Now I was going to post a pic of Delhi, but the thing is, I seen a lot of 2021 plans or something, and I don't want to post one that's too harsh, since I never been to Delhi and don't know whether that's a real pic or a recent pic or not, and I hate it when people use outdated info, so I'll leave it up to the Indian members.

If you think Delhi is anywhere close to Shanghai and if Delhi is really the best city to represent the emerging markets.
You realize even London looks no where close to shanghai still London is the biggest financial hub of the world housing most number of headquarters. Anyways Yes Shanghai is beautiful, but placing it in Delhi or Mumbai would have made no difference.

Everyone gave up something to reach this compromise.

India has the Presidency and Russia has the chairmanship, so they will have a greater influence on the most vital early decision making and policy.

China gets less influence on policy, but getting the location is more of a long-term bet.

Brazil and South Africa are generally less involved in global politics, so they will be happy with other types of concessions, for example in the currency fund.

Investment needs to be in growing markets like stable countries of Latin america and africa. I am sure investment in pakistan will also be done once the security situation improves.... If pakistan presents itself as a good investment market, I don't think there should be an issue to fund infrastructure in Pakistan too.... As brics has China and India, If India has any reservations about pakistan, I am sure china can negate it. it's upto SA, Brazil and Russia.

Sir China is already investing $35 billion in next 4 years in Pakistan just for Pak-China corridor. But we need financial backing for Bhasha Dam 4500mw which will cost $14 billion.

Pakistan proposes new multilateral body PRICS to reshape world order | The UnReal Times

Pakistan has proposed the formation of PRICS – a grouping of Pakistan, Russia, Iran, China and Saudi Arabia – to reshape the global economy and formulate a new world order in the 21st century. Accordingly, a proposal has been mooted to hold the first summit in Abbottabad on 02-May-2013 based on the theme “Boosting growth in the terrorism sector: challenges for the next decade” in memory of Osama Bin Laden who had single handedly done more than anyone else to undermine Western hegemony.

Making the idea of this coalition public for the first time, a spokesman for Pakistan’s external affairs said that all the countries have given an in-principle approval for the formation of the coalition. Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) is also learnt to have shown an interest in joining the coalition to form PRICKS . However, it is currently only being considered for observer status. Indonesia also wanted to gain entry into the club, but Pakistan blocked its entry because a) of its allergy to anything remotely Indian and b) more importantly, the new acronym would have been phonetically awkward.

According to the figures(all figures hereafter) supplied by Katju Global Research Foundation, PRICS covers 25% of world’s geographical area, constitutes 90% of world’s citizens-without-rights, 80% of world’s illegal weapons trade, 53% of World’s Gross Black Money and 72% of world’s counterfeit goods. The group also lays claim to Arctic Ocean, South China Sea and parts of Indian Ocean. Between the five countries, the bloc holds counterfeit foreign-currency reserves of $650 billion and needs institutional backing to safeguard the illicit money. An idea is also being mooted for extending credit facility in counterfeit Dollars, Euros and Pounds under PRICS Interbank Cooperation Mechanism.

The PRICS charter proposes advocacy in the following areas:

  • Comprehensive reform of the UN Human Rights Council: The bloc wants UNHRC to be abolished as they believe any international institution advocating human rights impinges upon the states’ authority to restrict their citizens’ rights and thus, their sovereignty. The bloc also strongly condemns the international demands for minorities’ rights and sees it as attempts by democracies to destabilize their societies. Pakistan went as far as even denying the presence of minorities and consequently maintaining that the question of rights for them does not rise.
  • Banning the Internet outright: PRICS would also like to play a leading role in curbing Internet freedom and is evolving new standards in this regard. Many PRICS nations strongly supports the freedom to express ideas as long as the ideas are of those of the government. They were pleased to receive the support of some sections of the Indian Government and some prominent TV anchors in this regard.
  • Countering bogus climate change propaganda: PRICS also wants the world to stop spreading the rumours about climate change. The bloc accounts for 70% of World’s oil production and 80% of natural gas and China is now the world leader in burning fossil fuels. PRICS feels that all claims of climate change are canards spread by developed countries to destroy their economies and halt their rise to preserve the status-quo.
  • Reforming multilateral proliferation control bodies: PRICS accounts for 80% of world’s illegal weapons trade and this trade within the PRICS bloc swelled to $78 billion last year and could reach $100 billion by 2015. The bloc plans to use its clout to demand that PRICS as an entity be given full membership of the four multilateral export control regimes – NSG, MTCR, Australia Group and the Wassenaar Arrangement – so that they can access technologies from the other members and demand easing of export controls on them so that they can carry on their illegal trade. Pakistan also wants terrorism to be recognized as a legitimate economic activity and included under services in the computation of national GDPs.
  • World nuclear bank to facilitate nuclear proliferation: Iran also proposed setting up of a PRICS Nuclear Bank to lend nuclear weapons and related technologies to the nuclear-weapon-developing countries and break the monopoly of developed-nuclear-weapons states. The PRICS Bank will cater to developing world interests and will symbolize a great military union. Pakistan wants PRICS to recognize every sovereign nation’s right to peaceful nuclear first-use policy.
However, there are already cracks appearing in PRICS after Pakistan insisted that the grouping discuss Kashmir and Kashmir alone to the exclusion of other pressing geo-political issues, much to the chagrin of other PRICS members.

. . . . . .
What is the guarantee India wont do that? If Pakistan needs help from BRICS bank in financing the Basha Dam, India will be against it for sure with your old argument that the dam is in disputed territory.
The bank is for all developing countries. It is not for just our friends or china's friends or Russian friends or Brazilians or South Africans.

It is to rid the countries off IMF hegemony.

.
Could someone please explain how the BRICS bank will differ from the IMF? What benefit will it bring over the IMF? Does the bank pave the way for a new reserve currency?
