Even the metropolises are not safe from the insane rage of these terrorists. Our condolences go to the families of the two police officers who died while foiling an attack on innocent civilians in Karachi. Four terrorists were killed! We are glad that the vigilance of the two police officers saved many innocents. We sometimes fail to realize that one terrorist attack may kill a few, but it affects many that are left behind mourning the dead. They are scarred forever.

What could be the purpose of attacks on civilians, if not to create mayhem and weaken the state? They are the real enemy of the people. Their tactics of fear and intimidation will not stop. Today, I again ask those who have an iota of support for these enemies of peace to think again and put themselves in the shoes of the family members of those two police officers. It is important to be vigilant and go after these terrorists. They are not only operating in some remote mountain village anymore, but are now openly attacking Pakistan’s economic hub. The sooner they are stopped and eliminated, the sooner peace and prosperity will return for all.

The two police officers who gave their lives in the line of duty are heroes indeed.

:salute:

I hope PDF starts a sticky for Police Personnel as they do for PA, PAF people who get killed in the line of action. I see many threads for pilots dying in air crashes ( not de-crying that) but donot see many (infact any) threads to show the individual police sacrifices.

Regards

Yes we should start atleast some one has to show them respect.... they deserve that!!! mods plzzz start a section with so we can make a database for all our heroes in this war on terror.

KARACHI: Five people, including the owner of the vehicle used in a suicide blast near Seaview in Karachi, were arrested from Hyderabad on Wednesday night.
The vehicle used in the Seaview suicide blast is registered to Maqbool Khokhar, a resident of the Khokhar Mohalla in Hyderabad.
The registration number of the vehicle is CN-5294.
Police and intelligence officials arrested five people including Maqbool Khokhar and his son, in a late-night raid in Hyderabad.
Police have shifted the suspects to an unknown location for investigation.
According to the police, no report of a stolen vehicle has been registered in any police station.
Four suicide bombers blew themselves up in their car when intercepted by police on Wednesday night in Karachi, also killing two policemen.
Police signalled a car to stop at a checkpoint, but the driver sped away and police chased them, he said, adding that when police cornered the vehicle, its occupants blew it up.
“We have found a suicide vest with explosives, hand grenades and other things from the wreckage of the vehicle,” senior police official Shaukat Hussain told AFP.
“We have also found some human limbs and investigating if these were of another suicide bomber,” he added.
Karachi has a history of suicide bombings and attacks on religious parades and Sufi shrines.

Karachi beachfront blast kills six

KARACHI: An unlikely explosion in an unlikely destination killed two police constables and at least four suspected terrorists under mysterious circumstances in Karachi’s posh Sea View locality near the Village restaurant on Wednesday night at around 10:30pm.
While police claimed that the heroics of their two constables Maula Bakhsh and Mamraiz Iqbal thwarted a major terrorist attack in the city, it remained unclear under what circumstances the heavily armed terrorists decided to blow themselves up. The suspected terrorists not only outnumbered the policemen, they also outgunned them by a mile.

A suicide jacket, grenades and Kalashnikov rifles all believed to be with the terrorists were also recovered from the crime scene. The two police constables carried just two standard AK-47s with them. Three bodies of the terrorists were found intact and were left at the crime scene till the filing of this report. However, officials said the terrorists could number five since a dismembered head with shoulder length hair, called a wig by some TV channels, was also recovered from the spot.

Home Minister Manzoor Wasan claimed that the two police constables first chased the terrorists, engaged them when they refused to stop and when they were cornered, the terrorists panicked and blew themselves up. He announced Rs2 million for the slain policemen, one of whom – Mamraiz Iqbal – died later at the hospital.

“We had information that terrorists were planning attacks during Muharram, but we didn’t realise that they would plan to do something much earlier,” Wasan said.

District South DIG Commandant Shaukat Ali Shah told The Express Tribune that the crime scene suggested that at least four terrorists were killed in an explosion. He said that the suicide jacket worn by one of the terrorists may have exploded by mistake destroying the car in which they were travelling. “It appears that the terrorists used the same type of suicide jackets that the terrorists involved in the PNS Mehran base attack used,” he said.

The DIG said one could not say for sure what exactly was the target of the attackers since the DHA houses a number of high security zones, including consulates.

While the bodies of the policemen were immediately shifted to the hospital, those of the suspected terrorists were left there at the spot. The suspected terrorists were dressed in shalwar kameez and sported medium sized beards. Forensics teams collected fingerprints from the dead bodies.

There were unconfirmed TV reports that the car used by the suspects bearing registration number 5294 was owned by Maqbool Ahmed Khokar. A reported Identity card of one of the suspects, night vision goggles and first aid box were also recovered. Police officials who spoke with The Express Tribune however did not confirm the TV reports.

KARACHI: A suspected suicide bomber blew himself up in a Karachi neighbourhood on Friday during a search operation by the paramilitary Rangers, an official said.
There was no immediate report of any other damage.
A man blew himself up in an apartment in Gulistan-e-Johar area, due to fear of getting arrested.
The Ranger’s personnel investigating the scene said the man has been identified to be a foreigner, but no other detail regarding his identity has yet been established. Initial reports suggested that the man was of Czech or Afghan origin, but SP Asad Chaudhry said this could not be confirmed

Police officials took the alleged bomber’s his wife and children under custody and the investigations are under way.
Police and Rangers have been conducting several operations against criminals and suspected target killers in the country’s biggest city, and have arrested dozens of people in recent weeks.
