Bangladesh’s electricity generation crosses 10,000MW for first time

Just google the load shedding news in both country in the last one year, you will get an impression. In urban areas of BD, load shedding is minimal. In rural areas, no more than 2-3 hours average, in some place less than this and some places more. For Pakistan, even Karachi experience 8-12 hours load shedding.
Parts of Karachi facing load-shedding of upto 12 hours

Severe winter requires actually more electricity than hot summer. In those countries, central heating is the compulsory part of the home. And it requires a lot of electricity. With winter running for 6-8 months, you can guess the amount of electricity requirement to warm the house in a single year.Second biggest is the extensive use of AC in hot summer countries. You should compare per capita electricity consumption figure for Singapore with those of Canada, Norway, Saudi Arabia UAE. All of these countries are highly developed, but see Singapore's electricity consumption vary how much with other countries in the list.A hint: Singapore is called perpetual spring country.

In BD, Central heating is not required and uses of AC also less compared to very hot summer country like Pakistan.
lol it clearly says "parts" of Karachi not whole Karachi and even these are the parts where people dont pay bills and FYI there is zero load shedding in Pakistan now where people pays 100% bills.........

All load shedding involve a part of city and not the entire city. Please say something new that we do not know. With so much of power production, Pakistan has so much of load shedding. But, it is a crime to say of load shedding in BD where the installed capacity is only 16,000 mW with an actual production of only 10,000 mW.

lol still no proof of claim that Pakistan have more load shedding then mighty Bangladesh:enjoy:

another weird logic

i live in karachi.karachi suffering from load shedding in areas where revenue collection is low.otherwise load shedding has been improved.

This is the summery of power generation in 11 June, 2018 taken from PDB website(last 11 year's daily data can be found there). This page shows day peak generation, evening peak generation, Maximum generation as well as total generation. How much fuel consumed for that day's generation. Division wise demand can be seen here. entire Barishal division(pop. 8 million) has only 202 MW electricity demand and supply.:what: While Dhaka(pop. 38 million) and Chattogram division(pop. 13 million) has the largest per capita demand and supply.

While Pakistans needs and generations is twice: Electricity Generation crosses 20,000 MW in Pakistan:

Well when it comes to total energy consumption per capita, Bangladeshis are today still not consuming what Pakistan consumed 50+ years ago....so of course Pakistan electricity needs and demands are far different.

BD is behind many countries in the production of power. Today, the real power production in BD is about 10,000 MW. It may take another 10 years to raise the output to 20,000 MW, the same as Pakistan production today. It is taking time no doubt. But, it is also true that we are progressing quite fast in this sector.

However, I must say with all its mountains, valleys, and fast flowing rivers, Pakistan should have done better. But, instead of building the power infrastructure it spends on things without a production value. On the contrary, Bd is doing its utmost to improve the situation with very minimum resources at its disposal.

Bangladesh’s electricity generation crosses 11,000MW for first time
EB Report

Power generation crossed a milestone of 11,000 megawatts for the first time in Bangladesh.
The Power Development Board or PDB said Bangladesh generated 11,059MW of electricity around 9pm on Satarday.
“Power generation has been increasing for the last few days,” said PDB spokesman Md Saiful Islam.
The demand for power generation was also 11,000 MW at that point in time.
“This could be load shedding, or technical glitch that caused power failure during that time,” said Islam.
