Kashmir is such a beautiful place and kashmiris deserve better; peace after decades of conflict and suppression.

But now, finally after decades, I see someone (from our cricket days, Imran Khan,) who seems reasonably sane; a chance at peace?

The Russians are throwing out these Pie in the sky claims to wean Turkey away from the US orbit, but at the end of the day their ability to deliver is nowhere close to what the US already has in terms of the F-35.

While i generally agree with you, i think what you're ignoring or excluding is the fact that most countries now dont buy weapons based off 1 criteria-good quality. Political alignment, local requirements, price, regional alliances, future outlook etc all factor in. I guess all i'm trying to say is that US having good quality weapons isnt enough to make it a good choice for a country like Turkey.

As a matter of fact, Turkey doesnt want US weapons because they obviously come with conditions or dynamics that tie Turkey's hands regionally and Turkey doesnt want that anymore. Turkey is obviously a matured regional power and is showing the world that it is that and the time for it is here.

The Americans never share ToT. Never.

And maybe that is the reason for reducing % of weapons sales by the US MIC. China, Russia, EVEN Pakistan are all increasing their market share in the global defense industry.

Also, US weapons only seem to work wonders only when they are used by IDF and US army..just saying...

The West may be filled with idiots like John Bolton and random neo cons who make claims provided by arms industry and lobbies to make excuses that Russia is a Soviet Union 2.0,Russia and Sino cooperation is based on Russia being cast away from the west by ridiculous meddling in Ukraine,Georgia and other post Soviet States otherwise Russia would see China more in a negative or perhaps transactional relation than a close one Beijing has to understand if Trump hands were not tied by the idiotic Congress and the arms industry Moscow would be with west countering China

Exactly end of the day it's all geo politics and money boils down to heck South Korea has very robust defense devlopment relations with the Russians good example for Turkey regarding dealing with JVs,and weapons dealing from two rivals

Yeah India is slowly but surely "abandoning" the long institutionalized policy of neutrality been doing it for it whole since post 91 order but BJP has accelerated the process I see in the next decade US balancing ties with Pak and India for differing roles Pak will be used for Afghanistan and India to counter the juggernaut China

Realpolitik is the game. Pakistan and India is something the Muricans cannot lose.

Moral of the story is always make your own stuff. Never be dependant on another country for your defence.

Americans and their weapon sales and exports all come with strings attached.

Only a dumb fool will constantly buy and buy. The saudis are gonna learn the hard way especially since they are dependant on US arms. That money they have should be used to decrease dependance.

Even America improves the relationship with Russia, they will not be too close, then Europe and Russia will compromise, NATO becomes unnecessary, America's ally system moves from NATO to five eyes. And America will not buy Russia's oil gas agricultural products weapons, no one can defeat Russia by military means, but the economy can. Finally, if China collapses America will come back to deal with Russia.

America's best choice is to make asiaeuro fragment and fight each other, for China, Russia, Europe, Muslim countries is to let American go home.
