Boris Johnson accuses Saudi Arabia of 'twisting and abusing' Islam

A broken clock is right twice a day.

Above is an old adage which has been rendered irrelevant now in this digital age:

Not if you still use analogue clocks. Plenty of people do.

Any which way, the situation is "dependent upon" type.
Not a straight forward case.
The proverb works for some situations and not all.
Kind of governed by limitations.

Honestly, that makes you as guilty of the ignorance of Catholic Christianity as you accuse, (and I largely agree with), Boris Johnson of being ignorant of Islam. I converted to Catholicism as a young man, precisely because it timelessly teaches the same Christian doctrines I found in our New Testament, and in my investigation of Christian history. The Catholic Church today for example, stands virtually alone among Christian churches, in teaching the unpopular; abortion is always wrong, divorce and remarriage are adultery, the State has an obligation to the poor, etc.

Just as with Johnson, one must be careful commenting on other people's religion.
Speaking as a former Catholic i agree with you completely.

Even though Boris is a Maverick. But guys got a Spine.

Completely agree -- Best Example Saudi Policy Towards Shias....
Boris is an idiot who often talks before he thinks. He's a joke, everybody here makes fun of him. Just have to see his speeches about the E.U, brexit etc. I wonder why on earth our P.M chooses him as foreign secretary. The day he was appointed by our P.M , many politicians(foreign and national) couldn't believe he was named foreign secretary , they though it was an April foul or something. Tells you alot about him. Lol

As for his view about SAUDI Arabia and Iran twisting religion for their own political objectives. Well, all I can say is that whether he is correct or wrong isn't the issue. The issue is he is in. O position to be making such religious remarks, especially for someone like him who knows basically little to nothing about the region or Islam. He should be focusing on issues that are important to us. This guy is a bigger joker than I even thought.

The clown is completely unfit for any serious govt post... you can have your opinion, and you might be right, but you cant express it openly like this.. leave the job and write article in newspapers...
As I said before, I don't understand how our PM ever considered a known Buffon like him to be our foreign secretary. He's a disgrace to this country. We are a a laughing stock due to this Buffon.:disagree:

boris has a sizable conservative backing and can lead a coup... Teresa wants to keep him busy with the hope that within a few months he will do something outrageous and will stop being a threat.. or at least prove himself to be incompetent.

Yes I'm aware of that. I think he has already made many gaffes . Most of his comments on any topic shows he is clueless and is just trying to pamper to his supporters (hardcore conservatives).
However, I'm aware that Theresa May faced a difficult choice with the two lead Brexiteers when creating her first Cabinet. Since she had been a 'quiet Remainer' (she's a smart/cautious lady who hardly ever shows all her cards during a game.lol) and of course this meant that Boris Johnson and Michael Gove were therefore rebels who had brought down the government...however, although both their leadership bids had faltered (due to each other political backstabbings), they were clearly still "Big Beasts" in the Tory party machinery(they still are to some extent).

Having said this , I believe she still had a choice . I.e give Boris a minor cabinet position like Culture, Media and Sport(which I believe would have been better for the country), or one of the Big Three (Chancellor, Home Sec, Foreign Sec). The later was a bad move for the country (but not politically). She went for the later.

However, looking at it from May's position, I would have done something similar against a political opponent.
Considering the later 3 big positions I mentioned, foreign secretary was the best move for May (giving Boris the rope to hang himself as they say. Lol )
Look at it like this:

To be Chancellor requires sharp economic analysis - possibly not Boris' strong point. :D
Home Secretary requires keeping the police in place (hard) and managing security services, crime, immigration, borders etc - tiresome and, of course, something Theresa May knows inside out. She will know full well that Boris would struggle.:fie:

That left the Foreign Office. Putting Boris there is a risk. He has the ability to make Britain look like idiots on the world stage, or to grossly offend some other nation at any point(missions accomplished). However, beneath the Have I Got News For You comic bluster, i believe Boris has a sharp mind and a desperation to prove himself as a significant statesman.

May, then, has given him an opportunity. Be a successful Foreign Secretary - and with that, make the best of the potential disaster that is Brexit - and prove to the world you deserve to be considered as a political icon of our time - or be a buffoonish disaster, embarrassing your entire country and requiring sacking before terminal damage is done. I think he has already shown he is the later.

He's not totally damaged a as you said (for a now) , So the ball is still in Boris court. If he's serious about perhaps one day being PM, this is his chance to prove he's not a complete idiot. It also gives him the mop to clean up the mess of Brexit - no walking away like Farage.:yahoo:

If he fails(which I think he will), May has seen off the biggest challenger to her authority; if he succeeds, the U.K. Will have a better transition towards Brexit. For May, that's a win-win.

Well, that's how I see things from May's point of view. I think she shouldn't have gone for him in this position though. Considering the general election she called and "lost", this has already weakened her, without that election then yes this would have been a good move, not anymore. That's politics though. :D

Thank you for your views.
Boris might be a Fart--- But his views on Saudi Arabia & it arm Twisting Islam for its Benefits are first from any British MP. No one had Balls to be critical of Saudis due to Massive Arms Deals & love of Charles for Saudis.

On a Lighter side, meet our Boris. Both Guys look similar....

He was talking about both SAUDI Arabia and Iran. Since when does this Buffon knows anything about Islam? He just goes around making a fool out of not only himself but the country. Most of his comments abroad are just stupid and of no importance to us.
He should focus on the job he was appointed for.
