And I have personally seen how Urdu speakers are treated in Punjab. They call us Hindustanis there and question our loyalty. It looks like Pakistan was made only for Punjabis. No one else should have even come to this land.
I agree Mehru ji with your assessment 100%. I personally feel the Urdu speaking people in Punjab are much more integrated into 'mainstream Pakistan' than the Urdu speaking people in Karachi are. Urdu speaking people in Karachi are found in huge numbers, so they stay in their own groups. Same is for the Shias, the Shias of Karachi only stay with each other. However, speaking as an Urdu speaking person who has lived in Islamabad & Lahore, the Urdu speaking people in Punjab are much more integrated with Punjabis & other ethnicities. I am also fluent in Punjabi, even though it is not my 1st language. No one mentions that I am Shia or an Urdu speaking person. No one who loves Pakistan can be called a Hindustani by any Pakistani ethnicity. I've never heard any Urdu speaking people (besides maybe Hoodbhoy on TV for obvious reasons, although I respect his opinion but don't agree with him at all) being called a Hindustani. I still feel that more understanding between the different ethnicities of Pakistan needs to be developed, but this comes from talking, establishing unity & expressing our love for Pakistan. This is why our religious identity is important for us. Because our religious identity is our national identity, & without the religious aspect in our national identity, our ethnic differences/clashes > national identity. Although I personally feel being a Pakistani is & should be enough, but the religious identity integrated into our national identity ensures we don't face huge problems from ethnic clashes in the country.
I have no problem with anyone who supports MQM. I personally don't like them.
However what you are saying is very disturbing. Noone hates urdu speakers. You don't see any target killing here because of ethnicity. Punjabis have big heart. Being a Punjabi, i have never questioned anyone. Racist people exist everywhere. Ignore them. If anyone questions your loyality then question them first. Replying to the racist post in the same racist way will make you no different. Infact you are justifying their racism.
Besides your assessment is far from truth. It must be your individual experience but my Urdu speaking friends never said such things. People of all ethnicities live in each other provinces. Noone had a problem with that. Why you have it? Anyone good for you. You found a racist match here like Omar.
