Brown against brown: Pakistan's fairness complex

I am waiting for fallacious and stupid arguments like fairness creams to arrive :coffee: the sales volumes of which has no relation to any racism if any.

i am commenting about the message this thread is going to create in social and cultural section,

What message it will create other than asking people not be racist in real or virtual life?

You got a problem?

. .
WTH. Purchasing fairness creams has nothing to do with being racist. Stop mixing it up.

. . . .
Its individual prerogative to like or dislike a particular shades, its his/her right.

The problem starts when we try to superimpose our idea on others and start looking at people with disdain who dont fall under our beauty standards.

That's something that the big corporations like Nivea and Unilever do. They just want to make money. Fairness products don't sell well in Western countries.

In countries like China and Thailand, fairness products sell a lot. Surprising?

On this forum, I have seen people calling other as 5 ft kalia without even knowing them and just based on the perception looking at his flags. Blatant racism.

That's a different matter.

Do you think I've not seen racism from some of your countrymen, some Pakistanis and especially all those Burmese in this forum?

I've seen the stereotype that all Bangladeshis are very 'dark-skinned', which shows their complete lack of knowledge and character.

Well if it is like India then it is a sad day for humanity.

I worked here in the U.S. with someone from India whose parents were sending him pictures of potential brides.

He had this skin tone color chart to compare against their pics.
He'd ask my opinion and I'd just shake my head.

Its not my assertion, but a sarcasm on those who believe and dont shy away calling people 5 ft kalia based on nationality.

well we all do so if not calling someone kalia or anything like that we may mock someone for his nose/eyes etc etc.

it is just a human psyche

No !

People who use tanning or whiteness creams might be racists but racism is not why they purchase the creams !

Look, when you continuously make people sensitive toward their color and look toward them with disdain, they start trying to become more acceptable to society even if that means somehow changing their skin tone.

What can a girl do if she is repeatedly rejected for being darker by those racists and ones afraid of racists?

There are people who themselves are not racists, but want to marry a fair girl so that they can stand tall among racists (in majority).

The same psyche of mocking is being called racism.

If majority do so, that doesn't make it right. All are racists.

Depends on the region( Pak is multi ethnic country having blacks, browns and whites) and psyche of individual using fairness cream. Many brown people have this inferiority complex that they aren't beautiful because their skin color isn't white. A friend of mine having dark brown skin asked a dermatologist to suggest him some skin whitening creams.
And he is optimistic that those creams will actually work:p:

 our desi fugly men would love to have a physical relation with even a most ugly woman but for wives they need fair skinned ones as if their is any difference between physical chemistry of these women with different skin tone

That's what I am telling my friend @Providence.

In India and Pakistan, girls are victim of these racists. They are subtly forced to use measure to change their skin tone to have better chance in market of marriage and success.
