Why it is being kept by India if its a not a real country ? Why not the annexure to faciliate access to the North East ? :azn:

Sorry , that is your assumption which cant be proved unless it happens so

Bangladesh or anything related to Bangladesh don't worth any thread in Indian defence section. It will only pollute it . And could turn it polluted and crap section like bangladesh defence section.

It's not the topic of the thread but the likes of you that actually pollute every forum with their off-topic stereotyped posts.

We understand this is the maximum level of your intellectual capacity/creativity and we can only feel sorry for you.

It is now obligatory for the Muslims of Arakan to wage Jihad. It is also mandatory for all Muslims to come to thier aid.

Arakani Mujahids are waiting on an expectation that BD will someday arm them to fight against the Burmese occupiers of their land. We saw some actions by Sk. Mujib, Zia and the MUA, that's all. The GoB must adopt a comprehensive plan on Burma vis-a-vis Arakan and the Burmese treatment of muslims in that occupied land. What is our DGFI is doing in this regard? Why do not they read many news in blogs, newspapers and facebooks to know the thinking of Arakani Muslims?

Lol at Bangladeshis dreams of waging Jihad in Myanmar. Don't forget your own Myanmar border region was insurgency ridden not too long ago. Myanmar will tear you guys a new one if you try such shenanigans.

In the mean time you lots can start treating your fellow Muslim brethren a bit better than this maybe?

All of the chittagong distract will belong to Myanmar soon a banana republic like bangladesh is simply to weak to defend itself from Myanmar.

I understand your sarcasm. But, BD is certainly not that weak. Issue here is leadership. With less than 100,000 troops with broken rifles President Zia challenged India with good results. BD was infested with many contesting groups in the military during the time of Sk. Mujib. Yet, he threatend Myammar in a meeeting with Ne Win. He said his LA troops are waiting for an order to penetrate Arakan if Burma is unwilling to treat theMuslims there well. The medicine worked.

So, it is the question of tough leadership. Our two leaders without balls are good for nothing, they cannot stand against any country. The last we have seen of courage when Gen. Moeen sent naval ships in 2008 to force Burma withdraw from our sea. It is not Ctg. that the Burmese will occupy. It is Arakan and its oil/gas that BD will occupy if there is a correct leadership.

Burma cannot fight a war with BD. Arakan is protected by a long mountain range (Yuma?). If the few connecting roads are occupied by the Arakanese it would destroy the backbone of the Myammar army. It will be deprived of logistics supplies.

Cool story bro.

Martial law in Myanmar district

Authorities imposed martial law in an area of Myanmar's western Rakhine State on Saturday after Muslims allegedly torched hundreds of houses and killed at least five people.

State media announced that Maung Thaw district, about 230 kilometres west of Yangon, was under a dusk-to-dawn curfew.

One official claimed the attackers came from a "neighbouring country".

"Nineteen shops, 386 houses and one hotel were burned," said a statement on President Thein Sein's official website. "Four men and a woman were killed with knives."

The exact number of casualties was hard to determine as many villagers had fled to the hills, villagers said.

"Around 100 people were injured," said Zaw Than, a resident of Maung Thaw. "Soldiers are still searching for victims who are hiding in the hills."

Vice President Sai Mauk Khen flew to Rakhine to inspect the scene. Troops were fully deployed and military doctors have been sent by plane to the area.

Armed Rohingya came early on Saturday morning "to destroy and burn down the villages", a Myanmar official told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"They came from the neighbouring country by boats."

The rampage was reportedly sparked when Muslims attacked a Buddhist funeral procession.

Six days earlier, a mob killed 10 Muslims in nearby Taunggup to avenge the rape and murder of a local woman, allegedly by Muslims.

Police detained three Muslim suspects.

The mob of 300 people attacked a bus carrying some Muslim passengers from nearby Thandwe to Yangon, killing 10 and destroying the vehicle.

Rakhine State borders Bangladesh, which is mostly Muslim. It is home to large numbers of Rohingya, a Muslim group described by the UN as one of the world's most persecuted minorities.

Myanmar, which considers the stateless Rohingya as foreigners and not one of its ethnic groups, has an estimated 750,000 Rohingya, living mainly in Rakhine, according to the UN.

Another one million or more are believed to live in exile in other countries.

Border watch intensified
Star Report

The Border Guard Bangladesh has increased patrolling and vigilance along the border with Myanmar in the wake of a riot between Rohingya Muslims and majority Buddhists in the neighbouring country.

"The patrolling has been intensified and forces have been made alert more than the normal process so that the violence in the neighbouring country does not affect border security", Maj Gen Anwar Hossain, director general of BGB, told The Daily Star yesterday evening.

Quoting the Myanmarese media, AFP reported that sectarian violence between Buddhists and Muslims had left at least seven dead.

Police and military units deployed in Rakhine state -- which borders Bangladesh -- had "systematically controlled" unrest, which erupted on Friday and saw hundreds of Buddhist villagers' homes set ablaze, state television said and added, "Stability has been restored since Saturday morning."

Unrest flared on Friday when at least four Buddhists were killed in riots in Rakhine, home to large numbers of Rohingya, a stateless Muslim group described by the UN as one of the world's most persecuted minorities.

AFP said, according to government officials, a second wave of violence swept through remote villages early yesterday, as more Rakhine homes were torched, forcing villagers to flee to temporary shelters in Maungdaw town.

Security forces flooded western Myanmar yesterday to prevent further outbreaks of sectarian violence between Buddhists and Muslims which have left at least seven dead, according to state media.

Two government officials said armed Rohingya had burned Rakhine villages in the early hours of yesterday.

"They came from the neighbouring country by boats," one of the officials told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity, hinting at Bangladesh.

Talking to The Daily Star, BGB chief Maj Gen Anwar Hossain rejected the allegation of the Myanmar official outright.

Myanmar, which considers the Rohingya as foreigners and not one of the nation's ethnic groups, has an estimated 750,000 Rohingya, living mainly in Rakhine, according to the UN.

Bangladesh is not to allow Rohingya entrance into its territory. It must talk straight to the govt of Burma to take back all its citizens. Bangladesh is weak to confront even a country like Burma, let alone India, a much stronger country. A weak Bangladesh cannot survive in the long run.

Burma is watching our meek behaviour since after Ziaur Rahman. Sk. Mujib was very straightforward towards that country. Burma started to expel the Rohingyas in thousands after the death of Zia.

All our govts have been sending wrong signals since then that show we are a cowardly people. We are not tough enough to face a Burmese challenge. Bangladesh should not accept refugees. GoB must sit with Burma and talk about all the pending issues that include also the returning of refugees.
Absolutely,Rohinga's are not pur part, they have to return back on burma.
