What's new

Bosnia-Herzegovina

That is some awesome fishing!! I love to hunt also. During deer hunting season, we regularly travel to the Hot Springs Arkansas area. I usually save and share the deer meat with friends and family. It is delicious. :-) You live in a beautiful country!

I agree with you. Deer meal is one of the most delicious. I am not a hunter but I have assisted several time my oncle who is professional(he is also giving foods to the animals during winter). And it's cool activity. It's not just about running arround and killing animals like many people think:-). It's much more than that.

Due to the fact this is not a very populated country there is a lot of untouched nature and you can still find wild animals like a wolf, wild cats, or bear. As far as I know there +-600 bears in the country and times to times it's allowed to kill some beer as well. Just to keep the population stable. Otherwise this animal is protected.

We are on the forum where the military/defence is main subject of discussion so I will add this on the topic as well. I have recommanded to you the city of GORAZDE. This is the city where you have some factories which are producing ammunition and some others millitarw stuff.

Here you have a short documentary. This guy from US went to GORAZDE and visited this company. But at the first place went hunting with the locals. :triniti:

This is part one. You can watch parts 2-3-4 where they are also showing the factory and production itself.

You can still try to vist the factory as well.

I think each country has something to show. We do not have big cities so if someone is looking for lot of scyscrapers like in Dubai this is not the good place. We do not have see coast neither. Nothing similar to Miami coast.

But the wonderfull untouched nature, river, lakes and montains. Good and and healthy food and due to the fact it's somehow the meeting point betwen the east and west world and the fact we have been occupied by various Empire there is a lot of monuments from various cultures.

Well to be honest my friend, I will not say all the NATO and UN did in Bosnia is bullshit but 95% of it is. Basically this didn't changed anything for us.

At that very moment we didn't need any support from NATO or whoever. We just needs weapons but we had an embargo on it. We could even not buy it.

However back to present

Last week a big joint venture contract have been signed between the bosnian company Imres Smart and turkish company "Enprode" Yuksel Guler" to build a wind farm and reversible hydroelectric plant. Total invesment 1.6 billion of euros. This is supposed to be the biggest one in South East Europe

The place where is supposed to be

Yes those days was difficult days and Pakistan helped Bosnia secretly and after anti tank missiles shifted, Bosnia start winning again and then only NATO jumps in and asked both for cease fire

Now that's the kind of town I would love to visit! :-)

I tried to send you private message but not sure this work out

@_Bosniak_ When will Bosnia be part of EU?

@_Bosniak_ When will Bosnia be part of EU?

This is hard to say. There is no fixed date yet. You have 3 majors ethnic groups in Bosnia. Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. Bosniaks are absolute majority.

After Dayton peace agreement the country became very difficult to rule. Before the country was a Republic. One man =on voice, one president... But after the Dayton peace agreement many other entities where set up and this is provocating a lot of complications. You must have concensus between the entities and ethnic groupes.

The Serbs(orthodox) are anti NATO oriented and pro Russian so they are blocking whatever they can. Basicaly they are working for Serbia and not for the country in which they are living in (Bosnia). Their lider is on the US black list.

See below
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-sanctions-bosnia-dodik-idUSKBN1512WI

Same for the Croats. They are working for Croatia and not and for the country in which they are living in (Bosnia).

This is one part. The second part is that EU is political project. So if Brussels really want Bosnia in, this could happen as from tomorrow. Bosnia is small country with 3.5 millions of habitants and could easily be absorbed in EU without any major waves.

For exemple Bulgaria and Romania where absorbed to EU and that time from economical point of view the situation was really bad. But it was political decision. Same for NATO The goal was to take them of from Russia influence

But somehow Bosnia is on the way to EU. Bosnians can travel in EU without visa during 3 months. It's not so difficult to work in EU with Bosnian nationality. You can get easily a working permit in Germany or Austria. Students can go in EU ect...

I can see you are from Pakistan. Lately their is lot of migrants going via Bosnia to EU. But their is more and more of them who are expressing the wish to stay in Bosnia. I think many of them had another idea of Bosnia due to the war. But once they are in, they see it differently. This is a nice country

Here you have an article with one guy from Punjab.

Hi,

It depends in which city and on which period. What kind of accomodation, how long you will stay...

But here we have the average

The most expensive is in Sarajevo

Hotel in center of the city: Average 60-80€/night. This is for top comfort hotel.
But I know hotels with 3 stars for 30-40€/night with BF.

You have also hostels or appartments renting. This is cheaper.

The food is cheap. The previously mentioned cevapcici are betwen 3 and 5€. Depending on the city.
You can in eat in restaurant for +-10€/person .
Espresso = 1€

One other good thing in the capital is the taxi. There is a lot of taxi and very cheap.

If you are interested you can drop me short private message and I will put you in contact with my friend and you can explain her what you would like to see and she can arrange you accomodation and tours as per your wish. She can provide you car + driver and he can drive you to the place you would like to visit. :)

You have the 4 seasons. It means that there is always snow during the winter and sun during the summer.
The best period is between may and october. The temperature is between 20-35°C

But Herzegovina is the south region and the weather is like in Barcelona. It means much more sun than in the north part. So during the summer the temperature can go close or even over 40°C.

The Serbs(orthodox) are anti NATO oriented and pro Russian so they are blocking whatever they can. Basicaly they are working for Serbia and not for the country in which they are living in (Bosnia).

This was exactly my impression, after knowing so many Bosnian Serbs for long time.

Cevapi (or cevapcici as a local restaurant of mine names it) is delicious. Juciest kebab I have had.

In original form, Cevapi is served with pepper paste (red) and cucumber pickle but without rice.

.

This is because they bomb them shortly and because Russian are also orthodox and Russia give them support. From the past to the present

I do not know what kind of deal your are doing with them but do not trust them.

That's what they always cry about.... NATO bombed them.
and thanks for your advice.
From my experience, I can state, they make friends from Serbia and in Bosnia they seem to be on some sort of secret mission. Maybe Serbia it self is unaware of their mission.
I shall come to visit, Bosnia seems interesting place and i nice meat seems granted.
