They are already neutralized and minority if you count the Bengali hindus as well. In 3 decades Assam will be muslim majority and with a significant bengali hindus who are fed up with people like @Axomiya_lora as well along with the rapid economic growth of Bangladesh most of them will opt to join Bangladesh. It is a lost cause of Assam and other NE Indian states to stay in India.
