Infact the hypocrisy of Congress leaders even before the independence paved the way for rightwing nationalism.
1921 Mappila riot due to caliphate issues thats happened in other part of the world turned then Congress leader Hedgewar to right wing and he established RSS.
But still RSS wasnt interested in politics .
During early years after independence election was based on development .
Later Congress values began to degrade ,they know they could pull a vote bank if they appease minority political religious leaders .
At ground level minorities also remained poor.
1987 Shah Bano case was the turning point.
Majority began to think other way after that .Because of that a party(again established by former congress leaders) that had only two seats in 1984 became the ruiling party in 1998.
Congress still follow the same .
And then after that free fall for them.

India’s leading party, the BJP, wasn’t afraid of using the country’s star power to shore up support during its divisive election campaign.

Cant understand what is the problem of TRT?
Indians elected their leaders and our PM told his countrymen ,may be they are celebrities , to encourage voters to vote.

We Indians didnt see any problem in that .

But i still fail to see, where is the appeasement? What policies have been used by the Indian State to appease the Muslim Population, or in fact give them more rights then the majority Hindu population?

Based on what i am reading online, it appears that after Modi's victories, the right wing hindu nationalists have been emboldened and they have been lashing out at the Muslim population. But i would off course want your POV, since you guys are on the ground.

Kamal Nath’s police arrest victims as video of Hindutva terrorists thrashing Muslim man in Madhya Pradesh go viral

The incident allegedly took place in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh on 22 May. But the arrest of five accused was made on 24 May after videos went viral on social media platforms. In two videos being shared on social media, a group of Hindutva terrorists are seen mercilessly thrashing the two men before forcing one of the men to thrash the woman. The violent Hindutva mob also forced them to chant Jai Shri Ram.

The three victims have been identified as Taufik, Anjum Shama and Dilip Malviya. Police have also arrested all three victims before sending them to judicial custody. The victims were arrested on 22 May, while their perpetrators were arrested two days only after a huge outrage on social media. Three victims are being accused of carrying beef in an autorickshaw and a two-wheeler from Khairi village.

Madhya Pradesh has a Congress government led by Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Sending victims to judicial custody caused plenty of anger on Twitter. Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti condemned the incident. “Horrified to see cow vigilantes thrash an innocent Muslim with such impunity in MP. Hope Kamal Nath takes swift action against these goons,” she tweeted.

LOL! Dude what are you talking about? The situation of Muslim themselves is worse in Pakistan, the security situation for them is poor. Do you think anyone seem to care what happens inside your country? The sooner you realize nobody cares about all that, the better. Well. The Triple Talaq, Niqah halala or polygamy for example. Or underage marriage permitted though the rule is semi arbitrary. Some states enforce it and some enforce only if complaints register. RSS and other extreme right wing has the grouse that while Hindus are forced to follow nearly Uniform Civil Code while Muslims arent. Like getting divorce is easy for Muslims and tough for Hindus. And allowance for divorced women for example.

The greatest grouse however is the political parties especially Congress lack of protest at crimes in Muslim Majority areas where the target's were Hindus while protesting vociferously when Muslims are attacked anywhere. And not opposing Muslims Mullah's for ridiculous fatwas and even sat silent when some Mullah's mentioned singing national songs are haram. Mullah's have created more harm for normal Muslims than RSS, sadly. Then there is NRC in Assam. The exponential rise of Bangladeshi influx in Assam and WB which the Congress govt never raised their voice about. These kinda things creates grouse in the minds of average right wing.

Now if the truly secular parties had risen voice then and there, BJP wouldnt even have risen. All thanks must go to Rajiv Gandhi.

Appeasement a lots of it .
Not for minority people but for their corrupt religious people and elites .
Malageon Case was one of it to appease minorities .
A case that was build on fake evidence.
Malegeon Case was initially enquired by ATS due to pressure from Congress they framed Hindu religious leaders .
And one Army official was also framed but as per Military police it was a fake one so he is still full bird Col in Army.
Then NIA under same Congress enquired it again and found it was a fake one.
But damage was already done .

Donot trust what some fake media account,Anti bjp ,or medias saying .
They have lost their manipulative power already.
