After the successful Season 2 of PSL ,Now there is a good news for football fans.

Sources claimed that Ronaldinho (ambassador of Spanish team Barcelona ) will visit Pakistan to play an exhibition match in Karachi,Pakistan.

The 36-year old ambassador of the Spanish football club Barcelona has confirmed his availability to visit Pakistan for the match, according to the report.

It, however, didn’t mention date of the match and it was also not immediately clear which teams would be playing.

Ronaldinho has played 97 matches and scored 33 goals for the Brazil national team. He was an integral part of the 2002 FIFA World Cup-winning team in Korea and Japan, starring alongside Ronaldo and Rivaldo in an attacking trio, and was named in the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team.

Pakistan recently hosted final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore in an effort to resume international cricket which came to a halt after deadly militant attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009.

The PSL final was the highest level game played in Pakistan since the attack on Sri Lankan team.

Leisure Leagues has set Pakistan a date with the Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho, who will be visiting the country soon.

The 36-year-old is a 2002 World Cup winner with his national team and is known for his great achievements during his club career with the likes of Barcelona and Paris-Saint Germain.

Ronaldinho is reportedly going to participate in an exhibition match in Leisure Leagues Pakistan’s attempt to promote football in the country.

Pakistan national football players, including Kaleemullah, captain Hassan Bashir and women’s team captain Hajra Khan, hailed the launch of the Leisure Leagues in Pakistan.

“Leisure Leagues is a very positive step as it will help unearth players who can represent Pakistan in the future,” Kaleemullah told The Express Tribune. “We desperately need a league system as that would help groom the youth into professional footballers.”

Leisure Leagues is a UK-based organisation which holds five-a-side, six-a-side and seven-a-side leagues in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and USA.

The organisation has been active for the past 25 years and its president Tim Ollerenshaw revealed that they have plans to launch their operations in Pakistan from next year.

The leagues structure is such that it is not limited to just attracting professional players; it will try to rope in anyone who wants to play football, and this is an aspect which excited Pakistan midfielder Muhammad Adil the most.

“The best thing is that anyone can play these leagues and that will give a lot of opportunities to many people to showcase their skills,” he said.

More details to follow soon…

Is there any football league going on in Pakistan? :undecided:

I still have doubt that this news is true

If Pakistan wants to climb in international rankings just send 11 youths from Liyari and see Pakistan's ranking climb but of course that can't happen, paindus have taken over football in Pakistan and have involved it with corruption and favouritism.

Nice gesture , hopefully Pak Army follows this story closely. This man is a legend , and I am a Real Madrid fan

Pakistan football , as it exists now is more played with certain mentality which is , Kick and run, and kick it high as possible. There is general lack of "Technical" touches on the ball.

Also there is fundamental lack of knowing how to defend a 1/2 play by more technical teams.

Folks think by merely bringing a coach for players aged 24-30 and giving them training 2-3 times in year they can change the level played at international level are certainly day dreaming. As Soccer , similar to Hockey demands high level of fundamental level training on individual skills and team based technical skills. Ideally suited for age 10-18 , and then age 18-23 (In a Professional League) involving daily trainings.

Liyari (Small town) is certainly like Baluchistan (Province) is Hub for Football Talent in Pakistan certainly both regions deserve , 50-60 Artificial Turf Pitches for local talent , which does not requires heavy watering or day to day care to help sport in Pakistan

But as far as the visit go , certainly a great Tribute to the soccer fanatics in Liyari who certainly see themselves as Ronaldinho's biggest fans outside of Brazil
