Bugti’s killing was a result of clash with state’s writ: Musharraf

Daily Times Monitor

LAHORE: Nawab Akbar Bugti’s death was the result of a clash with the writ of the state, former president Pervez Musharraf said on Tuesday.

According to a private TV channel, Musharraf said neither the president nor the chief of the army staff could give direct orders to the army and other law enforcment agencies on any particular issue and the allegations against him were baseless.

He said Akbar Bugti and his henchmen challenged the writ of the state and later took refuge in a cave. He said a four-member delegation of the army went into the cave to ask Bugti and his followers to lay down their arms. “It seems the cave collapsed which resulted in the death of Bugti and the four soldiers”, he said. He said billions of rupees were spent on the Gwadar port under his regime.

On of good he has done is killing Bugti well know agent for India. Take his comments every thing he said was a copy of what India said or wanted.

That is not the point. Firstly, you cannot credibly prove that Akbar bugti was on Indian pay roll. Secondly, in case of a killing where doubts have been expressed, it is the right of the heirs of the deceased to ask the court or even the government to open an enquiry. I see nothing wrong in that as long as everybody is willing to listen to the verdict of the enquiry board. The real problem is people ask for an enquiry and when it publishes its results, nobody wants to accept them. Point in case the cause of death of Benazir.
In this case i think musharraf will be exonerrated, but if by any stroke of imagination, he is proven guilty then he should pay the price for it as per the law of the land.
Bugti was a colourful character and a rogue amongsrt rogues. irrespective of who killed him, he will be missed for the flair of his personality. However, eventually I HUMBLY THINK HE DIED PALYING THE GAME HE KNEW WELL AND UNFORTUNATELY HIS LUCK WAS NOT WITH HIM.

Better would be to say, his luck ran dry after decades of giving him luck here and there.

Bugti was an indian agent and black mailer. There were many families who were enslaved by this morone. Before his death govt. tried to establish its writ due to increased attacks on engineers of local and foreign firms. and state infrastructure.
Govt. wanted to develop Balauchistan on fast track, similar to rest of Pakistan and tried to establish writ for the rights of common Balauchi.
Bugti attacked army posts and cantonments.
Bugti was biggest hurdle in the development of Baluchistan. Actually all politicians are hurdle in development of Pakistan, every one must be put in jail for life time.

Good riddance to Bugti, Musharaff did the right thing. He was too educated and too strong of a tribal leader, coupled with too much power in his hand and too many blind followers at his disposal. The likes of Mujib ur Rehman or Baitullah Mehsud however certainly not a terrorist. He was way too educated to believe in terrorism, he attacked gas pipelines and other property in Balochistan which he deemed were constructed on his property, throughly disputed by GOP. These tribal lords can be very good leaders but when they turn against you they can be very lethal.

I say one of the good things that musharraf did was that he killed Bugti. I say take all of his children and grand children and do the same.

major part of the problem are the tribal leaders like Bugti who once were Nawabs/agents of the British Colonialists. They claim ownership of much of the province and don't recognize Pak's sovereignty over it. They have enslaved poor populations and entire tribes under their command, they're very reluctant to change their attitudes let alone educating the masses they hold subservient to their interests.

How could GOP establish infrastructure there when the tribals won't allow them?

There shouldn't be any case involving Gen Musharraf or any other GoP official because as the President of Pakistan he wanted the provincial govt. to establish the writ of govt which was in shaterred after numerous attacks on govt. installations.

The provincial govt. asked for military support because Bugti tribesmen had heavy weaponory and police was no match. Military offered them to surrender or face action, some surrendered but most didn't. Amongst those who didn't surrender was Akbar Bugti who was killed along with officers and Janwans of PA when his cave gave in.

Last year Abdul Rehman decoit got killed in a police encounter, now should we bring IG Sindh under investigation? No sir, we can't do this.

This is another example of how our politicians, specifically Nawaz Sharif, waste GoP resources on settling personal vendettas.

The only investigation we need to initiate is about the crimes of Bugti, Murri, Mengal and Bazinjo chiefs.

I think we should wait for the court to decide!
We can give biased opinion as there are many pro army and pro politician people out there!

If Musharaf is not guilty than good for him..if he is than he should be treated like any other ishtehari!

Bugti was a nusiance just like many others I like musharraf because he helped us get rid of him.In 2004 when I was in Pakistan mentoring a few matric student there was a bugti in that group and he loathed Akbar because he did not let them open schools in his area. I think too much education is also bad especially in akbar bugti's case. For someone to question highups you need edusation knowledge and if he was able to deprive them off it then he was the defacto ruler.I am glad musharraf was having none of it and took this step.I wished he had got rid of this nuisance who now sits in presidents office.

Balochistan issue is already being discussed here http://www.defence.pk/forums/national-political-issues/12882-balochistan.html. Those who are serious to learn about the Balochistan problem may want to go through the thread; others are most welcome to continue exchanging rants in the language of the sailors (bazaari zubaan) while achieving nothing but exposing shallowness of their personality and making mockery of themselves. Good luck with your street fight.

You know this, good. When the right time comes, try to educate your kids. Stop taking pain for those who think they know everything. Albeit of all the truthfulness of Islam, even Muhammed (PBUH) could not succeed in making Abu Jahal (and alike) embrace Islam. Neither the spotless personality of the messenger nor the divine truthfulness of Islam could move certain people, right? Than who are me and you?

The main problem is that people in FATA region etc ppl like Mr Bugti ,
had militia a small army to terrorize any developmet effort or any move by Pakistani Gov to establish rule of law

What Mr Musharif did was he applied the rule of law to disarm Mr Bugti's associates and as such he perised in process, not different from any other crisis where Militia starts to go against the state

Every time gov tried to do something his rebels blew up developmet efforts or kidnapped engineers or kills engineers , meanwhile telling their local people that gov does not wants to help

Well the problem is when gov does tries to help they are met with bullets and every one gets afraid to travel to these tribal areas as they carry guns :what:
