Thanks for the detail, like I said earlier, I agree that Khazar dam should be the last in the list of Dams to be constructed..

People displaced are higher but probably will be lower per MAF or MW storage ...

again, why are we even discussing this..
katzara should be way down the list after we build dams worth 40-50 MAF water storage than we should talk about it

it can however be built if the capacity is dropped to 4MAF from max 23 MAF
as major towns will not be submerged ar 3-4 MAF
but again we have many options, also i dont like storing such a massive amount of water in one place, dams this massive have known to cause problems, including shifting unstable plates especially in such an active zone

this is an old document by today it would be nearly half a million which essential almost all the population of that region
if the same amount of population is displaced in another part its okay but to displace a whole region with whole different language, no i dont think so..

Honestly speaking, i am really a bit doubtful about the studies conducted decades ago. Dont you think (and everyone else) that a much more sensible way will be to conduct a fresh survey, find out dam sites as per current population settlements and then work on all this on war footings. I am a strong strong advocate, always crying pleading and fighting people about Bunji and Kalabagh dam however sometime i do feel that may be we need to conduct a fresh survey. Scan through the geograpgy of Pakistan even on google map and you will see that may be there are some places less controversial than Kalabagh where we can actually build a dam!

Har waqt k ronay dhonay and KUCH B NA KARNAY SA tu bahtir ha to start fresh, AT LEAST START!!
