Bengali Nationalism a Threat to Bangladesh's National Security

one of them may be you

in general Bangladeshis, including Bengali and non-Bengali people, have all kinds of lineage - from the West, within what is known as the subcontinent (like current N. India and Pakistan) or outside it (as far as Abyssinia), and not to mention indigenous Hindus, Buddhists, Animists and so on. it's not like every specific family necessarily contains all of this. but in the context of Bangladeshis in general, no one including Indians can deny any of these

agree with the first paragraph except the "Very, very, very, very little and heavily diluted" part. but i am "desperate" about what? and what is supposed to be wrong with the "average "Bengali" look"?
I am definitely not one. But I must say I am one of those who is conflicted. One the one hand I want Bangladesh to be a better Muslim society (as many of us are not good Muslims at all) but on the other, I feel any country that is strictly religious tends to be backward e.g. Afghanistan, where many people still have a medieval outlook. I think you need to strike a balance between religion and the need for progress.

good... but i'm afraid you have some explaining to do
We have two options. We keep the current Bengali and have a secular state or we have a more Islamic state and Arabicise our language more. Keep it Bengali but introduce more Arabic and Persian loan words. We should also change our genetics. We should artificially inseminate many Bangladeshi women with Arab sperm, to try and impregnate them with half Arab kids. We should close our borders all around the country so we don't get any further mixing with undesirables like those in the Northeast of India.

Thanks for all those examples.

BTW where did you pull those percentages from? I am thinking of just one place. ;)

@ " History of the Muslims of Bengal" written by Dr Mohar Ali published in 1985 from Mecca. He was branded as a collobrator by the Awami Leaque Govt.

Mohar Ali was born in 1932 in Khulna in Bengal. Studying at Dhaka University, he obtained a degree in History in 1952 and Masters in 1953. In 1963 he obtained a PhD from SOAS, University of London, and in 1964 studied law at Lincolns Inn, London. Between 1954 and 1976 he worked as a university lecturer in Bengal, becoming a professor, and moved in 1976 to Saudi Arabia to teach Islamic history at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh for 12 years, followed by 7 years of teaching at the Islamic University of Madinah. He worked then as a researcher at King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an in years 1415-16 AH. He also worked at Dhaka University in 1965-69, at the official Historical Document Centre in 1966-71, and the chief editor for the Historical Society magazine. His university tehing career lasted for more than 40 years. Mohar Ali died in London on April 11, 2007.

Professor Ali was a specialist in Islamic history – in particular the history of Bengal. His book, History of the Muslims of Bengal, is considered an important reference in the history of the propagation of Islam in the region and its cultural and political effects. It also deals with the struggle of Bengali Muslims against the British colonial rule, and the Islamic influence on Bengali architecture and literature.

His other books deal with the Islamic rule in India in the 19th century, Islam and the Modern world, the history of the Indian subcontinent, the Bengali reaction to Christian missionaries, in addition to articles in specialist magazines and conference participation in Bangladesh, Pakistan, the UK and the US.

Professor Ali won the King Faisal International Prize For Islamic Studies in 2000.[1]
While most of his books and essays are in English, he has translated Jawhart al-Bukhari from Arabic into Bengali and published a word for word English translation of the Qur'an[2] in addition to Arabic essays such as Orientalists' Claims concerning the Glorious Qur'an.[3]

He has also written books in response to the Orientalists' approach to the biography of Muhammad[citation needed] and their theories about the Qur'an: Sirat Al-Nabi and the Orientalists[4] (1997) and The Qur'an and the Orientalists (2004).[5]

Well most not but there are many syeds in Pakistan who claim arab ancestry even if they are fake. But one thing is i have never seen any Pakistani with AL name, only arabs have that. Bengalis also use similar names, no idea why.

Just having an AL name doesn't make you an Arab

Example,

Al-Amin Hossain.

If Bangladeshis where originally Buddhist then why are all the Bangladeshi Buddhists Mongoloid? also
Fact is that your ancestors where Hindu and nothing can change that. :)

@ Now, finally you have given a very geniune point. It is a point to think ? I myself have not seen any common man as Bhuddist.

@ I think during the time of Pal Dynesty the local people were Bhuddist. Ofcourse Hindus were also there. Infact all of us were first Hindus then when the Pal Dynesty came majority of them became Buddist and continued from 3rd century to 9 century. Then came the Sen dynesty for a short period. These Sen people were very cruel. It is said that the Sen destroyed all the "Bihars" of Bhuddist and killed the religious teachers. Many fled to China, Tibet via Urunachal. Some fled to Burma, Thailand, Philipine etc. Some went to Sri Lanka. Majority of local people remained as it is. They had no religion as in those days no convertee were allowed in Hinduism. Finally they decided to bring young and staut Brahmon from South Deccan. These people were placed inside the Mundir (Temple) for preaching Hinduism. And all local women and girls were ordered to serve those Brahmon. In the process the offspring was declared as legal and can be considered as "Khattra" . These "Mundir" were named as "Sharaen Mondir". These things happened in greater Bogra district controlled from "Mastangarh".

@ In this process slowly and gradually many were taken as low caste in Hindu society. It continued for 2 hundred years. But the local people were not happy. Soon, once the Muslim Saints came and started preaching Islam they gladly accepted Islam. In this way almost all converted to muslim less the original Hindus, Shawsals, tribals etc.

@ I think, the Mongoloid Bhuddist came later some from Tibet, China and some from Burma.Their population is only 5 lacs.

There are many dark Arabs too. Most of the Arabs I have seen have been darker than me, especially those gulf arabs like Saudis and Yemenis.

ITs not just dark skin, its the facial features too. Guy looks like an adivasi from Orissa/Jharkhand, nothing Arab about him.
