmar fleeing violence.

Bangladesh needs to seal our borders with Myanmar - not one more Rohingya. If the 'ummah' are feeling so sad for them...the Arabs or Pakistan can accept them as refugees and take them there.

All the Rohingya in Bangladesh have done is trade in drugs and crime.

Myanmar can do what they see fit with elements who seek to destabilize their country - completely an internal issue. I do however wish them luck - any country the Islamists have gotten a foothold in...has gone to hell.

So - be ruthless.

My request to Bangladesh government,pls close the border or else Myanmar might see this as a opportunity to push their people into our land.
