Chinese market used to be dominated 100% by Chinese own products in 1950's and 1960's , glad to see finally India wants to take the same path.

Starting from the late 1980's and 1990's foreign products started to flood the Chinese market ,many Chinese factories went bankruptcy and tens of millions of people were being laid off ,unemployment was super high and that's the time some celebrities started to appeal to the Chinese people to boycott foreign products to protect Chinese domestic industry., A big debate was raging on in China "Globalization will help or hurt China" . the Chinese people were fiercely divided on the "open door" policy but the government did't budge and insisted that's the only way to save China's industries and businesses. That's the growing pain China suffered for at least a decade and in the end the dying dragon rose up from the ashes.

"China returns boycott salvo
Charu Sudan Kasturi
New Delhi, Oct. 27: China today cautioned that even an informal "boycott" of the country's goods in India could hit future investments and hurt Indian interests more than its own, amid social media campaigns urging Diwali shoppers not to buy products from that country."

Only drama queen Indian media likes to use the word " warning" . What China does is just a polite way to tell India that China can also do that to you, it has consequences. whether a real war or a trade war the result will both hurt India much much more due to the fact that India's share in China's overall trade is tiny, less than 2%, China can easily cover that by expanding to other continents or countries while China is India's No.1 top trading partner, who rely on whose trade more is something goes without saying.
I will appreciate if they do not invest. Please tell your leaders to not invest in India. We do not need investment from people supporting terrorist.

We are just supporting what or who we believe is right. India is nothing to us. Don't think much of yourself. Fair enough. let's have a trade war. That's what the Chinese government actually mean to say . Let's wait and see who suffer more, the tiny Indian trade with China is negligible at best.

Dude its sheer perception that you think India will suffer. If possible please explain.

India will suffer only if China can supply and no other countries there to trade with India.

Yourself also mentioning that Indian trade contributes tiny to your economy, then why bother.

I don't really bother ,I am just amused by this action which we Chinese people also did a decade or so ago, which we now think it extremely stupid. I don't really care about the boycotting itself, it doesn't affect China the slightest, I m more curious about the mentality behind this. As you can see I am the only Chinese PDF user discussing this with you and all other Chinese members don't even bother to put in a word cause it's just worth nothing. I m just shocked not by the boycotting but how immature the Indian general public are.

Well then be like other Chinese members, ignore this thread if you don't really bother.

Peace all.

USA and others are,When it comes to High tech Machinery as you say? Most Chinese Doctors prefer Western or European Machinery instead of Chinese made ones,Buddy i lived in China and know Your Medical sector very well. Why doesn't your Chinese Hospitals buy Chinese Medical products instead of buying Western Medical products?
The answer is Quality!

Do you know about the RED ENVELOPE?
In Medical care your Doctors get or the patients who come with their gifts?

China is not there yet to beat your chests up in terms of producing Quality Medical Equipment.
Your own Chinese Citzens suffer from Cancer and you Import your Drugs from West,Instead we in India make our own Generic Drugs, affordable to our citizens.

I know many Doctors in China,(Don't call them Unpatriotic as they were very sad with all those patients dying and families who cannot afford such medicine) who prescribe Indian Generic Drugs to save the Chinese patients( especially in cancer) who could not pay the heavy cost of Medicines Western Drug companies sell them.

So don't think of yourself as some Country who views us as dirt poor, i know your reality in China. :yahoo:
You in your eagerness to APE Western Nations, threw away everything you had as a Culture, starting from Mao's Cultural Revolution.

You had Arranged Marriages before,Now you do Love marriages,Well only the big Business houses in China do Arranged Marriages now.

You never visit your Parents home other than Chinese New year holidays! While our Indian Parents stay with us always in our House as the Master of the House and we all obey their rules.:enjoy:
You guys lost your sense of Family! When a Family structure is lost in a nation,so does the Nation loses.

I really doubt about which part of China we went, totally nonsense, without mentioning China again and again I would think that you were talking about US.

Boycott China movement will fizz out unless Indians start boycotting phones, laptops and other electronics from Xiaomi, LeEco, Lenovo, Vivo etc.

I dont see that happening soon.

With the sky remaining overcast all through the day, cracker-sellers frantically wooed customers by offering a huge discount of up to 70 per cent in the initial stage itself to complete the sale quickly, fearing a wet spell in the next two days.

Usually discounts are offered only on the Diwali day to clear the stocks, says a shopkeeper T. Vadivelu, who has sourced the crackers mainly from Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu.

However, the ever-increasing prices of crackers left the buyers fuming. “The prices of crackers have been jacked up by 20 to 30 per cent compared to last year,” said a school teacher who has come with his two adamant sons keen on buying as many crackers as possible.

Shopkeeper Srinivasulu attributed the hike in cracker prices to an increase in the cost of inputs for the manufacturers. “Even though crackers from China offer a profit margin of 500 per cent, we don’t market them. All our crackers are sourced from leading manufacturers in Sivakasi like Standard Fireworks, Ayyan Fireworks, Rathnaa Fireworks, Vadivel Fireworks, another shopkeeper Venkat Rao added.

Roaring business

Vendors selling earthen lamps made a roaring business as women made it a point to light traditional oil lamps in rows to appease goddess Mahalakshmi.

According to popular belief, the goddess of wealth visits well-illuminated houses to shower her blessings on the Diwali day, an occasion when special pujas are performed to the goddess as also to Kubera, the Lord of wealth.

Prakasam District Ex-Servicemen Abhivruthi Sangham functionaries led by its honorary State president Neppalli Nageswara Rao maintained a vigil to prevent any sale of crackers from China. Any information relating to sale of smuggled Chinese crackers could be passed on to Assistant Commissioner J. Rajasekhar Reddy by calling 9866021340.

Banning import and sale of Chinese firecrackers has had little or no effect on domestically made crackers as traders across major cities report poor business owing to anti-cracker campaigns run by schools, resident welfare associations (RWAs) and others noted an ASSOCHAM survey-cum-analysis. The ASSOCHAM interacted with firecracker wholesalers, retailers, traders in 10 cities of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow and Mumbai to gauge the enthusiasm and demand for firecrackers together with impact of ban on Chinese crackers across India.

“Banning Chinese firecrackers was a welcome move which was aimed at strengthening the domestic industry, however growing criticism of bursting firecrackers and all the negative publicity together with rising air and noise pollution have eventually faded the growth of firecracker industry across India,” said Secretary general of ASSOCHAM, DS Rawat.

“There are about 800 licensed firecracker making units in Sivakasi where this industry accounts for a market size of about 2,500 crore which has been facing heat from China’s influence that has grown by leaps and bounds during past few years,” he added.

India contributes just a measly 2% to China's exports, but China accounted for 357.63 INR Billion in Q2 2016 to India's imports- and is India's num 1 largest partner. For comparison, India imported 99.10 INR Billion from the US in the same quarter.

The average Indian can only afford to buy mostly Chinese goods- from low-quality cheap toys to high-quality smartphones and solar panels.

Hence by your own reckoning, Indians will indeed suffer if China stops its supply to india.
