Brazil builds nuclear submarine to patrol offshore oil

For Diesel Subs ,yes it is too noisy. But about INS Arihant .that was a nice joke.Still most influential Think Thanks in India cant get a decent picture of INS Arihant. All they got is a low resolution old picture. And you are saying you got it acoustic signature. They dont even deploy for full time operation.
And our govt is not that dumb to spend 25 years and lot R&D ,money for developing Nuclear Subs.

. .
The Indian subs are very, very loud, sitting ducks for any decent sonar equipped navy, we have already got their acoustic signature.

Referring to their so-called "indigenous" nuke sub.

Pls do enlighten us with your info regarding nuke sub which you are referring to being "Very very loud"/You being in possession with the acoustic Signature.

. .
so conventional subs cant be retrofitted to carry nuclear tipped missiles?

Theoretically they can, and it is said that Chinese Type 39-B sub can accommodate 3 SLBMs but they are not true secondary strike platforms because they don't have long enough endurance to stay at stations or patrol specific area and they lack strong fire power.

Well, whatever your position on that, it sure wasn't made abroad.

LOL. You are referring to Kilo class subs? The ones always touted as 'black hole'' stealth submarines? So, either they are quiet and deserving of those names, or they aren (in which case the value of such label is debunked)
