Biden makes $150m commitment to Asean leaders

It doesn't do away the facts, those money are peanuts for ASEAN. US need to give more if they really want to lure ASEAN away from China. USD150 billion sounds better. :enjoy:

We take everything bro. If the Turks give Asean $1 million then it’s great too.

It's indeed peanuts, but US investments are never driven by their government anyway. Their companies play a much larger role in the economic development of ASEAN. Eg, the US has more than $300bil worth of FDI in SG alone, providing high quality jobs, capital, expertise, technology.

.
What he meant was that $150 million revealed the poor financial situation of the U.S. govt.

ASEAN is China's largest trading partner, but USA can only pay a few McDonald's.
That’s a misunderstanding. US has the money if there isn’t they can print it. About trades, it’s great good for you however trade is just a part of the whole picture.

You are bad in math. Go back to school.
By the way Asean has 10 not 20 members. $150 million is better than $0.

The money is used to lure billions USD private investments. Please do more readings.

Reading your posts. It's not a wonder Europeans have their balls in Americans' hands. We raise you like pigs in the pens. We decide to install camera and listening devices and you make no complaint. Good boy!! LOL..

Businesses go where the market is. It used to be the US market and the White House could just lure business investment with seed money. Not any more. Which country is the largest trading partner with SE Asian countries now? Which is S Korea's? Japan's?

Don't be so upset.

Good for you. Investment money tends to be higher in Singapore. You are a Hightech manufacturing base. Making chips requires more dollars than making shoes.

What's more important is the quality of investment which can create meaningful jobs for our people and improve our economic base. We actually reject a lot of projects which could've brought in more FDI. After all we are a small country with limited labor and land. We can't chase numbers without doing a cost-benefit analysis.

lol, 150 million and yet still a Commitment split between 10 countries, at the same time, 40 billion for Ukraine.
What better than 0, dude, you are old enough to know there is no free lunch, even though it's just some fish and chips.

What you expect from bankrupt failed states like that. They even cannot produce baby formula for their own babies.

This is worse than Venezuela

.
150 million split between 10 ASEAN countries? You can probably get a real fancy powerpoint presentation and a steak dinner in each country.
