the word hindustan was only used in middle east to describe subcontinent the same way the word india was used in west andthe word Tianzhu used in the east asia while the habitants of subcontinent used to call it bharata

Note even the Bengali of west Bengal differentiate themselves from other parts of north India by calling themselves Bangali, but others as Hindustani. It is something like we Bangali and them Hindustani. Anyway, I accept your opinion. Yes, in the central asia to ME the land was called Hindustan. However, I think the common Indian people call it still Hindustan.

so i didnt get your point even we marathis in maharastra differentiate our self from others by calling our self marathi and others as Uttar Bharatiya (north indians mostly for bhojpuris and biharis), punjabis, tamils, bengalis etc

Nope mostly its India(70%) then its Bharat or Hindustan.

I don't know which Bengalis u have meet but i never meet a single Indian who identifies himselves as a Bengali, Punjabi, Gujrati, etc. while calling other Indians as Hindustani....

For an Indian being a Punjabi, Marwadi or Gujarati is a part of being an Indian(Hindustani) n people don't make distinction between the two...

No offense to anyone but this is how the thread is going as I see it- first it was congratulation, well wishes for everyone around. Then some Pak members started saying you can't, lets compare, ( by the wasy I was only waiting for that senior joker to give me a proper reply), and now then I saw the toilet competetion. what a dick measuring contest, I am out of here. Cheers fellows carry on.

Its nice to see Bangladeshi Economy progress, As a muslim and S.Asian I'm happy for them and as a Pakistani I'm bit disappointed from conditions that we are facing presently, With WOT, Corruption, Energy crisis, Natural disasters, etc I left to dream that Pakistan can ever bounce back again.:frown:

That's the best news coming out from this region so far. An economically strong BD will be a boon for trade in the South Asian region as a whole.

Pakistan needs to get its act together fast if it has to join the club. South Asia could then beat the EU in the near future. But then, SAARC has nothing to cheer about so far. We need a paradigm shift in our thought processes and stop talking at each other but rather to each other.

some pakistanis started comparing BD and pakistan and then some pakistani came and commented how Indians are laughing at both of them followed by toilets and open defecation and ZERO infrastructure and what not !!

SAARC is still miles behind EU dear....
Other than land disputes, water disputes n trust deficit the trade volume as well as the economic size is terribly low in comparision to EU

But yes an FTA among SAARC nations will be first building block for a future EU type structure in South Asia...
