It is the end goal that matters. I can also point out dozens of Western claims that haven't materialised. Should we start labelling Western governments as liars? In the end, Russia fulfilled its promise of capturing Bakhmut. Russia deserves praise for doing what it promised.

You obviously weren't checking the main threads about the war last year.

Losing a soldier is normal. Losing a few is expected. Losing a lot is bad. Having soldiers not joining because of how terrible the reputation of your officers and progress is...that means you've lost many enough. And that was months ago. Imagine the losses now. You don't want to think about soldier losses? Ok. Think about the amount of equipment the Russians have lost in the conflict.
