Britain sends over 100 elite troops to Ukraine

What option did Russia had? Allow NATO to sit on his border and continue to get blackmailed?
US was going to hit Russia by sanctions in one way or the other and Europe was hands in gloves with US against Russia.
Russia had plenty of options, now NATO is guaranteed going to sit on Russian borders because guess what? Other nations are near or border Russia, who are interested in NATO membership.

Russia should have negotiated. It should have accepted Ukrainian EU membership, but said no to NATO membership. Ukraine would have accepted this.

What are the plenty of options they had? And why did they fail to see to plenty of options?

Because Russia operates on a zero-sum game. That's how Russia has always been for hundreds of year's, from Tsarist rule to today.

Russia's geography is such that they fear a collapse of the state if they give in to even a single issue. The soviet collapse probably made that mentality even worse, as after various agreements with the west, the soviet union collapsed (honestly, it was Russia's own fault, but they blame the US for it), and Russian borders shrank massively when the Russian Federation declared independence.

Its all or nothing for Russia, because that's how they work. This is why Putin is now going after all of Ukraine, when the logical step was to take the rebel areas, declare victory and step back.

I also have to admit I was wrong about Putin not being stupid enough to take all of Ukraine. I thought Russian mentality had changed after Georgia, but it hasn't.

I literally named one of the options. What are you talking about?

when the logical step was to take the rebel areas, declare victory and step back

That option doesn't solve the security issue they are facing inflicted by NATO (mainly the USA).

That could have been avoided from the beginning, but Russia foolishly played its zero-sum game.

Do you purposefully ignore my comments?

No I don't ignore Your comments but your opinion is one sided. How could it be avoided when it's the nato that continued to expand right into Russia's uncomfortable zones. I don't think the US who you are barracking for would have a different response had Russia or China included Mexico into a military alliance and had the intention to station troops and missiles there.

You need to look at this impartially which I don't think you are doing .

Oh, because Russian actions in Georgia was all about peace and love.

It's funny when clearly bias people accuse outside observers who don't give a **** about who wins or loses of being bias towards one side.

Guess what? Ukraine never originally wanted to join NATO, they just wanted EU membership. NATO only came up when Russia started being aggressive.

And Russia only started being aggressive in 2013 when a regime change was conducted by the all wise and innocent USA and a US puppet was installed. Their nonsense has been Continuing for a long time.

P.S. Maybe discontinue with the expletives .

Oh yeah, because Georgia doesn't exist, right? Neither does Chechnya. Russia has never been aggressive in it's history, yup, sure.

Good job proving your bias.

As for expletives, welcome to the internet. So long as I'm not directing them at you, it's fine.
