Boeing offers advanced 787 dreamliner to PIA

Its a beautiful plane. But I m not talking about just the looks. Its highly efficient. Made of composite materials and first aircraft ever made on a global supply chain. Extremely fuel efficient that PIA needs.

787 fits the flight distance profile to Europe, Middle East and Far East from Pakistan. While 777 will cover long distances like North America and Australia.

Then from this letter may i assume that PIA has opened funding for remaining 5 airframes.
The order was delayed due to a lack of funding, once PIA had the cash it resumed the order. You are correct, PIA has opened funding for the remaining 5.

Yes ....

And Pakistan International Airways ??
It is right because premium service is launched by pakistan international airways subsidiary of PIA and these aIrframes will be transferred to subsidiary. I think they are taking control out of PIA employees to teach them leason. In future this subsidiary will take over parent company.:chilli: Well played game. http://www.dawn.com/news/1240915

Note: if u look at the premium service aircraft u ll not find any PIA logo.

The Boeing planes PIA has so far missed out on are 727, 717 (MD-95), 757, 767
I always wanted the 757s and 767s to be part of the PIA fleet
Boeing wants pia to replace the waiting oreder of 777-300 with 787

Ever
Boeing is trying to sell and make money; "offer" has different context.
Every company(wether defence or any other) offers its product to get money...everybone wants to sell its products due to money

Nope. The letter talks about PIAs current order of 777s which have not been delivered and is giving PIA the option of converting it to Dreamliners
I'm talking in general -.-
Nobody can put a gun to your head and tell you to buy a specific brand.
And we're going for 777s because we already operate several of them. 787 is an entirely new thing.
well it depends on opinion and choice really. but i would like to say i like the a330 as it part british and its has a great record. the 777's has got a good record too. what else can you but other than the 737 and the a320. also leasing very old a320's is not a good idea. yes its cheaper than the a310s but you need to look ahead.
That's what I've written in my post.

Well I think , Most Pakistanis who travel long hauls their #1 Complaint is No leg room & it is so tiring to travel between destinations , not to mention the long waits

If PIA can introduce a plane such as A-380

It would really be a great game changer

Maximum room & Good Seating in place

The Boeing Dream Liner Letter / Offer looks fantastic as well it is just I personally feel more comfortable in a flight over Atlantic with 4 engines (Personal Bias)

My Top Three Recommendations for PIA would be

1- Business class seating all of plane
2- Close to Economy Price to Lock in Pakistani Customer 100%
3- Discount for People over 60 year old , Discount price for Children Under 12
so these two demographic are compelled to travel 2 times a year to Pakistan

With "Bigger" plane all of this is possible

When a person goes to search for PIA flights from Western countries it is always difficult to find booking - and the #1 Reason is lack of Crafts

Mate have you ever travelled on the A380? The leg spacing is exactly the same. A bigger aircraft does not mean that there would be more room for the passenger, it just means that there will be more room for the airlines to fit in more seats. The seat spacing and seat type is (depending on when the interior was refurbished) standard across an airline's fleet. In other words, the seat type and seat spacing in an Emirates 777 and an A380 is pretty much exactly the same. Take it from someone who regularly flies connecting flights with the two aircraft.

Premium service is a subsidiary? I though it was just a normal aircraft of PIA with good seats, etc

Not to mention if you happen to sit in the middle of the economy class in a A380 the food will come to you late. The economy class is huge.

The order was delayed due to a lack of funding, once PIA had the cash it resumed the order.

What happened to the funding? I thought the whole deal was approved because of some loan approved by the Bush Administration way back in 2002

Not too sure, PIA was in loss for a while if i'm not mistaken. They probably used the cash up some where else or put it in their own pocket....

Well every plane carrier , can "specify" the configuration of seating they want for the plane
Every plane company is asked the configuration question and based on the needs the seats are configured

If PIA wants to cram people up in economy style setup that is just too old fashioned - it is negative for passenger satisfaction (specially on 10-15 hour flights)

The only thing 'new' would be if they really introduce High End configuration for seating for all plane

QUALITY vs number of seats , raise the standard of flight and passenger satisfaction
