Name one place in South Asia that scores well by international standards. And take a look at the gender inequality index.

Holding women in high esteem is very different to allowing them to choose their own lives. There are differences in specific communities. Nairs of south india have matriarchal inheritance laws and men marry into their wives family. The north east in india too has a matriarchal system as do many other communities.

You need to come out of your West Bhakti. South Asia does much much better than any international standards. All major countries in SA have had women prime ministers, presidents, and in important posts. You wont find many Western countries doing that. Choosing your own life is a myth again. Are they choosing their lives or being manipulated by media into ruining their lives in the West? If 50% of the households are single parent households in the West which basically means women left to raise her kid alone by her numerous boyfriends/ex-husbands, do you think it was her choice?

I'm sure it happens but not to the extent of some countries..You can go to any forum about the subject and see

My point is these days other countries social problems are used like weapons. 30 British tourists raped in Spain, no news 1 British tourist molested in India, suddenly we are Rapists. Problems are going to exist, its not going away in a region which is this populated no matter what you do. All you can do is provide justice.

He is an anti-Indian fella. Nothing you say is going to make him be realistic about this issue. When he did not want SA to be generalized, what he meant was leave out Sri Lanka even though stats show Sri Lanka as having more criminality in almost every field than India.

Like i said.. I could'nt care less to point fingers at any one.. You may notice i hardly take part in these rape topics which are mostly troll threads.. Considering how low crime is in India and how low policing, these people should be ashamed of dragging India in again and again to feed their insecurity.

Terrorism in Kashmir is real, people in India have hardly seen a gun, let alone hold one and those terrorists come with AK-47s. Where do they come from ? There has been countless terrorist attacks in Kashmir.
