Debunking the Daily Star yellow journalism: Awami League behind communal attacks at Pabna
A furor was created a few days ago when major media outlets, including the Daily Star, published reports of attacks on the Hindu minority at Pabna at Bonogram bazaar in Santhia upazila, about 40 kilometres from Pabna sadar. The Daily Star reported that the attacks originated from postings on a facebook page where people inflamed by malignly worded attacks on Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) were reported to claim that local resident Rajib Saha had maligned Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the page.

Understandably so, the page in question was found to be in existence for the sole purpose of the denigration of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and spreading hate speech against Islam and Islamic teachings. However, the twist by the Daily Star was equally tantalizing to behold, as it added its personal spin on to the incident at hand.

Another yellow doctored report:

The report, without any preamble, injected the following into its vividly detailed report. As per the report, “Yesterday’s incident also followed the trend of recent Jamaat- Shibir-BNP attacks on the Hindu minorities across the country. Locals of Bonogram said some known faces of Jamaat, Shibir and BNP led the attacks throughout the day.”

But who were these “known faces of Jamaat, Shibir and BNP”? As always, that was where the report inserted speculation as it stopped elaborating any further into such serious allegations. The mission of the daily Star was accomplished. It had successfully made Jamaat and Shibir the culprits behind the attacks. It had played the religious intolerance card, baring its own sinister political motives of defaming the said parties. The leftists had their fodder for more Jamaat bashing sessions, despite the fact that it was just baseless speculation. But who cares? Despite the fact that journalism has been forced down the drain, the Daily Star, a media outlet which likes to drum on everywhere about its “impeccable reputation”. Let us move on.

Thinly disguised desperado attempt to separate Awami League and terrorism:

Another report soon followed suit in the same newspaper a couple of days later, this time a contradictory one, entitled “Some attackers seen with Tuku”.
As per the second report, “Some of the alleged culprits of Saturday’s attack on Hindu community in Pabna were yesterday seen with State Minister for Home Shamsul Hoque Tuku and two lawmakers in the affected Bonogram village. Interestingly, during the visit, the state minister claimed that his party men had tried to save the Hindu families. Mithu and Rubel, who according to villagers were among the attackers, were prominently seen welcoming the ministers and taking part in a rally organised by the local administration protesting Saturday’s violence. The Daily Star took photos of Mithu and Rubel, both aged between 20 and 25 years. Seeing the photos, the victim families and locals vehemently said that both had taken part in the vandalism and looting. Mithu was seen around the ministers all the time and chanting slogans with others. Asked, locals said Mithu and Rubel of nearby Miapur village are known as local thugs. But the villagers could not confirm their political identity.

“Another youth named Ani, who also had been with the attackers, was also seen in the programme,” said a trader of Bonogram bazar. Hailing from Gouripur, Ani is also known in the area as a mugger and extortionist. He is involved in an underground party along with his uncle, alleged locals.”

So why the double standard? In the earlier report, the Daily Star did not shy away from blatantly claiming that the attacks were led by “known faces of the Jamaat, Shibir and the BNP”. But in the second report, despite the presence of pictographic evidence collected by the Daily Star itself, the meek claim is that the attackers, although very close to the Awami League stalwarts, maysomehow not be related to the Awami League. Intentional or not, this sure is shoddy journalism at its peak.

Pabna communal attacks politically motivated:

So what happens now? We need to know what truly happened that day to understand the reality behind this awful incident. On the 5th of November, eminent leaders of the opposition in Sathia arranged a press conference to give their take on the incident. Their accounts turned out to be equivalent to letting multiple cats out of the bag.

According to the written statement at the conference, ruling party cadres under Khetupara Union Chatroleague Convener Jakir Hossain started distributing printed leaflets of what was claimed to be a facebook status ridiculing and denigrating Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and the Quran at Bonogram Bazar. They claimed that it was written by Rajib Saha.

Behind the scenes of the incident, it was revealed that earlier, Chatra league cadres had demanded extortion money amounting to 2 lakh taka from Rajib Saha’s father, Babul Saha. On being unable to extort the sum, the Chatra League cadres had resorted to using the communal card through incitement of religious hatred against the local Hindus so that they could loot minority properties and carry out an attack on Babul Saha at the same time, all the while keeping their true intentions hidden. Organisers of the press conference said that the incident was being used by the government authorities and the ruling party in order to put the blame on to the opposition. They reiterated the need for the authorities to carry out proper investigations, using video evidence if necessary. It was time to stand beside the victims, not play with the sentiments of the people for political gain.

It would be in the best interests of the nation as well to attend to the complexities doctored on by biased media such as the Daily Star. Reports such as these bring into question the actual intentions of the Daily Star and will make readers wonder whether the Daily Star had had doctored previous reports with its mysterious hidden intentions in context. Objectively speaking, Bangladesh as a nation would be highly better off without such yellow journalism. Stop yellow journalism NOW.

Deploring the attacks on Hindu community members at Bangram in Pabna, opposition BNP on Sunday alleged that the government agents are behind the heinous incident.

In a statement, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “The government-sponsored agents are surely involved in the incident. The government has helped the anti-Bangladesh international conspirators by attacking the minority community to gain its own interest.”

He warned that the government will not be able to break the strong mosaic of religious harmony that has been created in the country since the time immemorial, no matter what conspiracy the government hatches.

Fakhrul alleged that the ruling party being panicked by the united movement by people has long been carrying out attacks on minority communities in different parts of the country to mislead people.

Mentioning that the people of all communities are tied in unison, Fakhrul said all the blueprints of the autocratic government will get foiled in the face of strong resistance by all communities.

Calling upon people to remain alert against the government’s plots, he said the government is trying to make political gains by creating divisions based on religion.

The BNP spokesman also said the BNP-led 18-party alliance will play the role of vanguard in ensuring the security for life and property of the minority communities.

He demanded the government immediately arrest and mete out exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of the dreadful incident.

A group of Muslims went on a rampage at Bangram in Sathia upazila on Saturday attacking and looting the houses and shops of Hindu community members following reported derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (SM) and the holy Quran on a Facebook account.

The attackers vandalised and looted 10-12 business establishments, 25-30 houses and three temples of the Hindus, and torched the house of the alleged instigator, Rajib Shah, a Hindu boy.

DHAKA, Jan, 7, 2014 (BSS) - Leaders of different organizations today urged the government to give proper compensation to the affected families and rehabilitate those including the minorities whose houses were burned and damaged by the opposition activists before and after the 10th national polls.

They made their demands while speaking at a human-chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club organized by the Bangladesh-Hindu- Buddha-Christian Oikka Parishad this afternoon.

After the election on January 5, the parishad leaders, said houses, business establishments and temples in different areas of
Jessore, Dinajpur, Takurgaon, Chittagong, Satkhira were looted,
torched and ransacked by the activists of Jamaat- Shibir and BNP.

In a joint statement 251 members of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote condemned the BNP-Jamaat for attack on the houses of minority communities and Awami League leaders and Workers

They accused the Jamaat-Shibir and BNP of carrying out attack on the houses of minorities and Awami League workers saying that the vested quarters were creating anarchic situation across the country to compel the minority communities to leave the country.

The police have released a relative of state minister for home Shamsul Hoque Tuku after they ‘detained’ him suspecting his involvement in the recent attacks on the Hindus at Santhia in Pabna.
Taslim Uddin Khan, 35, is the elder brother of Mostak Khan, son-in-law of Tuku’s elder brother Abdus Sattar. Taslim is the son of Moslem Uddin Khan of Miapur in Ataikula union.
Superintendent of police of Pabna Miraj Uddin Ahmed had first spoke of Taslim’s detention, but detective police OC Mirza Abdus Salam later denied it altogether.
Speaking to the news agency, Mostak Khan said: ‘Detective police had detained my brother, but released him after questioning.’
Tension roiled the locality on November 1 night after news spread that grade-10 student of Bonogram’s Sahaparha Rajib Saha had slandered Prophet Muhammad on his Facebook page.
The following day, a Muslim mob had attacked, ransacked and torched at least 35 houses, three temples and 15 businesses of the Hindu minorities.
The police on Tuesday also detained two more people in connection with the rampage. Local people said detective police also picked up Taslim from his business organisation at Miapur bazaar in the afternoon.
SP Miraj told the news agency that ‘Detective police have detained Toslim in connection with the communal attack.’
But DB OC Abdus Salam told the news agency that Toslim was not detained.
Local leaders and supporters of both ruling Awami League and the main opposition BNP have blamed each other for the attacks.
Salam said they had detained the two others from the Porhadanga bazaar at Sujanagar upazila.
They are Bonogram ward No 4 Juba League unit president Abdur Rahman Khwaza and ‘Dulal’, son of late Azhar Sheikh of Kumirgarhi village.
Earlier, alleged slanderer Rajib’s father Bablu Saha had filed a case at Ataikula police station naming 20 and accusing 300 unnamed others of the attacks.
The police have also arrested local shop Rangdhonu Photostat owner Amimul Ehsan in another case filed under the Information Communication and Technology Act. Fourteen people have been arrested in the last 10 days.
A police official, preferring not to be named, said three of the accused in the case filed by Bablu were also arrested.
But, several Hindu women seeking anonymity alleged that the police were not arresting the perpetrators and the masterminds who are roaming freely.
Meanwhile, Zahurul Islam, an arrested BNP activist reportedly confessed his involvement in a statement before court on Tuesday.
Ataikula police OC Rezaul Karim told the news agency that Zahurul confessed in the court of Judicial Magistrate Laila Sharmin.
Quoting him, Karim said the alleged Facebook posting of Rajib spread in the area after Juba Dal supporter ‘Khokan’ collected a print out and photocopied it at Aminul Ehsan’s shop.
‘Zahurul said all leaders and activists of the BNP, Awami League and Jamaat-e-Islami had launched the attacks on the Hindus altogether,’ Karim added.
SP Miraj Uddin said all three cases filed over the attacks, two of the police and another of Bablu Saha, were transferred to the Detective Branch Tuesday afternoon for further investigation.

১০ম জাতীয় নির্বাচনের পর আবারো সংখ্যালঘুদের উপর বিশেষ করে হিন্দুদের উপর বিভিন্ন জায়গায় হামলা হচ্ছে। যেখানে প্রশাসন থেকে ও এই সব হামলা বন্ধের জন্য কোনো পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হচ্ছে না। উল্টো কয়েক জায়গায় রাজনৈতিক ফায়দা হাসিলের জন্য প্রশাসনকে ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে। ২০০১ সালে বিএনপি জামায়াত ক্ষমতায় আসার পর আওয়ামীলীগের লোকজন সংখ্যালঘু ইস্যু নিয়ে তুলকালাম সৃষ্টি করে। বলেছিলো সংখ্যালঘুরা সরকারী দলের সন্ত্রাসীদের দ্বারা আক্রান্ত হচ্ছে।

কিন্তু বর্তমানে এই আওয়ামীলীগ সরকারের আমলেই বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে সবচেয়ে বেশি আক্রান্ত হচ্ছে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজন । আসল সন্ত্রাসীদের গ্রেপ্তার না করে, রাজনৈতিক সুবিধার্থে উল্টো ক্ষমতার বাহিরে থাকা জামায়াত শিবির ও বিএনপির কর্মীদের দোষারোপ করে যাচ্ছে। আর তার সাথে ইন্ধন যোগাচ্ছে কিছু মিডিয়া। মিডিয়ার এই অন্ধ রিপোর্টগুলোর কারণেই সন্ত্রাসীরা আরো বেশি করে হামলা করছে হিন্দুদের উপরে। কারণ তারা জানে তারা যতই হামলা করুক না কেন মিডিয়ায় প্রকৃত খবর আসবে না , উল্টো জামায়াত শিবিরকে দোষারোপ করা হচ্ছে। অথচ একজন স্বাধীন দেশের নাগরিক হিসেবে মিডিয়াতে আমরা প্রকৃত দৃশ্য দেখতে চাই , এবং সন্ত্রাসীরা যেই দলেরই হোক না কেন প্রশাসনের সুষ্ঠ তদন্তের মাঝে আমরা প্রকৃত দোষীদের কঠিন শাস্তি চাই।

ওই সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তিনি আরো বলেন , তিনি চলতি বছরের এক পরিসংখ্যান উল্লেখ্য করে বলেন, এবার ৪৭৮টি মঠ ও মন্দির, ১২৪টি ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে হামলা, অগ্নিসংযোগ ও লুটপাটের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। মাইনরিটি পার্র্টির সভাপতি শচীন্দ্র লাল দে বলেন, বর্তমান সরকারের আমলে চট্টগ্রামের নদীরহাট, বাঁশখালী, রামু, দিনাজপুরের চিরিরবন্দর, সাতক্ষীরার কালীগঞ্জের চাকরদাসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় সংখ্যালঘুদের মঠ, মন্দির ও ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে ব্যাপক হামলা, অগ্নিসংযোগ- লুটপাট হয়েছে।১৭ জন কুমারীকে ধর্ষণ করা হয়েছে; তাদের মধ্যে আটজনকে ধর্ষণের পর হত্যা করা হয়েছে।

এইদিকে লন্ডন প্রবাসী এক হিন্দু নেতা ও এনটিভির একটি টকশোতে একই দাবি করেন। তিনি বলেন আওয়ামীলীগ নিজেই হিন্দুদেরকে বেশি নির্যাতন করছে




হিন্দু নেতাদের এই রকম ভয়াবহ অভিযোগ গুলো কি অসত্য ? এখন আমরা সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে হিন্দুদের উপর হামলার চিত্র , পত্রিকার সূত্র সহ দেখবো :

১) ছাত্রলীগ বলে ছাড়

বাড়ির মালিক রতন ভৌমিকের পূর্ব পুরম্নষদের রেখে যাওয়া ২ একর ৭৭ শতক সম্পত্তির ওপর দীর্ঘদিন থেকে লোলুপ দৃষ্টি দেয় স্থানীয় ৭নং ওয়ার্ডের পৌর কাউন্সিলর ও পৌরসভার প্যানেল মেয়র এবং উপজেলা যুবলীগ নেতা এসএম ফিরোজ রহমান।

রোববার মধ্যরাতে ফিরোজ রহমানের দুই ভাইয়ের নেতৃত্বে ৮/১০ জন লোক বাড়ির জমির মালিকানা দাবি করে গাছের সঙ্গে তিনটি সাইনবোর্ড ঝুলায়। এ সময় বাড়ির নারী সদস্যরা বাধা দিলে ফিরোজ ও তার লোকজন একত্রিত হয়ে হামলা চালিয়ে মনষা মন্দিরের মূর্তি ভাংচুর করেন। এসময় তুলশী সাহা (৫৫) ও মায়া রানী পোদ্দারকে (৮০) মারধরও করা হয়।

৩) বরিশালে মন্দির ও বাড়িতে আগুন দেয় ছাত্রলীগকর্মীরা! : বরিশাল নগরের একটি শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের অন্তত ৫০ জন শিক্ষার্থী নৌকায় করে সদর উপজেলার চরকাউয়ায় গিয়ে হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজনের বাড়ি ও মন্দিরে আগুন দিয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে। কালের কণ্ঠের অনুসন্ধানেও এমন কয়েকজনের নাম জানা গেছে, যারা ছাত্রলীগের রাজনীতির সঙ্গে জড়িত। যে খুনের ঘটনার জের ধরে সনাতন ধর্মাবলম্বী ওই পরিবারগুলো হামলার শিকার হয়েছে সেই পারভেজের ভাই ছাত্রলীগের রাজনীতির সঙ্গে জড়িত। এমনকি খুনের ঘটনার পর ওই রাতে চরআইচা এলাকায় ছাত্রলীগের একজন নেতাও গিয়েছিলেন। সেখানে হামলার বিষয়টি নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে।

৪) হিন্দু বাড়িতে আগুন দেয়ার সময় যুবলীগ নেতা আটক


সাতক্ষীরার দেবহাটায় সংখ্যালঘু হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের কয়েকটি বাড়ি ঘরে আগুন দিয়ে পালানোর সময় এক যুবলীগ নেতাকে আটক করে পুলিশে দিয়েছে স্থানীয় জনতা।আটককৃত যুবলীগ নেতা আব্দুল গাফফার জানান, স্থানীয় আওয়ামী লীগ নেতার নির্দেশে সে হিন্দুদের বাড়িতে আগুন ধরিয়ে দেয়। এ সময় সে তার আরো তিন সহযোগীর নাম পুলিশকে জানান

৬)জমি নিয়ে বিরোধের জের : বেগমগঞ্জে মন্দির ও হিন্দুবাড়িতে আ.লীগ ক্যাডারদের হামলা ভাংচুর লুটপাট:

নোয়াখালী বেগমগঞ্জ উপজেলার কৃষ্ণরামপুর গ্রামে হিন্দুবাড়িতে ও কালীমন্দিরে সরকারদলীয় ক্যাডাররা হামলা ভাংচুর ও নগদ টাকা লুট করেছে এমন অভিযোগ করেছেন মন্দির সংশ্লিষ্টরা।

গত শুক্রবার রাত ১১টায় কৃষ্ণরামপুর গ্রামের আবদুল মন্নানের ছেলে আওয়ামী লীগ কর্মী ইউনুছ, তেঁতিয়া গ্রামের নজরুলের ছেলে আওয়ামী লীগ কর্মী সাইফুল ও মাদবশিং গ্রামের মৃত লেদু মিয়ার ছেলে ইউসুফ খানসহ ৭-৮ জন হামলা চালায় বলে জানান ক্ষতিগ্রস্তরা। হামালাকারীরা হিন্দু বাড়ি ও মন্দিরের সীমানা প্রাচীর ভাংচুর করে

৭) যশোরে হামলা শিবিরের : এলাকাবাসী ও স্থানীয় প্রশাসন বলছে, জামায়াত-শিবির এ তাণ্ডব চালিয়েছে। জামায়াত-শিবিরের স্থানীয় নেতাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলার চেষ্টা করা হলেও তাঁদের পাওয়া যায়নি।

এলাকাবাসী বলেন, জামায়াত-শিবিরের তাণ্ডবে আতঙ্কিত হয়ে সাঁতরে নদ পাড়ি দিতে হয়েছিল তাঁদের অনেককেই। নদ পাড়ি দিয়ে দেয়াপাড়া গ্রামের পালপাড়া এলাকার পূজামণ্ডপে আশ্রয় নেন কালীদাসী সরকার।

৮) ভোলায় মন্দিরে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতার হামলা প্রতিমা ভাঙচুর, আহত ৪, গ্রেপ্তার ৩



ভোলার লালমোহনের লর্র্ডহার্ডিঞ্জের মন্দিরে হামলা চালিয়ে প্রতিমা ভাঙচুর করেছে ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা আলী ব্যাপারী ও তার দল। এ সময় তাদের মহিলাসহ

৪ জন আহত হয়েছেন। মন্দিরের পুরোহিত কিরণ চন্দ্র দাস জানান, বেলা ১২ টার দিকে মন্দিরের ভিতর গরু আসাকে কেন্দ্র করে ঝর্ণা রানী দাসের সাথে লর্ড হার্ডিঞ্জ ইউনিয়নের আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদকের ছেলে সিরাজের কথাকাটাকাটি হয়। এ সময় মন্দিরের পুরোহিত বাধা দিলে তিনি চলে যান। এরপর বেলা সাড়ে ১২টার দিকে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা আলী ব্যাপারীর নেতৃত্বে সিরাজ, মোসারেফ, মোবারক, রিয়াজ, সানাউল্লাহ, লোকমান, কামরুল ও গালপোড়া অনুসহ একদল সন্ত্রাসী মন্দিরের ভিতর ঢুকে প্রতিমা ভাঙচুর করে। এ সময় বাধা দিতে গেলে সন্ত্রাসীরা কিরণ চন্দ্র দাস, ঝর্ণা রানী দাস, বিরঙ্গী বৈশ্য, ববিতা রানী দাসকে পিটিয়ে গুরুতর জখম করে।

৯) এলাকা ছেড়েছে বেশ কিছু পরিবার ডিসির নিকট স্মারকলিপি,বগুড়ার শাজাহানপুরে যুবলীগ নেতার অত্যাচারে এলাকা ছাড়ছে হিন্দুরা

বগুড়ার শাজাহানপুর উপজেলার গন্ডগ্রামে এক যুবলীগ নেতার অত্যাচারে অতিষ্ঠ হয়ে উঠেছেন এলাকার হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষ। ইতোমধ্যেই বেশ কয়েকটি পরিবার এলাকা ছেড়ে অন্যত্র যেতে বাধ্য হয়েছে। অন্যদের ওপর নিয়মিত নির্যাতন করছে যুবলীগ নেতার ক্যাডার বাহিনী। হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের শত শত মানুষ গতকাল মঙ্গলবার বগুড়া জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ের হাজির হয়ে এই ঘটনার প্রতিবাদ জানান এবং প্রতিকার চেয়ে জেলা প্রশাসকের নিকট স্মারকলিপি প্রদান করেন।

এবার দেখবো হিন্দুদের উপর হামলার গত কয়েক বছরের আরো কিছু চিত্র :

গত বছর বাশখালিতে হিন্দুদের উপর হামলার ঘটনায় ও জামায়াত শিবিরকে দ্বায়ী করে কতিপয় মিডিয়া। পরের দিন আমারদেশ পত্রিকা সত্য ঘটনা প্রকাশ করে। বাঁশখালীতে সংখ্যালঘুদের ওপর হামলায় নেতৃত্ব দেয় আ.লীগের বিদ্রোহী গ্রুপ : পুলিশের ভূমিকা ছিল রহস্যজনক, মামলায় ফাঁসানোর ভয় দেখিয়ে টাকা কামাচ্ছে সরকারদলীয়রা এই শিরোনামে রিপোর্ট করে ..

খবরে বলা হয় চট্টগ্রামের বাঁশখালীতে গত সপ্তাহে বিক্ষুব্ধ জনতার ওপর পুলিশের গুলির পর আওয়ামী লীগ নেতাদের উস্কানি ও অংশগ্রহণে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের বাড়িঘর, ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠান ও মন্দিরে ভাঙচুর-অগ্নিসংযোগ করা হয়। আর এই নাশকতার জন্য পরিকল্পিতভাবে বেছে নেয়া হয় বাঁশখালীর দরিদ্র সংখ্যালঘু পরিবার ও তাদের ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে।


আজকে আবার নয়াদিগন্ত পত্রিকার ফেসবুক পেইজে আওয়ামী লীগের নির্যাতন থেকে রক্ষা পেতে সংখ্যালঘুরা থানায় : চাঁদা দাবি, বৌ ঝিকে উঠিয়ে নেয়ার হুমকি শিরোনামে খবর প্রকাশ করে

এতে বলা হয় টাঙ্গাইলের গোপালপুর পৌরসভার চন্দবাড়ি গ্রামের সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারের সদস্যরা আওয়ামী সন্ত্রাসী ও চাঁদাবাজের হাতে এখন জিম্মি। সরকারি দলের নাম ভাঙিয়ে নানা অত্যাচার-নির্যাতনের পর এখন তাদের গ্রামছাড়া করার পাঁয়তারা করছে। সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারের সদস্যরা গতকাল সন্ধ্যায় দলবেধে থানায় হাজির হয়ে জানমালের নিরাপত্তা চেয়ে এবং সন্ত্রাসীদের গ্রেফতারের দাবিতে লিখিত অভিযোগ করে।

লিখিত পিটিশনে গ্রামের সংখ্যালঘু নেতা রংলাল চন্দ্র পাল অভিযোগ করেন, পার্শ্ববর্তী হাটবৈরাণ গ্রামের মৃত হাবিবের ছেলে ফারুখ, মৃত আছর আলীর ছেলে মনির এবং চন্দবাড়ী গ্রামের মৃত ইবরাহিমের ছেলে লতিফ এবং ফজর আলীর শরীফ সরকারি দলের নাম ভাঙিয়ে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের কাছ থেকে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে চাঁদা আদায় করে আসছে। চাঁদা না দেয়ায় এরআগে তারা বাড়িঘরে হামলা চালিয়ে কয়েক দফা ভাংচুর ও লুটপাট চালায়। বেশকজনকে মারপিটও করে

এদিকেগত বছর নিউএজ পত্রিকায আওয়ামীলীগ নেতা দ্বারা হিন্দু মহিলা ধর্ষণ নিয়ে রিপোর্ট করে Woman, raped and threatened, goes into hiding শিরোনামে খবর প্রকাশ করে . এতে বলা হয়

Mahfuzur, also convener of the Kachua unit Awami League, is reported to have raped the woman in her house at night on December 19 at Charkati in the upazila. Her husband, who owns a pharmacy, was not at home at the time.

Local people alleged that Mahfuzur had threatened lives of her and her husband if they did not leave the country.

The woman, along with her husband and a minor son, went into hiding early December 21.

Muktijoddha Sangsad and Puja Udjapan Parishad of the district went on demonstrations, rallying for the removal of Mahfuzur as upazila chairman and his early arrest.

এদিকে লাকসামে আওয়ামীলীগের নেতাকর্মীরা হিন্দুদের মেরে বর্ষপূর্তি পালন করেছে .

বিস্তারিত খবরে জানা যায় স্থানীয় হিন্দুদের ১৯২০ সাল থেকে ভোগ দখল করে আসা জমির উপর কুদৃষ্টি পড়ে স্থানীয় কয়েকজন আওয়ামীলীগ নেতার। ২০০৯ সাল(আওয়ামী লীগের ক্ষমতা লাভের বছর) থেকে চলা মামলায় আদালতে টিকতে না পেরে ২০১১ সালে এসে ঘর বাড়ী ভাংচুর, বিশ বছরের ছেলে থেকে ৯০ বছরের বৃদ্ধা সবাইকে পিটিয়ে মাথা ফাটিয়ে দেয়। আড়াই ঘন্টা ধরে চলা এ তান্ডবে প্রায় অর্ধশতাধিক আওয়ামী ক্যাডার অংশ নেয়

এদিকে সাতক্ষীরাতে ও তান্ডব চালাচ্ছে সরকার দলীয় সন্ত্রাসীরা সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনে ভাংছে দেশের সব রেকর্ড

ক্ষমতাসীনদের হাতে নির্যাতনের শিকার হচ্ছে হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়। তাদের জায়গাজমি দখল করে নিচ্ছে সরকারদলীয় নামধারী কিছু সন্ত্রাসী। পেট্রল ঢেলে আগুনে পুড়িয়ে ও পিটিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়েছে কয়েকজনকে। এ নিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগের বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের নেতাদের কাছে নালিশ জানিয়েও কোনো লাভ হচ্ছে না।


পিরোজপুরে ও সরকারী বাহিনী চালাচ্ছে নজিরবিহীন সন্ত্রাস .. পিরোজপুরের হিন্দুরা দলমত নির্বিশেষে গণস্বাক্ষর দিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা-কর্মীদের অত্যাচারের প্রতিকারের আবেদন জানিয়েছেন। চট্টগ্রামে সংবাদ সম্মেলন করার অপরাধে সরকারদলীয় লোকজন অমরেন্দ্র মল্লিকের পরিবারের সদস্যদের নামে চুরি ও মারপিটের মিথ্যা মামলা দেন। পরে তার বাড়িতে হানা দিয়ে সবাইকে বেদম পেটান। অমরেন্দ্র মল্লিককে স্ত্রী-পুত্র-কন্যার সামনে উলঙ্গ করে মারধর করা হয় বলে তিনি অভিযোগ করেন।

এদিকে হিন্দু-বৌদ্ধ-খ্রিস্টান ঐক্য পরিষদ নেতা সি আর দত্ত বীরউত্তম এ ব্যাপারে সোমবার এ প্রতিবেদককে বলেন, ঘটনা সত্য। এগুলো আমি অবহিত হয়েছি। আমরা এর বিরুদ্ধে কাজ শুরু করব। আওয়ামী লীগকে এর মধ্যেই আমরা জানিয়েছি। আমার কথা হলো – সবার বোঝা উচিত সংখ্যালঘু হিসেবে হিন্দুদের ওপর যে হামলা-নির্যাতন হচ্ছে তা দেশের মানুষ পছন্দ করে না

তিন এমপির বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ : হিন্দু-বৌদ্ধ-খ্রিস্টান ঐক্য পরিষদের নেতারা সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনের জন্য সরকারি দলের তিনজন এমপিকে সরাসরি দায়ী করেছেন। তারা বলছেন, এদের প্রশ্রয়েই তাদের অনুসারীরা সংখ্যালঘুদের নির্যাতন করেছেন।

১) ৫ মার্চ নাটোরের বড়াইগ্রাম উপজেলার মাহমুদপুর গ্রামের তিনটি সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারের বাড়িঘর আগুন দিয়ে পুড়িয়ে দেন স্থানীয় আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা-কর্মীরা।

২)গত বছরের ২২ আগস্ট রাজধানীর সূত্রাপুরের ৯৫ ঋষিকেশ দাস লেনে আওয়ামী লীগ সন্ত্রাসীরা এক হিন্দু পরিবারের বাড়ি দখল করতে তাদের নয়জনকে মারধর, লুটপাট এমনকি পরে তাদের অপহরণ করে।

৩) ২ এপ্রিল ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ায় সংখ্যালঘুদের নিরাপত্তা দাবিতে মানববন্ধন করে বিভিন্ন শ্রেণী-পেশার মানুষ। সংখ্যালঘুরা তাদের জীবনের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করার দাবি জানান।

৪)২০ এপ্রিল কেরানীগঞ্জে আওয়ামী লীগ, যুবলীগ ও ছাত্রলীগের নেতা-কর্মীরা সম্পত্তি দখল করতে গিয়ে অজিত করাতি ওরফে ক্ষীরমোহনকে (৫৫) পিটিয়ে হত্যা করে। এ সময় চারটি বাড়িতে ভাঙচুর ও লুটপাটও করা হয়। অজিত করাতিকে পিটিয়ে হত্যার ভিডিও ফুটেজ ক্যামেরায় ধারণ করায় পুলিশ সাংবাদিকদের লাঞ্ছিতও করে।

৫) গত বছর ২২ ডিসেম্বর রাতে সিংড়ার তাজপুর গ্রামে দেবোত্তর সম্পত্তি নিয়ে বিরোধকে কেন্দ্র করে বাড়িতে ও খড়ের পালায় দুর্বৃত্তরা অগ্নিসংযোগ করে। এতে রাজবিহারী ঘোষ নামে একজন বৃদ্ধ দগ্ধ হন। দুই দিন পর তিনি রাজশাহী মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে মারা যান। ঐক্য পরিষদের নেতা অ্যাডভোকেট রানা দাসগুপ্ত অভিযোগ করেছেন, আমি ওই গ্রামে তদন্ত করতে যাই। পরে দেখি ৯০ একর জমি নিয়েই এ বিরোধের সূত্রপাত। পরিস্থিতি অনুযায়ী উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগ নেতাদেরই স্থানীয় সংখ্যালঘুরা দায়ী করেছেন।

৬)গত বছরের ২৫ জুলাই নরসিংদীর পলাশের চরসিন্দুর গ্রামে শ্মশানের জায়গা দখলকে কেন্দ্র করে সংখ্যালঘুদের চারটি বাড়িঘর ও মূর্তি ভাঙচুর এবং তাদের বাড়িতে লুটপাট করা হয়।

৭)১১ জুলাই দোহারের নারিশা পূর্বচর গ্রামে সংখ্যালঘু নৃপেন মালাকারের জমিতে সাইনবোর্ড ঝুলিয়ে দখল করা হয়।

৮)২২ ফেব্রুয়ারি পিরোজপুরের মঠবাড়িয়া উপজেলার বড়মাছুয়া ইউনিয়নের খেজুরবাড়িয়া গ্রামের সিকদারবাড়িসহ চার সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারের পানের বরজ ও খড়ের গাদায় আগুন লাগিয়ে পুড়িয়ে দেওয়া হয়।

পরিষদ নেতারা অভিযোগ করেন, বরিশালের অশ্বিনী কুমার টাউন হলের সামনের মন্দিরে গত কোরবানির সময় স্থানীয় আওয়ামী লীগের মহিলা সম্পাদিকা গরু ঝুলিয়ে কোরবানি দিয়েছেন।

৯)চট্টগ্রামের সীতাকুন্ডের এমপির পুত্র বনবিভাগের গাছ কেটে জায়গা দখল করেই ক্ষান্ত হননি, তিনি জমিসংলগ্ন জেলেপাড়ার ৭০-৮০টি সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারের চলার পথ বন্ধ করে দেন।

১০)যেভাবে সপরিবারে নির্যাতিত হলেন অমরেন্দ্র: নির্যাতনের শিকার অমরেন্দ্র মল্লিক খোড়াতে খোড়াতে নিউ এজ অফিসে এসেছিলেন। তার এক হাত ভেংগে গেছে। শরীরে নির্যাতনের অসংখ্য চিহ্ন।

গত ৫ মে দুপুর আড়াইটায় কিছু আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা কর্মী আমার বাড়িতে যান। তারা গিয়েই আমার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে স্নাতক পড়–য়া পুত্র শিমুল মল্লিককে বেধড়ক মারধর শুরু করে। আমি খবর পেয়ে বাড়ি যাই। আমাকে সামনে পেয়ে আমার ওপরেও চড়াও হয়।

আমরা দ্রুত ঘরের ভেতর ঢুকে পড়ার চেষ্টা করি। কিন্তু তারা দড়জা লাগানোর সময় দেয়নি। ঘড়ের ভেতর ঢুকে আমাকে ও আমার পুত্রকে মেঝেতে ফেলে দিয়ে মারধর করতে থাকে। আমাকে পরিবারের সামনেই উলংগ করে ফেলে পেটাতে থাকে। পরে আমাকে দড়ি দিয়ে পিছমোড়া বেঁধে কিল ঘুষি মারতে মারতে টেনে বাইরে নিয়ে যায়।

১১)২২ অক্টোবর আওয়ামী লীগ নামধারী একদল সন্ত্রাসী বন্দুক উঁচিয়ে কাফরুল থানার পুলিশের সামনেই ক্যাথলিক খ্রিস্টান সম্প্রদায়ের সদস্য রীতা গমেজের বাড়ির অধিকাংশ জমি জবর-দখল করে। রীতা গমেজের পরিবার থেকে পুলিশ স্টেশনে অভিযোগ করতে গেলে তা নেওয়া হয়নি। রীতা গমেজ স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে দেখা করে জানান, তিনিও আওয়ামী লীগের কর্মী। গত নির্বাচনে নৌকার পক্ষে কাজ করেছেন। অথচ এখন আওয়ামী লীগের পরিচিত লোকজনই পুলিশ-প্রশাসনের সহায়তায় ক্যাথলিক খ্রিস্টানদের পৈতৃক ভিটেমাটি থেকে উচ্ছেদ করছে। অভিযোগপত্রে বলা হয়, স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর বাসায় উপস্থিত আওয়ামী লীগ কর্মীরা

এ সময় রীতা গমেজের ওপর চড়াও হওয়ার চেষ্টা করেন এবং হুমকি দেন, তারা তাদের বাড়ি থেকে উচ্ছেদ করবেনই। এ সময় স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী তার দলের লোকজনকে নিবৃত্ত না করে উল্টো বলেন, বাংলাদেশে জমিজিরাত দখলের ঘটনা ঘটছে, তাকে সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনের সঙ্গে তুলনা করা হচ্ছে কেন?

১২) বর্তমান সরকারের আমলে পটুয়াখালীর কলাপাড়া উপজেলা থেকে ২৫টি সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারকে উচ্ছেদ করা হয়েছে। দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে আওয়ামী লীগ কর্মীরা সংখ্যালঘুদের বাড়িঘর জবর-দখল করছেন।

১৩) ১৫ মে রাতের আধাঁরে মৌলভীবাজারের কুলাউড়ায় স্থানীয় এক আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা ও তার সহযোগীরা উপজেলার পানপুঞ্জির খ্রিস্টান সম্প্রদায়ের কবরস্থান দখল করে ক্রুশ গুঁড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন।

১৪)আওয়ামী লীগ, যুবলীগ ও ছাত্রলীগ নেতা-কর্মীদের নির্যাতনে অতিষ্ঠ হয়ে উঠেছেন তারা। হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজনের জায়গাজমি দখল করে নিচ্ছে সরকারদলীয় সন্ত্রাসীরা। নির্যাতিতরা অভিযোগ দিতেও ভয় পাচ্ছেন।

১৫) ২০০৯ সালের মে মাসে সাতক্ষীরার আবাদের হাটের ঘোষাল পরিবারের ৩৮ বিঘা জমি দখল করে নেয় যুবলীগের এক ক্যাডার ও তার সহযোগীরা। এ নিয়ে গণমাধ্যমে লেখালেখি শুরু হয়। ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত ঘোষাল পরিবার আইন আদালতের আশ্রয় নেয়।

১৬)২০০৯ সালের ৩১ মার্চ দেবহাটার কালাবাড়িয়ায় বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সুভাষ ঘোষের মালিকানাধীন ৩০০ বিঘার ঘের দখল করে নেয় ভূমিহীন আওয়ামী লীগ নামধারী সন্ত্রাসীরা। সুভাষ ঘোষ জানান, ১৯৭৯ সালে তার বাবা ওই জমি সরকারের কাছ থেকে নিলামে কেনেন। দখলে বাধা দিলে তার স্বজনদের পিটিয়ে আহত করা হয় ।

১৭)এদিকে গত মে মাসের ১৪ তারিখে কালিগঞ্জের উজয়মারিতে ২২টি সংখ্যালঘু পরিবারের জমি দখল করে নেন আওয়ামী লীগের আরেক কর্মী। এরপরই ওই জমিতে ইটভাটা তৈরির কাজ শুরু করেন তিনি। এতে বাধা দিতে গিয়ে জমির মালিক রমেশ মন্ডলসহ আহত হন তিনজন

১৮) এদিকে আরেক আওয়ামী লীগ নেতা শ্যামনগরের গোপালপুরের সুরেশ মন্ডলের দুই বিঘা জমি জোর করে দখল করে নিয়েছেন। তিনি সুরেশ মন্ডলের বিরুদ্ধে সাতক্ষীরা ও ফেনী আদালতে একাধিক মিথ্যা মামলাও করেছেন।

২০)লালমনিরহাটের সদর উপজেলার ভোলার চওড়া নামক গ্রামে গভীর রাতে ক্ষমতাসীনরা সংখ্যালঘু সমপ্রদায়ের (হিন্দুর ) মহাদেব ও কালীমায়ের মন্দিরে প্রবেশ করে প্রায় ভরি খানেক স্বর্ণালঙ্কার লুট করা ছাড়াও ভেঙ্গে দিয়েছে মহাদেব ঠাকুরের মূর্তি

ঠিক গত ২৮ তারিখে মাওলানা সাইদীর রায়ের পর একই ঘটনা ঘটেছে নোয়াখালীর বেগমগঞ্জে ও ঘটেছে . আওয়ামীলীগের লোকজন হিন্দু বাড়ি ও মন্দির ভেঙ্গে জামায়াত শিবির কর্মীদের হুমকি দিচ্ছে এবং চাদা আদায়ে বাধ্য করছে ..চাদা না দিলে জামায়াত শিবিরের কর্মীদের পুলিশ দিয়ে গ্রেপ্তার করানোর ও ভয় দেখানো হচ্ছে ..

বিস্তারিত খবরে জানা যায় ,মত্স্যজীবী লীগের নেতা ভূট্টো বিতর্কিত ছবিটি কেন সে ফেসবুকে শেয়ার করেছে জানতে চাইলে উত্তম বড়ুয়া উল্টো তার সঙ্গে খারাপ আচরণ করে। এ ঘটনায় ক্ষিপ্ত হয়ে আনছারুল হক ভূট্টো ‘তুমি দাঁড়াও, আমি আসছি’ বলে মোবাইল রেখে দেন।

সূত্রগুলোর মতে, মোবাইল রাখার পরপরই মত্স্যজীবী লীগ নেতা আনছারুল হক ভূট্টো তার দলীয় ছেলেদের খবর দেন। পরে রাত ১০টার দিকে প্রথম মিছিলটি বের করেন তিনিই। ওই মিছিল থেকে বিতর্কিত ছবি ট্যাগকারী উত্তম বড়ুয়ার শাস্তি দাবি করা হয়। ওই মিছিলে আনছারুল হক ভূট্টো ছাড়া জেলা ছাত্রলীগ সদস্য সাদ্দাম হোসেন, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক লীগের ফতেখাঁরকুল ইউনিয়ন সভাপতি আজিজুল হক, যুবলীগ নেতা সাব্বিরের ভাই হাফেজ মোহাম্মদসহ আওয়ামী লীগের অঙ্গসংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীরাই ছিলেন।

বৃটেনের ডেইলি টেলিগ্রাফ এ নিভৃতিচারী নামের একজন ও বাংলাদেশে সংখ্যালঘুদের উপর হামলা নিয়ে একটি কলাম প্রকাশ করে। যেখানে দেখা যাচ্ছে গত কয়েক বছর ধরে আওয়ামীলীগের লোকজন দ্বারাই সংখ্যালঘুদের উপর হামলার ঘটনা ঘটছে।

উপরোল্লখিত ঘটনাগুলো ঘটেছে সরকার দলীয় ক্যাডারদের মাধ্যমেই। যেহেতু এই অভিযোগগুলো সরকার দলের উপর, সরকারের উচিত সুষ্ঠ তদন্ত করে দোষীদের শাস্তির ব্যবস্থা করা , তারা এবার যেই দলেরই হোক না কেন।


মিডিয়ার ব্লেইম গেইম বা দোষারোপের রাজনীতি :

মিডিয়া হলো সমাজের আয়নার মত। কিন্তু বর্তমান সময়ে মিডিয়া আয়নার মত কাজ না করে কিভাবে মিডিয়ার নিজস্ব মতাদর্শের বাহিরের লোকজনকে হেনেস্তা করা যায় তা নিয়েই বেশির ভাগ সময় কাজ করছে। দেশে যেই কোনো হামলা , হিন্দুদের উপর নির্যাতন , কোনো রকম তদন্ত ছাড়াই জামায়াত শিবিরকে দোষারোপ করে যাচ্ছে মিডিয়া। এই যেন এক মুখস্ত বুলি। তবে এই সব মিডিয়া যে ১৮০ এঙ্গেলে উল্টে যায় তা দেখাবো আপনাদের এখন :

পাবনায় গত বছর ৪ ই নভেম্বর হিন্দুদের উপর হামলা হয়। কোনো তদন্ত ছাড়াই দেখা যায় জনকন্ঠ সহ অনেকগুলো পত্রিকা জামায়াত শিবিরকে দায়ী করে রিপোর্ট করে। জনকন্ঠের রিপোর্টে বলা হয় :

কক্সবাজারের রামুর সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনের ভয়াবহতার পর শনিবার একই কায়দায় পরিকল্পিতভাবে ফেসবুকে মহানবীকে কটূক্তির খবর ছড়িয়ে হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর আক্রমণ চালানো হয়েছে যুদ্ধাপরাধের দায়ে অভিযুক্ত জামায়াতের আমির মতিউর রহমান নিজামীর নির্বাচনী এলাকা পাবনার সাঁথিয়ায়। নিজামীর বিচারের কার্যক্রম এগিয়ে যাওয়ার মুখেই যেখানে গুজব ছড়িয়ে সংখ্যালঘুদের বাড়ি, ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠান ও মন্দিরে অগ্নিসংযোগ, ভাংচুরসহ তা-ব চালানো হয়েছে।

কিন্তু আসল খবর দেয় ৫ই নভেম্বর নয়াদিগন্ত। খবরে বলা হয় পাবনায় হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের বাড়িঘর ভাঙচুর :নেপথ্যে ছাত্রলীগের চাঁদাবাজি! প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী নাম প্রকাশ না করার শর্তে জানান, শনিবার বেলা ১১টার দিকে ক্ষেতুপাড়া ইউনিয়ন ছাত্রলীগের আহ্বায়ক জাকির হোসেন,

ছাত্রলীগ নেতা কাওসার হাবিব সুইট, মতির ছেলে খোকনসহ ১০-১২ জন যুবক প্রথমে ফেসবুকে স্ট্যাটাস দেয়ার একটি প্রিন্ট কপি বের করে বনগ্রাম বাজারে ছড়িয়ে দেয়। পরে বাবলু সাহার মুদিদোকানে গিয়ে তার ছেলে রাজিবের খোঁজ করে। পরে তাকে না পেয়ে দোকান ভাঙচুর করে স্থানীয় বাসিন্দারা জানান, বাবলু সাহা বনগ্রাম এলাকার একজন ধনাঢ্য ব্যবসায়ী।

বিভিন্ন সময় তার কাছে সন্ত্রাসীরা চাঁদা দাবি করত। দাবিকৃত চাঁদা দিতে রাজি না হলে তাকে বিভিন্ন সময় হুমকিও দিয়েছে সন্ত্রাসীরা। তারই ধারাবাহিকতায় ওই সন্ত্রাসী চক্র উদোর পিণ্ডি বুঁধোর ঘারে চাপাতে ধর্মীয় অনুভূতিতে আঘাত হানার মতো ঘটনাটি ঘটিয়েছে বলে তাদের ধারণা।

বিস্তারিত খবরে বলা হয় : Some of the alleged culprits of Saturday’s attack on Hindu community in Pabna were yesterday seen with State Minister for Home Shamsul Hoque Tuku and two lawmakers in the affected Bonogram village.

With Tuku, Disaster Management and Relief Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali and State minister for LGRD Jahangir Kabir Nanak visited Bonogram yesterday, four days after vandalism and looting of over 100 Hindu houses had taken place in Sahapara and Ghoshpara areas.

১২) যশোরে হামলা : যশোরের মনিরামপুর পৌর শহরের বিজয়রামপুর গ্রামের পালপাড়ার গৌরপালের কাছ থেকে সাত হাজার টাকা চাঁদা নিয়ে গেছে মুখোশধারীরা। আরও দুই লাখ টাকা দাবি করা হয়েছে। এ পাড়ার কুটিয়া রানীর চোখের সামনে রামদা উঁচিয়ে তারা বলে গেছে, সোমবার সন্ধ্যার মধ্যে তাঁর চাকরিজীবী ছেলেকে হাজির করতে হবে। না হলে বোমা মেরে বাড়িঘর উড়িয়ে দেওয়া হবে।

গতকাল রোববার নির্বাচনের রাতে মনিরামপুরের হিন্দুপাড়ায় গিয়ে সশস্ত্র মুখোশধারীরা এভাবেই শাসিয়েছে। এর আগের রাতে এ পাড়ার নিতাই পাল ও রতন পালের বাড়ির বিচালির গাদা ও গোয়াল ঘরে আগুন দিয়ে জ্বালিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে।

অন্যদিকে নৌকা প্রতীকে ভোট না দেওয়ায় যশোর-২ আসনের (ঝিকরগাছা-চৌগাছা) ঝিকরগাছা উপজেলার শ্রীরামপুর গ্রামের শ্রীকান্ত ঘোষ, পানিসারা গ্রামের চান্দুসহ অন্তত ১০ জনকে মারধর করা হয়েছে। ভয়ে পালিয়ে বেড়াচ্ছেন নাভারণ ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামী লীগের ক্রীড়া সম্পাদক শুকুর আলীর মতো অনেকে।

শুকুর আলী প্রথম আলোকে বলেন, ‘

আমার বায়সা গ্রামে সকালে একদল লোক মোটরসাইকেল নিয়ে ঢুকেছে। স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থীর কলস প্রতীকের পক্ষে যারা কাজ করেছে, তাদের খোঁজা হচ্ছে, এমন খবর পেয়ে আমি পালিয়ে বেড়াচ্ছি। বাড়িতে যেতে সাহস হচ্ছে না।’ নৌকা প্রতীকের লোকজন এ তাণ্ডব চালাচ্ছে বলেও তিনি জানান।

১৩) দুনিয়া কাপানো বিশ্বজিত হত্যাকান্ড :

উপরের উল্লখিত ঘটনাগুলোতে পর্যালোচনা করলে দেখা যায় অধিকাংশ ঘটনাগুলোর সাথে আওয়ামীলীগ জড়িত। সাথে সাথে বিরোধীদলের যেই সব লোকজন হামলার সাথে জড়িত তাদেরকে বিচারের আওতায় আনতে সরকারের কাছে আহ্বান করছি। যাতে বাংলাদেশে সংখ্যালঘুদের উপর হামলার কোনো ঘটনা না ঘটে।

কিছু আশার আলো :

সরকার বিরোধীদলকে এই সব ঘটনার জন্য দায়ী করলে ও বিরোধীদল হিন্দুদের উপর হামলার ঘটনা গুলো ভালোভাবে তদন্ত করতে আহ্বান করেছেন। আজকে ও বিএনপি জানিয়েছে , নির্বাচনের পর আক্রান্ত সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের নিরাপত্তার জন্য এলাকাভিত্তিক পাহারা বসানোর নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়েছে ।সূত্র : বিডিটুডে.নেট:সংখ্যালঘুদের রক্ষায় বিএনপি ‘পাহারায়’

জামায়াত গত ২৩ শে নভেম্বর হিন্দুদের উপর হামলার বিরুদ্বে বিক্ষোভ করেছিলো। বিক্ষোভ ঘোষণা দিয়ে জামায়াত নেতারা বলেন , বাংলাদেশে বসবাসকারী ধর্মীয় সংখ্যালঘুদের জানমাল ও উপাসনালয়ের নিরাপত্তা হীনতায় আমি গভীর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করছি। যখনই আওয়ামী লীগ ক্ষমতায় আরোহন করে তখনই তারা রাজনৈতিক প্রতিপক্ষকে বিশেষ করে জামায়াতÑশিবিরকে ঘায়েল করার হীন উদ্দেশ্যে দেশের সংখ্যালঘু হিন্দু, বৌদ্ধ, খ্রীস্টান সম্প্রদায়কে রাজনৈতিক দাবার গুটি হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে থাকে

১০ম নির্বাচনের পর হিন্দুদের উপর হামলার নিন্দা জানিয়ে জামায়াত বিবৃতি দিয়েছে। তারা বলেছে তারা সংখ্যালঘুদের মর্যাদা রক্ষার্থে তারা অঙ্গীকারবদ্ব।

এবং গত বছর দেখলাম শিবিরের ছেলেরা চৌদ্দগ্রামে মন্দির পাহারা দিয়েছে। যা আমাদেরকে শান্তিপুর্ন বাংলাদেশ গড়তে একটু হলে ও আশা যোগায়

কেন্দ্রীয় নেতৃত্বের নির্দেশে ছাত্রশিবিরের নেতা-কর্মীরা দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানের ধর্মীয় উপাসানালয় পাহারা দিচ্ছে। এরই অংশ হিসেবে কুমিল্লার চৌদ্দগ্রাম উপজেলায় হিন্দুদের কেন্দ্রীয় মহাশশ্মান মন্দিরের সামনে বসে তা পাহারা দিতে দেখা গেছে শিবির নেতা-কর্মীদের।

বর্তমান সরকারের কাছে ও আমাদের একই আহবান , রাজনৈতিকভাবে আপনারা এক না হতে পারলে ও অন্তত সংখ্যালঘু ইস্যুতে সবাই একমত হোন। রাজনীতিবিদদের প্রমিজ করা উচিত যে, আপনারা আর রাজনৈতিক সুবিধা আদায়ের জন্য হিন্দু কার্ড খেলবেন না। অন্তত তাদেরকে বিএনপি , আওয়ামীলীগ সহ সকল সন্ত্রাসীদের হাত থেকে রক্ষা করুন , আর বাংলাদেশকে একটি অসাম্প্রদায়িক দেশ হিসাবে বিশ্বের দরবারে পরিচয় করে দেশের ভাবমূর্তি উজ্জ্বল করুন। সরকারী দল হিসাবে আওয়ামীলীগের দ্বায়িত্ব এই ক্ষেত্রে সবচেয়ে বেশি।​
