Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday repatriated a Pakistan national, who had crossed over to the Indian Territory inadvertently, without registering a criminal case against him.

According to BSF, Pakistani national Rizwan (25), a resident of District Nankana Sahib, was apprehended by BSF at Border Out Post Roranwala on Indian side.

During questioning, Rizwan revealed that he had left his house due to some family disputes and inadvertently crossed the International Boundary.

Nothing objectionable except Pakistani currency Rs 50 was recovered from his possession, said an official.

Pakistani Rangers were contacted and he was handed over to them on humanitarian ground.

. . . . . .
For the benefit of the people who can't understand why some are shot on crossing the border while others are repatriated back by the BSF/IA in the Indo-Pak border:
why didnt blow him up just like the boat

I know you asked that with the intention to troll, but I'll use this opportunity to explain why some get the bullet and some get a free ride home.

Once a person is spotted on our side of the LOC/IB, An ambush party moves to intercept the intruder. (Because of the potential and very real threat of the intruder being a terrorist, an ambush is set up).

Once the intruder is at an ideal location for the intercept (read without any avenue for escape back to the other side), the person is challenged to surrender, alongwith instructions on how to act an move. They may use loudspeakers to ensure that the intruder hears the challenge.

If the intruder chooses to obey the instructions and surrenders, as in this case, the person survives. In case the person tries to flee, opens fire, or behaves in any manner deemed threatening to the ambush party, he is prosecuted.

Unfortunately a lot of civilians get frightened; confused and try to flee, leading to avoidable deaths. I believe there was a bit of discussion of implementing a 'fire if only fired upon' ROE, but was rejected because of the very high risk to the troops.

In case Indian soldiers inadvertently cross over into Pak controlled territory and are challenged by PA/Rangers, they are specifically instructed to obey the instructions and surrender. Pak apparently does not issue such instructions to its troops.
