Algeria does not intend to ease off its decision to sever diplomatic relations with Morocco. According to the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra, “thinking of any initiative, whatever its nature, is considered reductive and superficial, and does not realize, but ignores the entire responsibility of Morocco in the chronic deterioration of bilateral relations ”.

“The decision to sever diplomatic relations is not the subject of discussion or deliberation as a sovereign, final and irreversible decision,” Ramtane Lamamra said on Saturday September 11 to those who campaigned for the introduction of the issue. on the agenda of the next summit of the League of Arab States, to be held in Algiers, the Algerian capital.

“The sovereign and strict decision of Algeria came in view of serious and continuous violations by Morocco of the fundamental obligations which govern relations between the two countries”, accused Ramtane Lamamra. Therefore, it is clear that the severing of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Morocco will not appear on the agenda of the next summit of the League of Arab States.

Recall that last August, in response to an exit from the kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN, showing Morocco’s support for the ‘valiant Kabyle people’, Algeria decided to sever diplomatic relations with its neighbor. In addition, Algiers criticized Rabat for having authorized Israel to throw spikes at it from the kingdom.
