BSF shot dead teenagers trying to exfilterate to Pakistan

Jammu-kashmir.jpg

AMRITSAR: Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead two teen aged boys in the wee hours of Friday while they were trying to illegally cross over to Pakistan from Indo-Pak international border near Amritsar.

The preliminary investigations suggests that both of them are Bangladeshi Muslims. Rupees five hundred and a watch have been recovered from one of them.

Giving details of the incident BSF inspector general (frontier) Himmat Singh told TOI that a patrolling party of BSF spotted some suspicious movements in a mustard field near BSF's Mullankot Border Outpost (BOP), about four and half kilometer north of Attari international border, at around 1 AM on Friday.

BSF jawan's challenged them to stop but they ignored the warning and instead ran towards the border fence and one of them even managed to cross the fence following which BSF opened fire and shot both of them dead said he.

A slip written in Bangla language had been recovered from them besides a watch and Rs 500 which makes BSF believe that the persons who were trying to exfilterate from India to Pakistan were Bangladeshi nationals said he while adding that further investigations were on progress.

He said many Bangladeshi nationals often illegally try to cross over to Pakistan in search of better living condition and work in a Muslim country or to live with their relatives largely settled in and around Karachi. Mostly these people fall pray to the human traffickers who brings them to Amritsar from Kolkota by train , take them near the international border , shows them the border fence and ask them to cross the fence at night , But they are either captured or shot dead if they ignore the BSF's warnings.

. . .
So, BSF should have allowed 'them' to cross-over???

No, BSF troops should not have imagined them as bearded fanatics. They should have approached them and arrested them. But, BSF troops always panick in both the BD-India and Pakistan-India borders and shoot because they are worried about being shot.

They were warned and challenged first. Good on BSF for protecting our borders. There is serious problems of drugs along on India-Pak border in Punjab regioin. There have been few incidents of fire fight between smuglers and BSF. Stop whinnig like sissies and stop you nationals from from crossing tense India - Pak border.

Bangladeshi have a habit of crossing broder it seems. Now what are they doing near Pakistan?

Everyone knows what a broder is and should be well aware of the consequences of cross it.

If we shoot them nothing wrong in that, if they were arrest that is good luck to them.

Would request my bd bro's to read this before replying to any troll or intellectuals......

Slip written in Bangla does not confirm they were Bangladeshi, there are millions bengali speaking muslims in india. It is quite possible that an indian muslim wanted to go beyond the border(religious festivals, illegal activity bla bla)....

The two were merely victims of illegal traffickers and no one blames them (bsf never kill the criminals as it seems).

Lastly this news ain't confirmed so don't bother.

EU strikes deal to send irregular migrants back to Turkey

Brussels/Athens - The European Union has finalized a deal allowing it to send irregular migrants back to Turkey, the bloc's executive said on Thursday.

Turkey has become a major transit route for people from Afghanistan, Pakistan and India trying to enter the EU via Greece, which has been struggling to handle the pressure.

'The final adjustments to the draft EU Readmission Agreement with Turkey were agreed and the negotiation has now come to its end,' EU Home Affairs commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom said in a statement.

EU officials said the agreement would cover both Turkish nationals and third-country citizens that have entered the EU via Turkey with no permit to stay in an EU member state.

However, in line with international agreements, asylum-seekers and refugees are to be exempted, officials stressed.

Malmstrom said the outcome 'is very balanced and will contribute greatly to the effective management of irregular migration in the region.'

EU interior ministers are expected to give their formal approval to the deal at their next regular meeting, scheduled for February 24 in Brussels.

But entry into force of the agreement is conditional to the European Parliament also giving its nod.

Signing readmission agreements is one of the conditions the EU imposes on countries wishing to gain visa-free access to its Schengen border-free zone - a stated objective of Turkey.

In reference to this, Malmstrom talked of an 'important development (that) also opens up new perspectives to further foster our cooperation with Turkey in the area of visa policy.'

Greece, which is the destination for tens of thousands of illegal immigrants each year, welcomed the news, saying it hoped Turkey would follow through with its end of the agreement.

'We hope that this agreement will help put into effect potential measures to help stop illegal immigration,' said Greek Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Grogoris Delaverkouras.

Greece has long accused Turkey of failing to make a real effort to stop the large wave of illegal immigrants entering Greece and ignoring an agreement to accept the return of detained migrants.

The Ministry of Civil Protection has said that only 10 per cent of all illegal immigrants are accepted back by Turkey.

Athens is considering using floating prisons and old army bases to house undocumented migrants as the latest measures in an effort to control a flood of illegal immigrants.

Greece says about 128,000 immigrants arrived in the country illegally last year, the highest for any European Union member state.

The government has also announced plans to build a 12.5-kilometre fence along the section of Greece's north-eastern border with Turkey that has become Europe's busiest transit point for illegal immigrants.

In November, the EU's border protection agency Frontex sent a 200- member force from 25 EU countries to the Greek-Turkish border areas to provide Greece with emergency assistance. The deployment has been extended for three months, through March 3.
