I will be honest here.

Before this, I actually thought the cable didn't contain anything too damning or too suggestive or demanding, and IK and PTI were using it to their advantage and making a mountain out of a molehill.

But now, sab kay sab hamari hakoomat main haramzaday hain. Fully stand by IK's stance now.

The cable was always going to be something touchy, you can see that with the way the FO and Establishment were so hard-pressed in preventing any sort of leak of its contents. Now I'll be real with you, it still doesn't corroborate PTI's original statement where an external power is orchestrating his removal. It's a candid viewpoint of the US diplomat on the trajectory of US-Pak relations at the time.

The establishment was the one who ousted Imran, let's not scapegoat others and focus on them.

What part of this is propaganda? Niger's current ruler is General Abdourahamane Tchiani and the other military Junta's are in the throes of militancy, e.g Mali. They are experiencing one of the biggest increases in terrorist attacks globally with the trend continuing unabated. Niger is likely to fall into the same as time goes on.

People have a highly exaggerated view of this whole damn Cypher issue. A note by a Pakistani diplomat based on his conversation with a low level American official becomes a death-note for Imran Khan govt. Wow!

A diplomatic demarche was issued--and such cyphers and demarche are quite common between countries.

It was a non-issue to begin with. Imran sat on the Cypher for three weeks and just before the NCM became a certainty and there was no escape he decided to publicly use the 'cypher' to garner support from the anti-American Pakistani populace. And it worked!!

The people were waving Russian flags in support of the coup. I don’t have a side in Niger, but you can tell the institutions are trying to get their guy back.

It's not a claim this is a fact seen in Mali which is the poster boy and inspiration for the Niger coup. Fact is Military government are inept and cannot focus on military affairs efficiently due to a diversion of resources. This infographic shows just last year. This also ignores the fact that this junta forcefully imposed itself without first asking the consent of the people via a vote.

I do not think so. At least for the way TTP is really blasting everywhere since IK is went out of power, the May 9th incident is literally nothing. Basically, US would like to keep Pakistan within its orbit of influence to have a successful diplomatic influence in Asia due to its location. Pakistan's military is already on board with US since independence. IK tried to change too much within Pakistan in a short span of time. That is why, I mentioned that IK lost his power due to his immaturity in planning his action. He tried to change few things which is red line for Pak Army since its independence. Pak Army do not want any civil admin to have any role with respect to its foreign policy and in specific Pak - US/West and Pak - India...IK should have waited for this term to establish his control and then ventured out to outsmart Army in the next turn.
