After winning the Sea area boundary of BOB from international court now Bangladesh are double size than before. So for maritime strike Su 30 MK2 would be the best choice & with this Russian bird J 10B from China is the perfect match for BAF fleet. Good advantage for geo politically & few technical advantage if both aircraft will buy.

Su 30 MK2
It has a length of 21.9m, a height of 6.4m and wing-span of 14.7m. The maximum and limit take-off weights are 34,500kg and 38,000kg respectively, and the payload carrying capacity is 8,000kg.The Su-30MK2 is fitted with an in-flight refuelling system for extended flight range. The airborne radar aboard the Su-30MK2 is capable of searching and designating aerial targets, as well as short and medium-range guided missiles. The Su-30MK2 combat aircraft is attached with 12 hardpoints under the wings and fuselage to carry a range of missiles, bombs and rockets. It also integrates a built-in, 30mm GSh-301 automatic, single-barrelled gun with 150 rounds of ammunition. The medium-range air-to-air missiles carried by the Su-30MK2 include R-27T1, R-27ET1 with infrared homing, R-27R1, R-27ER1 with semi-active radar homing, R-27P1, R-27EP1 with passive IR homing, RVV-AE with active radar homing, and R-73E with all-aspect IR passive homing.

J-10B
The fixed armament of the J-10B includes an internally-mounted Type 23-3 twin-barrel 23mm cannon, located on the port side of the front landing gear. The gas-operated cannon has a combat weight of 50.5kg, a length of 1,530mm, and a maximum rate of fire of 3,000~3,4000 rounds/minute. The cannon fires 320g, 23X200mm high-explosive/incendiary with tracer round and armour-piercing round, with a muzzle velocity of 715m/s. The cannon is electric-driven using 27V 8A DC. The J-10B has 12 hard points. For air-superiority and interception missions, the J-10 could carry a mix of medium-range air-to-air missiles (MRAAM), short-range air-to-air missiles (SRAAM). The J-10B can also carry laser-guided bombs (LT-2), glide bombs (LS-6) and unguided bombs.

Why does BD need so many planes. Just spend on your economy and HDI and be a nice country. You have borders with India only with whom you have no issues.

And with India, BD is going to or have signed a treaty to protect Bd in time of war etc.. so BD clearly don't need more planes but they need to make you happy only :D :D :D

I am not a Bangladeshi so don't tell me about your happiness. I am from the country who damn care about your happiness and any other one because we possess one of the best defense capabilities in the world..

I hope BD will choose this badass cameo this time instead of gay cameo that we are using now.

J-10B would certainly be a nice addition for BAF, I don't see Bangladesh operating a meaningful number of Su-30s.

Why do you think we wont have significant numbers? If we order the planes in the next couple of years, they will arrive sometime between 2019-2021 and we will pay for them over 10-15 years.

Bangladesh has a economy over $245bn now, and we spend less then 1.6% of our GDP on defence. Because of this we end up using the bulk of it on salaries and maintenence leaving little on capital. By 2030 (13 years time) our GDP will have grown to at least $693bn and even if we maintain a low 1.6% defence budget, that will be over $11bn....more then enough for several squadrons of each. Don't look at the BAF based on the past buying pattern, look at its purchasing capacity in the next decade and half.

Should we buy 32 Su's (in batches of 8) over 10-15 years, would mean repayments of less then $150m over the next 15 years.

BAF will operate 10 squadron of 4++ generation combat aircraft (4 multirole+ 6 air superiority)by 2030.This is our firm policy enshrined in 'forces goal 2030' and we are advancing towards this goal smoothly. After acquiring 12 PT-6 trainer in this year, our training fleet will be completed and focus will be solely shifted towards enhancing the combat capability, signs of which are already apparent.Tender submitting of 8 possible Su-35/Mig-35 is only the beginning. After choosing the variant,BAF will surely order large number of combat aircraft in next batches. This is how we do work,at first buy a small number for adjustment then commit in a big way. This is also the case with submarine. At first, acquire old, cheap one for training and building proper infrastructure than go big.Otherwise,it will be like 'putting curt before the horse'.This strategy also generate less controversy in other countries.
