It doesn't do away the facts, those money are peanuts for ASEAN. US need to give more if they really want to lure ASEAN away from China. USD150 billion sounds better.

It's indeed peanuts, but US investments are never driven by their government anyway. Their companies play a much larger role in the economic development of ASEAN. Eg, the US has more than $300bil worth of FDI in SG alone, providing high quality jobs, capital, expertise, technology.
