How they can buy/take up lands????
they dont buy them, they attack on the land and sometimes destroy the land or the crops, not all of them are bad people, some of them are very hard working/loving people

Over 2m listed, unlisted Afghans residing in Pakistan: Minister

Islamabad—Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Engineer Shaukat Ullah said that 1.7 million registered and one million unregistered Afghan refugees are residing in Pakistan. The Minister was giving the briefing to the members of diplomatic community and humanitarian organization, to discuss the critical issue of support to Afghan refugees, host countries and Afghanistan. He said three hundred thousand whose registration cards have yet to be renewed and valid for by the end of this year 2012, says a press release here.

Most of these three million people continue to live in conditions which are below poverty levels in regions acknowledged as backward with severe economic constraints. In terms of international support, the maximum provided in 1981-82 was US$ 293.1 million for 3.2 million Afghan refugees. The Afghan refugees received considerable support from friendly countries including Saudi Arabia, USA, Germany, Japan, Italy, UAE in addition to assistance from UN Agencies, mainly, UNHCR and World Food Programme, WHO and UNICEF.

Yet now when we have almost the same number of Afghans in Pakistan, the estimated support is around US$ 11.4 million. If one keeps in view the rate of population growth among the Afghan refugees with 83 thousands people being added each year, the rising rate of inflation and cost of services, the fiscal space for accommodating this vulnerable group has diminished tremendously.

The current economic and security challenges have contributed to the pressure not only on Afghan refugees but also on the host communities, humanitarian organizations as well as governments. As a consequence, we are constrained to draw the international community’s attention to the old and increasingly serious issue of Afghan refugees at this stage.

In the recent past, we have witnessed major initiatives in relation to the situation in Afghanistan. These are expected to continue until there is stability in the region. With a major component of the Afghan population residing in neighboring countries, amicable solution of the Afghan refugees issue is crucial for stability in the region. This was acknowledged during the past year when the Governments of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan gathered for the first time with the assistance of UNHCR to convene the International Stakeholders Conference which is now scheduled to be held in May, this year.

The Stakeholders Conference will be a unique opportunity for Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan to present to the world a comprehensive picture of the refugee issue as its effects this region and to present new and innovative solutions that require the support of the international community. The Stakeholders Conference will be proof of a global commitment to unify in order to tackle serious global issues such as the protracted refugee issue of this region, and Pakistan is eager and proud to be an integral part of this process.—APP

WTF!!! Why you people don't kick the a$$ of these aggressors
we do all we can and neither do we get government's help, its not only happening in this region, stuff like this is common as u go up north, they also build their homes on government's and the government never finds out about or government just doesnt care.

the place is the same --- minus the so-called ancestors

and hopefully Afghanistan will stabilize so that the illegals who take up local jobs will also be minused as well --not that i have anything against Afghans. They are also Muslims. But this refugees influx over a span of YEARS (this is no new phenomenon)has had a real socio-economic cost. Even in Peshawar and encroachments in Rawalpindi you find them.

most are just displaced people seeking safety and shelter...some are hardened criminals, drug dealer, etc.

Not Some but many of them are criminals kidnappers ..Kidnapping people from Peshawar and other parts of KPK.And after collecting money from them they go there.I my self arrested one Kidnapper from that Afghani Camps with the help of KPK Police.who wa also involved in my cousin killing.

Good - Now it's clear to me, why our government is unable to send them back. These Ba$$tards are looking for aid to fill their pockets  Is there any cure for AID :hitwall:

We should gone the Iranian route, where they kept the afghans in controlled areas and didn't allow them to roam around the country.
We wouldn't have as many problems as we do now if we did that, but the government of Pakistan cares nothing about Pakistan.

These Afghans have created a lot of trouble in urban cities as well. In Karachi they took over my uncle's plot in Gulshan e Maymar thankfully my uncle knew some people and got his plot back. They have also been causing a lot of trouble in Gulistan e Jauhar. My dad owns an apartment there and the neighbouring building has been illegally occupied by these scumbags, thankfully we have sold that apartment now.

Dear should/would is past now - I didn't had idea that their crime ratio is that much high. We must pressurize the government to at-least deport criminals.

The government is not going to care as long as they keep getting money into their pockets.

Pakistan can be burning, yet as long they get the $$$$ it won't make a difference to them.

illegal migrants must be expelled. there can be no two opinions on that.

on Battagram, that appears to be an ancient town. any kashmiri will testify that batta means pandit/brahmin in sanskrit/kashmiri.

i have discovered tha Kehva is drunk in Pakistan too. Do the afgans drink it ? I once saw a video of OBL and he too had a glass of greenish looking tea. I wonder what other food is shared.
