Actually India insists on middle ground, independent policies. That was seen with Russia Ukraine war and diverging from US prompts for cooperation. India looks after itself first and plays the rest strategically based on events.

China wants India staying neutral or even working to oppose US global hegemony via economic warfare. India may be politically more close to US than china but what's important to china is that India acts in a way that undermines US economic interests. Which India has been doing for a couple of years. We shall see how the blocks come together in time.

As for Bangladesh. Perhaps bilateral agreements can offset BRICS membership.

I don’t know why China is blocking Bangladesh’ membership to BRICS. China always had problems with Bangladesh. During the 1971 war, they had vetoed Bangladesh’ entry to the UN. Also, China refused to recognize Bangladesh till 1975.

We would really like it if China and Bangladesh get along well and resolve all their outstanding disputes through bilateral talks. We want all our neighbors to have peaceful relationships.

You can get Yuan loans from the New Development Bank in China instead of loans in US Dollars from the IMF or World Bank.

You do not need to worry about Human Rights, Democracy or LGBTQ+ or increasing taxes or getting you funds sized by Western Banks.

Signing free trade agreements with our major trading partners is on the card. The main attraction of BRICS for a country like Bangladesh is the presence of China. Chinese soft loans via New Development Bank could be a game changer for Bangladesh's economy.
