The Western Province is around 6 million people. Out of 20 million almost half live in/around Colombo so a lot of development is happening there.

But this is happening everywhere! The expressways reach every corner of the country, or are planned to. And the wartorn parts of the country are getting maybe more money than Colombo is at the moment (the North and East are the fastest growing provinces economically).

Thanks! I think we should have more of these threads from all countries in South Asia. It'll make the South Asia forum a lot nicer place than all the negative news we always see.

I love our expressway network project, all the island covered by 8 or 9 expressway projects. Government should give priority to other expressway projects too.

If I had to choose one type of infrastructure to build, it would be roads.
What use is a million tons of food if you cannot bring it to feed people?
What use is industry if products cannot be transported to be sold?
How are we going to build power stations if we cannot bring materials to build it with to the location?

Roads connect people to the city, preventing enclaves and increasing intergration. It brings trade and trade brings peace.
It makes more land accessible and usable, increasing the resources available.

It brings the services available typically only in cities to everyone! Medical, financial, educational, scientific, etc.

Roads build a nation!
