Bilawal wishes ‘good luck’ to PTI protesters
By Web Desk
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has wished ‘good luck’ to protesters led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for accountability movement against the government.
The movement launched by the PTI is aimed at forcing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family to face accountability following revelations of their names in Panama Papers.
In a tweet, Bilawal said democratic right of protest should encouraged instead of being punished. Though Bilawal didnt name PTI in his tweet, but welcomed the initiative launched by the latter.
The PPP leader said Panama Papers has “exposed Sharif’s corruption”. He said that the government must now accept terms of references (ToR) proposed by the opposition or face the music.
PPP leader Saeed Ghani told ARY News that PPP was in contact with other parties on ToRs. He said in case government didn’t agree to opposition demands, they could unite under one banner to launch a movement.
PTI spokesman Naeem-ul-Haq has welcomed Bilawal’s statement on the ‘accountability movement’.
