Bavar-373 long range air defence news and updates

The off-road MAZ TELs of the S-300/400 are 8x8, while the Zoljana TEL is 10x10.

If we assume that the launch tubes of the Bavar-373 are lighter because of the hot-launch.
Hence the Zoljana TEL should be able to carry more load.

This is why there is a possibility that a third tube fits the row in the middle. Now I don't know if its a multi-missile TEL that can also load Sayyad-2/3 in the second row, but a full load of 6 missiles in two rows x 3 missiles, could be the reason for the 10x10 TEL.

They took away the room for wheel articulation. The truck in the previous config was an awesome off roader :(
Possibility of configurable suspension heights?

Zoljana TEL is 8x8

Typo?

I dunno. That space in the centre looks like just some sort of load bearing area. The S-300 TELs have it too, you can see the canisters are staggered.

I hope we see very soon some launching from this beast

@AmirPatriot

Yes that was a typo if you further read the post, it become clear.

A 10x10 TEL compared to a 8x8 TEL suggests either a worse/heavier design or additional missiles as the missiles of the Bavar-373 and S-300/400 are in the same size/weight class.

Just looking at recent cruise missile strikes at Dier Ez Zour in Syria from naval vessel. I curious about whether the Bavar-373 can actually be used as a platform for implementing VLS technology on to Iranian ships. Considering the Bavar is vertically launched, Iran could probably implement a naval configuration for AA defence of vessels. I'm not to sure if this is a stepping stone for it or not but I'd really love to see VLS on Iranian ships. If the bavar can be used as an initial platform for this then I'm really hopefully that we can see the navy moving in this direction. Their is simply not enough firepower a ship can provide to defend itself in the first day of conflict. I hate to say it but most of our surface fleet will simply get annihilated, our naval crews, essentially given a death sentence when deployed. VLS is critical to power projection through both land attack and AA.

I may be wrong, but I thought hot launch VLS on navy ships is dangerous. If you have mechanical failure and the missile explodes while still in the canister or near the ship you could have a catastrophic consequences for the ship.

Where as with cold launch if the missile fails to ignite after being pushed out of the canister by gas, it simply lands in the water next to the ship.

Well, the entire USN is built on hot launch VLS...
Both USN and Russians use hot launched VLS, so probably the rest of the world uses it also. I'm just thinking about implementing vls after bavar-373, if bavar is just a small step away from VLS, or if thier are alot of technical calculations and considerations to complete, and could be a long time away.
