New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today had lunch in Parliament and picked up a tab of Rs. 29.
In a rare move today, PM Modi decided to sample lunch at the canteen in Parliament where MPs can have heavily subsidized meals. He reportedly ordered a vegetarian thaali or platter, featuring Saag, salad, Dal and curry.
Two Gujarat MPs kept him company at lunch. PM Modi later signed the visitor's book and wrote a comment thanking the "Annadata (provider)."
The Parliament canteen is among the cheapest eateries in the country; lawmakers and even journalists can have a hearty meal for an eye-popping Rs. 12. The costliest dish is a plate of chicken biryani, which costs Rs. 34.

Corruption and VIP culture has reached a new high in India. Why is Modi spending our tax Rs. on food? Time for Arbind Kejriwal to do dharna.
