Dont know! Never tried...
I had various kinds from all the big three in the region...
srilankan ... (best without milk)
Indian... (overall it’s good with or without milk but isn’t as special as the srilankan variety)
Bangladeshi (best with milk... too strong for without

I never visited india...

Really ? Wow mate looks like you're the exception to the rule.. You must a well heeled Bangladeshi then.. :enjoy:

Well I can tell you that Bangladeshis maybe as big a spender as Pakistanis in most cases but they are also smart shoppers. Take for example buying clothing during Eid when most of them will go overseas to shop.

The entire retail economy of Calcutta is dependent on Bangladeshi shoppers.. Calcutta's economy would be in serious dire straits if not for Bangladeshi shoppers and tourists. More well-heeled Bangladeshi shoppers will fly directly to Bangkok or Singapore to shop

Try it out when your in Singapore and Bangkok next.. Both places have famous tea house's run by a chain named Dilmah specializing in Ceylon tea.. :D

Im poor. But, I will try...

BTW, seems like you had good experiences in Bang-kok...:P

Unlike Bangladesh Pakistan is still not stable we have many issues to deal with such as corrupt leaders, terrorsm and regional rivalry but i believe in long run when finally Pakistan is over with these problem Pakistan has more potential to grow compared Bangladesh.
This is your blind optimism I think, Although I can not say whether Pakistan or Bangladesh will settle with more prosperity in a long run, but if history is any guide, then Bengal region should regain the position as the most prosperous region in South Asia.Bengal was always a land of bountiful crops and crafts as well as a thriving center of maritime trade and commerce. Those advantage is still here and will remain so in future.Bangladesh is sitting in a region surrounded by very populous and fast growing economy. We only need to increase the communication with them.
Bangladesh will reach a saturation state within 2-3 decades but PK has the potential to be among the top 10 economies Post 2050.
Again another vague claim. Why do you think Bangladesh will reach saturation point within 2-3 decades? And what will propel Pakistan beyond that?

NO. Im just another poor Bangladeshi trying hard to break into the top 10%

Oh don’t they all go to Culcutta then ? Mate I bet you’re depriving the economy of Culcutta a major chunk by not shopping there :-)

BTW, seems like you had good experiences in Bang-kok...:P

Vast majority people in Bangladesh never gone to India. Going to India is most common among Hindu Bangladeshi(they have many extended relatives in India due to partition legacy), traders, medical or some general tourists. Most of the Bangladeshi who go to India are regular visitors there like above mentioned group, while vast majority never set foot in that country.

Tried it... it’s okay

The entire retail economy of Calcutta is dependent on Bangladeshi shoppers shopping during that season for jewelry and clothing because Indian items are _cheap_ compared to buying in Dhaka. What Calcutta shopkeepers cannot do in retail business all year, they make up for it in Eid seasons from Bangladeshi shoppers. Calcutta's economy would be in serious dire straits if not for Bangladeshi shoppers and tourists.
@Bilal9 bhai exactly.
And in Eid market even lots of the shop keepers of border districts go to west Bengal and buy cheaper cloths ( as part of their Eid selling stock) so they can sell with greater profit.

Economy of West Bengal is heavily dependant on us, and pdf indians love to ignore it.
But surely calculate shop keepers know this very well .

Note here that, Pakistan achieved per capita GDP PPP 12 years ago of what Bangladesh achieved just by now! Before 2009, Pakistan's GDP per capita was even higher than India for all along. So some of the things which Pakistan is much ahead of BD or even India, can be realized from these data. Average Pakistani's asset value is twice of a Bangladeshi, it is even higher than an Indian. Reflecting the previous comparative prosperity of Pakistanis. Although both Indians and Bangladeshis are closing this asset gap quickly due to faster rise of per capita GDP, still it will take few years for Indians and a longer time for Bangladesh(15 years at least) to achieve parity with Pakistan. For this same reason Pakistan's household electricity connection and ownership of some other household durable and non durable goods is more than Bangladesh or India. On naked eyes, Pakistan looks much prosperous country than Bangladesh or even in some cases than India. Pakistan's road infrastructure development is also much ahead of Bangladesh and only recently India catched up with them. So although we are touching Pakistan in per capita GDP within next few years, but it will take some more year to reflect that closing on the ground.

Spot on with this post.

This is what we call "cumulative wealth" that butt-hurt Pakistanis fail to understand. They keep talking about how BD cannot buy consumer goods on the same per capita as Pakistan but not smart enough to understand this concept.

I think that BD will equal Pakistani asset value by 2030 and then it will start leaping ahead dramatically quickly. Right now there is a 3% difference in GDP/capita growth in favour of BD and I expect it to be maintained that way as both countries growth rate picks up 1-2% from the current rates. Pakistan will get more growth from CPEC and BD will do the same from better infrastructure and the production/output from the SEZs.

But Indian economy is a giant compared to what bd is... in Indian subcontinent... yes bd is doing better than most but I believe this growth is mainly due to the current size, investment opportunities etc... if we can maintain current growth when our gdp reaches india’s Current gdp value should be the question.

Impossible for BD to maintain it's 7-8% growth when it hits India's current size.
4-5% a year growth at that size would be good.
