The title is changed but not twisted and well according to the article!! BCB wanted some indian players including Sourav Ganguli in BPL who were interested to play but BCCI never responded!! Then they contacted Dada and said that they don't want any indian but only him!! With huge eagerness Dada talked to BCCI to allow him but they refused even though Dada has retired from international cricket!! According to the Indian daily Anandabazar, many indian board officials are afraid if BPL becomes successful, the popularity of IPL will decrease, that's why they are not allowing any indian to play in BPL!!

Bangladesh Premier League is the reject league....its equivalent to watching the CFL instead of the NFL.

Though every such league has money-motive at the back of their head...but overall structure of BPL calls more for the development of cricket. The rule of taking minimum 1 player from the Associate nation is an epitome. Also to make a squad of 18 players unlike 33 in BPL also shows that BPL prefers say more integrity among the players. It was anyway very easy to make a squad of 33 players...but we did not go for it. BPL will take time to get famous like IPL.

And if you are defining quality and fame by the cash involved rather then cricketing improvement...you have some serious problem!


Two honest facts:-

1. BPL will be successful tournament even if no one likes it, given they manage to sell off their tickets. ESPN will love the crowd here undoubtedly.

2. I just watch IPL only because of Shakib and take my words, most Bangladeshi does the same.

Not really A lot of bangladeshis are regional minded.From where i come from, Barisal people thinks khulna people are cheats, Rajshahi people as stupid, sylheti people as backward, dhaka as show-offs and they think chittagongese use too much curry for their meat

Nah its jealousy.

Look, right now indians, from the rajni cup, are playing in our Dhaka Premier league( a 50 overs league). ALmost every team has one or two indians. But when BCB ask for indian participation in the BPL, they cite that they have "domestic duty". Even though there is no domestic competitions apart from the ipl, which starts a month later.
