KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and his father, party co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari have been invited to US President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration slated for Jan 20.


Party sources confided to ARY News that the father-son duo got an invite to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Democrat Joe Biden scheduled to take place on January 20.

After hundreds of President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in a harrowing assault on American democracy on Jan 6, a shaken Congress formally certified Biden’s election victory.


Immediately after the certification, the White House released a statement from Trump in which he pledged an “orderly transition” on Jan. 20 when Biden will be sworn into office.

After debate the Senate and the House of Representatives rejected two objections to the tally and certified the final Electoral College vote with Biden receiving 306 votes and Trump 232 votes

Zardari gave him a Hilal-e-Pakistan for his support for democracy in Pakistan. So it’s only fair they go an observe (maybe they will learn something).

Joe’s advisors may want to backup Zardari and the PPP, but Imran Khan and his team need to layout the facts and work on convincing him that backing the PPP is counterproductive (at the expense of other parties) to building up democracy in Pakistan. Some them how PPP actually governed, and how they undermined democracy through nepotism and stealing the funds for the programs that give people employment and hope.

A lot of Biden’s advisors are policy wonks. If they are being honest, they will see (after a Comprehensive PTI presentation), that the current government is upholding common principles, and is the best partner to work with in building up democratic institutions.

Hussain Haqqani needs to be exposed To Biden directly and shown to be working for India, through the evidence from the EUdisinfo lab. The comparison must be made to show the PPP like Trump and the Indians like the Russians. Then Biden will see that supporting Zardari is like being against Pakistan.

If they are being told to back the PPP, for old times sake (democrats have sided with the PPP for decades), then they need to be dissuaded that Pakistan will not allow itself to be undermined; paid color revolution style. Attempts to do so will push Pakistan to concede more to the Chinese, and be counterproductive to efforts vis a vi cooperation on Afghan peace talks.

PTI will need to work hard to show Biden a new path, one where PTI is standing up to corruption and trying to build institutions that ensure spending on the people, not stealing money to enrich themselves, and protection of minorities. PTI needs to show it is building a Naya Pakistan on the example of the Prophet SAW.
