It’s not normal in Iran dude. Things are different there. We do have a women’s national team. If it is sexist, why are there absolutely 0 coverage about men not being allowed to watch women's matches?
Definition of sexist:
characterized by or showing prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
So in Iran they say women can’t watch men’s matches, and likewise men can’t watch women’s matches.
According to definition, for something to be sexist it needs to fulfill at least one of the criteria above. Since it goes both ways, it’s not a sexist law.
A sexist law would be:
1. Women can’t watch soccer because women have no business playing soccer, meanwhile men can play.
2. Women can’t watch men’s games because they are women, but men can watch women’s games because they are men.
It’s not sexist when you divide the genders equally.
