A commonality in all prosperous and developed societies is the presence of a well-established and reliable infrastructure. This includes a wide network of interconnected roads that stretch across the entire breadth of a country’s frontiers. As Pakistan slowly evolves into a promising developing nation more and more roads are being laid to facilitate both trade and commerce and a smooth travel experience for all Pakistanis. However, what compliments an excellent road network is the fuel that powers vehicles to successfully deliver a top-notch experience to its drivers. PSO is one brand that is dedicated to delivering that promise.

The fact that Pakistan is prospering today can be witnessed by the exemplary precedents being set by Pakistani females. These females take it upon themselves to break free from the repressive societal attitudes that chained previous generations of women before them. One such example is that of Guliafshan Tariq – the girl who broke a record and travelled over 1000 km in Pakistan in merely nine days.

Throughout the course of her journey, which spanned across the remote regions of Pakistan, she withstood many obstacles like the harsh temperature, high altitudes and rough terrains and elevations. However, she refused to be undeterred and continued her journey all the way till the Khunjerab Pass. By her endeavour, Guliafshan became a role model and inspiration to countless girls who are attempting to create their own identity and follow their dreams.

Partnered with PSO, Guliafshan embarked on yet another expedition – Journey through Punjab. Guliafshan’s journeys, which were undertaken on her motorbike, would not have been possible without the right fuel.

Commencing her trip from the city of Attock, Guliafshan was quite fascinated to witness the two distinct colours of the rivers Kabul and Indus. Gallivanting through Chiniot, a city famous for Chinioti furniture, she made her way towards Multan where she explored intricate blue-pottery handicrafts. Post Multan, Guliafshan traversed through the touristy places of Lahore which included the iconic Badshahi Mosque and Minar-e-Pakistan.

At reaching Sheikhupura, the biker was completely enraptured by Hiran Minar as it transported her back to the Mughal era. The foremost highlight of the trip was the warm hospitality of the people she experienced through her excursion from Dera Ghazi Khan to Fort Munro. She not only witnessed the truck making art in Dera Ghazi, but also fulfilled her dream of driving the hefty vehicle.

Fort Munro

Fort Munro, also known as Tuman Leghari, is beautiful hill station in the Sulaiman Mountain Range in Southern Punjab at an altitude of 6,470 feet above sea level, in Dera Ghazi Khan. It is located at the distance of 85 km from Dera Ghazi Khan city on Quetta Road. It is favourite spot in summary due to its cool and pleasant atmosphere.

There is chairlift and cable car to attract more tourist in this area, between Fort Munro and Khar.

The Guliafshan’s example has heightened the interest in people to explore Pakistan vis-à-vis road trips and specifically on motorbikes. In order to see Pakistan in all its glory it makes sense that one should travel along roads which allow one to truly immerse oneself in the beautiful and raw surroundings of our country. It also serves as a roadmap for a more progressive Pakistan which enables its women to travel safely and freely across the country, in order to bring their dreams to fruition.

Hey @Arsalan if I posted this same story with the thread title "Fat chick with connections escorted in safety around the country" would that be too much? :D
