Bose, Not Gandhi, Ended British Rule In India: Ambedkar

There were just 2 main reasons why British decided to leave India
1) They could not afford to stay in India anymore. Britain was left completely bankrupt, with insolvency only averted in 1946 after the negotiation of a $US 4.33 billion loan (US$56 billion in 2012) from the United States the last instalment of which was repaid in 2006. Around the time India got freedom there were other colonies like SriLanka and Burma which got independence. And lets not forget that Clement Attlee's govt was a pro-decolonisation Labour government.
2) The contribution of INA and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose which had achieved a lot more than Gandhi Ji's quit India movement and Nehru's "freedom struggle".
Let me be very brusque that british would not 've left India if they could afford to carry the white elephant, India. No doubt British would've ultimately left india but India secured independence in 1947 (an year before it was planned) because Britishers were in a hurry to pack their bags.

Totally wrong on all points.
Plz read up on all movements for freedom. You keep yapping about how this was the collective will of people, yet you miss the obvious. Ever movement needs sparks to start the fire and carry it thru. Bose was a big spark.
I did read up and that is why I repeat, Netaji was NOT the spark. If that is what you want, then the initial battle challenging the supremacy of East India Company forces in India can be called as sparks. The 1857 mutiny can be classified as the spark for real independence. Netaji was simply an ordinary politician in the grand scheme of things - the Indian independence movement. He harbored delusions of grandeur and resorted to allying with the axis powers to fight against the British forces and by extension, the Allied powers. Very poor and deplorable decisions. Even if the axis powers had won the war, Bose would have been relegated to the back ground and we would be living as secondary citizens or worse, under the Japanese!! He simply had no acumen to navigate the complex political landscape with various ideologies around.
Earlier, Bose had been a leader of the younger, radical, wing of the Indian National Congress in the late 1920s and 1930s, rising to become Congress President in 1938 and 1939.[8]
So did many of the congress leaders who rose through the ranks. What differentiated Netaji in this role was that he addressed himself as the GoC of the youth movement and had uniforms et al for the members. This whole military/militant wannabe attitude was ridiculed by many ordinary Indians, let alone the British!
In 1946, Members of the Congress initially supported the sailors who led the Royal Indian Navy Mutiny. However they withdrew support at the critical juncture, when the mutiny failed. During the INA trials of 1946, the Congress helped to form the INA Defence Committee, which forcefully defended the case of the soldiers of the Azad Hind government. The committee declared the formation of the Congress' defence team for the INA and included famous lawyers of the time, including Bhulabhai Desai, Asaf Ali, and Jawaharlal Nehru

RIN mutiny and trial of INA soldiers are separate events. INA trial was not palatable to the Indian leadership then because the British looked at it as treason against the crown while the Indian leadership considered the trial as excessive. Afterall INA consisted mostly of captured RIA POW soldiers.
Typical Congress mentality.....
Dude, you dont even know my political affiliations and you immediately bracket me in one!? How immature! Simply because I have a different opinion, I am to be 'condemned'? LOL.
See, I understand this want for hero worship, this romanticism with militant struggle, this craving to idolize an individual who, falsely or ignorantly, is being considered as the single most important reason for 'kicking' the British Empire out of India. Stories of an individual standing up and fighting against the might of the British Empire does indeed fire up the imaginations of an entire population. Stokes the embers of fervent nationalism. Lol, for a time I had idolized Che Guevera!! So I can sympathize with the feelings you harbor for Netaji. The truth is far from this fantasy.
Patel and Azzad were smart and nothing like the rest of the other idiots.
Which Azad are you talking about? I was talking about Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education minster of independent India.
With b@st@rds like you,India doesn't really need an enemy. What say Mikhail??
As far as I remember, I have a right to express my opinion, based on various facts collected from many sources. Simply because I don't prescribe to your single track ideology of hero worshiping you resort to calling me names?
Yup. Stay classy, dimwit!

Concur.

What 'lot more' contributions do you speak of? Can you elaborate?

British were bound to leave India. It would have happened much earlier had it not been for the war in Europe. Colonialism was losing its flavor the world over, being replaced with the riches being brought about by capitalism and open markets. What was the point of investing into resources to physically hold onto colonies, when capitalism would bring in much more richer dividends ? We were already governing ourselves with provincial elections, political parties, creating our own laws etc...we had our own police forces, civic structure/bodies, court system etc.

.
Well,we(you and me) are nationalists unlike these people and hence we have dedicated our times and resources to find out the truth about our beloved leader Netaji instead of being brainwashed by those Congressi version of the I.N.M.
Personally,i would have punched him in the face if he had said all those things about Netaji in front of me but then again i consider myself a nationalist and hence admire and respect all those freedom fighters who sacrificed their everything for our Motherland unlike these Western bootlickers!!

Very true bud, both of us are so much alike in nearly each and every way and I would have reacted in a very similar way had he uttered these vile craps in front of me.Only difference would be that I wouldn't have touched such shit with my hands and have chosen to use my feet instead................on a second thought, that would mess my shoes,so no feet for his *** either!! :P

And to that fuckby ,err... @gubbi dude,do not bother replying to my posts, cause I can't see them.

Typical behavior of people who cannot indulge in a discussion or debate with credible points.
Oh wait, did I just rile up your little Bong nationalism? Lol.
Lol,Bengalis were in the forefront of the national struggle against the British empire unlike your race who were nothing but little pu$$ies in front of the Brits. Our ancestors fought relentlessly against the Brits and millions sacrificed their lives for India's independence.Heck,we made the lives of the brit officials a living hell and hence they were forced to transfer their capital from Kolkata to Delhi in order to save their a$$es from us.Still we killed hundreds of high ranking brits and never gave them a chance to breath with ease!Got it,my little Congressi bootl*cker:lol:!!

And what do you assume my race is?
Didnt the British first establish their bases in Bengal? From the East India Company to the British crown?
Bombay/Maharashtra, Mysore etc were deemed to be very unruly for the British to establish a base, but not Bengal. Wonder why?

.
And what do you assume my race is?
Well one thing is for sure that you ain't a Bengali!Plus after going through all your posts i can safely assume that you aren't even a Marathi because Marathis are extremely proud of their contribution to the I.N.M. and admire freedom fighters like Netaji for being brave and courageous.Well i have doubt about you being a Sikh Punjabi/Arya Punjabi because Punjabis won't blindly follow the propaganda of the Gandhian dynasty.
These three races contributed the most to the Indian Freedom struggle.

So you are going to believe a person who goes chasing after conspiracy theories and ghosts but not believe actual documented history?
Netaji was a good leader in the congress party. He had differences of opinion with other leaders in the party and ended up resigning instead of playing politics, which every politician is supposed TO DO!! He goes and shakes hands with one of the vilest men in human history, resurrects the defunct Indian national army, and with the help of the imperial Japanese army, who believed in their own brand of racism and bigotry, ran amok in the east and south east Asia, slaughtering in hundreds and thousands, the 'racially inferior' people. INA was routed, lost miserably. It was disbanded, and by any accounts was a failure.
And you people still blindly worship Netaji after all this and believe he was responsible for Indian independence?
The author speaks of 'declassified documents' and 'testimonies'. I havent seen them anywhere. Neither are their sources for these documents or testimonies. So why should I believe them?

I admire Subhas Chandra Bose for his patriotism.
I question his political judgement. I question his military leadership skills.

Dude, don't just say Bengalis,it was some specific groups, namely the Hindus and some leftist atheist groups that inflicted the heaviest amount of losses and also suffered the most. The others religious groups were as big pussies as were rest of the country.Actually, the whole country is on a borrowed freedom, they borrowed it from us.Our forefathers were sacrificing their lives (including my grand pa who had been imprisoned for four years) when rest were busy sucking the white balls. And when majority have changed so far,a few of the bastard remnants like this particular poster here continues to indulge in such pathetic actions of sucking their masters' ballz.I guess, their parents should have used precautions on those fateful days (err...nights),atleast that way, the traitors wouldn't have seen the light of the day!!

I am guilty of none of that. I am just stating facts here. The British were/are not idiots to simply leave a golden laying goose like India. Propaganda aside, there were a lot of reasons for the British to hand over power to Indians, to rule ourselves.
Politicians derive their power from the masses. The European politicians can only dream of the volume of support that an Indian politician gets. Why!, even with 31% of votes, PM Modi is the most popular, democratically elected leader the world has known till now. Translating that into numbers would amount to a support of around less than 200 million people!!! So yes, British politicians then with their meager local support were no match to the Indian politicians with their mass support!!!
Also, physically holding on the such a large land mass where the large population was protesting against a foreign rule and indulging in petty acts of political sabotage against the British crown on a world stage, was too much for the British empire to handle. Also with a lot of countries gaining independence in the postwar Europe, UK felt it was time to physically let go of the colonies. But their traditions still hold fast and in some way they still rule over us, if you know what I mean.

I give the British voters credit. They voted out their war leader Churchill out for the Labor Party who were in favor of giving India independence.

Try again, You powers of deduction are very poor.

Well "Fascist" or not Netaji was a thousand times better than that old hag Nehru!I think you haven't heard of the phrase"the enemy of my enemy is my friend".Netaji applied this tactic only when he went ahead and forged an alliance with the Japanese leadership.Heck,he himself had said that he would even befriend with the Devil himself for the sake of India's independence. He was a true patriot unlike that traitor Nehru who is the sole reason why we have got this long lasting Kashmir problem in our hand even after 6 and a half decade of the partition.
Btw,the Brits were as evil as the Japanese if not more.Their P.M. Churchill deliberately led millions of Bengalis starved to death because his racial bigotry.Nehru or even for that matter Mr.Gandhi could have never accomplished what Netaji did because of their lack of courage to face the mighty British empire on their own.Netaji devoted his entire life trying to break the colonial shackles and bring independence to our Motherland.Netaji single handedly stood against the might of the entire British empire and literally gave them a run for their money.Frankly speaking, you aren't even qualified enough to criticize a personality as great as Netaji.Period:coffee:!!

If the Japanese had conquered India they would have killed ten times more Indians than the British ever did. Look at the dead in Andaman & Nicobar islands.

There are dozens of famines in India during British rule. To be blunt British did not care about the Indian masses.
