Biden starts infrastructure bet with US far behind China

Some people can be so ordinary yet so arrogant. Observing people on both sides of "GFW", I am always wondering who exactly are the brainwashed bunch, and which side is considered as "inside of the wall".

this isn't new. It is just the veil provided by Internet that enables people to reveal more about their real selves. People don't show that when communicating face to face.
Americans are not as disciplined as they were. Just as Russians are not as disciplined as they were. Just as Japanese are not as disciplined as they were. Currently Chinese are the most disciplined.
Disciplined is a very confused word. During WWII, Japanese said the same thing about Americans. Being disciplined can also be the appearance of being sheepish, lack of initiative and creativity. I don't hold too much value in this word.

Posted Jul 18, 2015, and no one knows when it was filmed, why don't you post some footage from Qing dynasty? is it the best thing you can come up with?

What you think all that rundown happened in a weekend and was quickly fixed? It looks to be very old. Sure maybe they finally razed it and put up a modern apartment building since then just like they finally did in much of China.

That doesn't mean there's never rundown areas in China.

There's rundown area in every country, when I lived in Brooklyn,New York, the whole Brooklyn city seems to be pretty rundown.

China's poverty alleviation program demolished most unsafe and condemned buildings and moved hundreds of millions poor people into newly built government houses in the last couples of years, I don't think US has similar nationwide program and that's why we can see homeless people in US remain homeless and sleep on the streets, In China I haven't spotted any homeless person for years already in Beijing.

All those public housing projects you probably saw in Brooklyn...why do you think they were built instead of shopping malls?

There are many reasons for "street people" such as being a criminal. They aren't going to put you in a building with families.

These are really bad looking buildings. Not even as good as the westernmost Chinese town which only has a few thousands people.

China may pass the US temporarily but I am afraid that the US will no doubt surpass China due to a simple reason- Immigration Population.

With Chinas population decline, its economy will no doubt be impacted. Sure new infrastructure is great but whats the use if no one is there to build or use it? China will have no choice but to increase its level of foreign immigration dramatically if it wants to become the worlds largest economy.

Not a problem. US will gain Latino immigrants, China gains Southeast Asian immigrants.

As US becomes more Latino, it will look more like Mexico or Argentina.

As China becomes more Southeast Asian, it will look more like Singapore.
I think most city infrastructure is a wreck. This is because 75 years ago they had plenty of residents making good money to tax to pay for their upkeep (like China is today). However when incomes rose and people could afford to move out of multiunit apartments into single family homes in the new suburbs; cities lost their primary tax base and were left with high levels of low income people. This increased their social services cost and depleted their revenue streams. This killed their budgets leading to infrastructure degradation.

Then how come suburban roads are also shit?

One issue is also the labor cost in a highly mature economy like the US.

.
There is no issue as far as money is concern. The recent USD 1.9 trillion alone can build 190 5nm fab for Intel, or 30 Da Xing airport. If not enough print another 10 trillion more.

It is very clear that USA elites and leaders are hollowed out of IQ. Nothing can be done even if USA still manage to attract the highest IQ.

Read my words carefully and pay close attention to "polarized political spectrum". Any group of people can successfully manage any long term projects so long as they are united in their goals. Democracy has nothing to do with it. But a democracy without much unity inevitably leads to bickering, which is the primary enemy of long-term projects.

Oh, by the way, wide body jets are created by private companies which happen to be in democratic countries. But the achievement of private companies shouldn't be attributed to democracy, should it? And NASA is probably one of a few areas that has bipartisan support, although not as strong as what it had in space race.

What you intentionally misinterpret "polarized political spectrum" is actually a fair system of checks and balances that not only works very well, but also adapts and self-corrects on a continual basis. Ever wonder why creativity of all kinds, including that in private companies, flourishes so well in USA? The Chinese communist system is a straitjacket that will inevitably ossify.

US has adopted a fair system of checks and balances since the beginning. It was only recently when they talked more about polarized political spectrum. There is apparently a difference between the two.
