LAHORE (Dunya News) – The session court of Lahore hearing Model Town tragedy case on Saturday ordered to book Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for the casualties of Minhajul Quran workers that took place on June 17 in Model Town Lahore, Dunya News reported.
The court ordered to file charges against the key accused including the named police officers.

Note: This is a developing story and will be updated as details arrive.

This is the first sign of build-up of pressure on PML(N) from dharna. As I pointed out earlier, when thousands of people come to streets in the capital of a country and start protesting, government cannot perform and will be forced to address the concerns.

Greatest issue for PML(N) is that it doesn't have moral ground in this entire situation, Model Town and Gujranwala blunders have weakened its position.

Model Town tragedy: Court rules case be registered against Nawaz, Shahbaz and 19 others
By Dawn.com

LAHORE: A sessions court in Lahore on Saturday ordered registration of murder charges against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and 18 others over the violence that took place in Lahore's Model Town in the month of June, DawnNews reported.

The court directed Station House Officer (SHO) Faisal Town to register cases against the accused persons and ordered that a report should be presented before it after completion of the said.

At least eleven PAT workers were killed and over 100 people were injured in the June 17 clash between police and PAT workers in Lahore's Model Town.

A report in Dawn also quoted sources as saying that the Punjab government was keeping the report of the judicial commission on the Model Town incident secret, but according to hearsay it pinned the blame solely on police.

Meanwhile, Shahbaz was meeting the premier at his Raiwind residence shortly after the court's order.

Sources said the two were discussing the overall situation in the country as well as the court's decision.

No official word has yet been issued from either the prime minister or the Punjab chief minister's offices regarding the court order.

PM, Federal Ministers, Ministers of state, Governors, CMs, provincial ministers enjoy impunity under Article 248 Constitution of Pakistan.

Clarity: Session Court directs police to check if murder case against PM, CM Punjab, Rana Sanullah, Hamza Shehbaz & Saad Rafique should be filed.

@Chak Bamu, need to change thread title.

Model Town clashes: Sessions court orders cases be registered against PM, Punjab CM
LAHORE: A sessions court has ordered that cases be registered against 22 people, including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, over the June 17 Model Town clashes, Express News reported.

Around 14 PAT supporters were killed and over 80 were injured in the deadly clashes between the police and PAT workers.

The court gave its verdict on Saturday on an application filed by the secretary of Minhajul Quran, the organisation founded by Dr Tahirul Qadri, who is also the chief of PAT.

The court has also ordered cases to be registered against former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah and former principal secretary Dr Tauqir Shah.

Earlier, a one-man judicial commission formed to probe into the incident also submitted its verdict to the Lahore High Court and held provincial departments responsible for the incident.

However, no single department was specifically held responsible by judicial commission, while any action is yet to be taken against the departments mentioned in the report.

Earlier on June 20, following the Model Town incident, Shahbaz Sharif removed Sanaullah and Dr Tauqir Shah from their posts.

“To ensure fair and transparent investigation of the incident, we have decided to remove Rana Sanaullah from his post,” Shahbaz had said.

Nothing will happen, session court is like a joke for Ganja brothers; I hope they don't attack as they did with supreme court.
Apparently someone else is blaming courts to be sell outs....You know who ;)

Who ever gave order is enemy of N, seem like Rana Sanaullah sold out to army/isi.

Now as Q league is also backing off after the miserable failure of Azadi march. TuQ will never achieve anything by being peaceful, I have a feeling that he would also declare "Mubarik ho, Mubarik ho" on a broader judicial or third party inquiry.
