Biden starts infrastructure bet with US far behind China

.
All technologies develop and progress with time, if American minds are stuck in the time of 100 years ago, this is a real problem for a country's future.

Your AI isnt going to get a train to your front door. Our AI already does get transportation to our front doors.

If you are happy with crappy US infrastructure and rats infested subways, it's fine with us.

Probably the main reason most city subway tunnels aren't filled in is because it would cause an uproar with lower income people. The Boston subway mostly serves lower income people. They don't have the ridership levels to pay for the costs since most business people moved to the suburbs. They can't raise fares to make up for it for fear of further ridership losses.

I wonder if most Americans think that US infrastructures are ok as you do.

I think most city infrastructure is a wreck. This is because 75 years ago they had plenty of residents making good money to tax to pay for their upkeep (like China is today). However when incomes rose and people could afford to move out of multiunit apartments into single family homes in the new suburbs; cities lost their primary tax base and were left with high levels of low income people. This increased their social services cost and depleted their revenue streams. This killed their budgets leading to infrastructure degradation.

LOl, China doesn't have revenue problem and people are getting rich fast, bascially what is happening in China is everything opposite to what you wish for.

That's because your money is focused towards cities while ours is focused away from cities. While you are clearing out centuries old villages and moving them to new urban settings we are migrating out of old urban settings into new housing and infrastructure in new suburbs.

We did your migration to cities over 100 years ago. Now they are the old stuff. We are going the other way.

China is urbanizing fast, villages and town are becoming cities, with top notch facilities and public service.

Chinese villages and small town are being upgraded fast and Chinese cities won't be like crumbling US cities in the future, most Chinese cities are at least over a thousand years , but it's not the excuse to be crappy and rundown.

Apparently you never walked through the Chinese urban villages of yesteryear.
