Am being serious!......there was an indian member who said that there was an ancient temple where the taj mahal now stands and as far i could tell , he was taking about taking down the taj mahal and rebuilding the temple.

The BJP and building temples is connected to the post...... so i am not trolling.

I am aware of the statement. There is no majority support for that theory. Hell non pdf hindus might not even be aware of that.
Just cos one member said that, its not good, to talk about that in this topic, which is about Sita temple in SL, unconnected with India, Taj mahal or any other place.

Screw the temples....I would prefer if for once a govt. would promise to build schools and invest in educational infrastructure instead of a useless temple...

I dont know why your laughing?.......there had been idols in the kabba for a long time. I dont know about shivas temple being underneath but there is some parts of an idol buried in the precincts.

To be honest there is less evidence to point out there was a temple before Taj Mahal. But even if it is, i believe, history should be left as such.

No Sri Lankans do not..there can be one in a million who believes it but for 99% for Sri lankans its more of a fairy tale..Most people don`t even know the whole story...+ MOST buddhist in SL don`t go to kovil but some do...In buddhism there is nothing called GOD , but there are exceptions s some believe in gods (still most are different from Indian gods) thats mainly due to Influence of Hinduism
