Featured Bangladesh seeks UN Security Council action over Myanmar’s troops mobilized near border

Muslims have no caste dummy....

A muslim prays their kids become PM of a muslim country that has given them refuge.... nothing unusual and only in your sick mind you think this would cause outrage in the muslims of BD. Rohingyas came here as a result of violence by buddhist scums, they are welcome unlike you who is against Bangladesh. You need to go back to whence you came.
Wait a second. Speaking against Rohingya means speaking against Bangladesh? Are you for real?

It's not about muslim or non muslim. Common Bangladeshis are fed up with the Rohingya.

Also stop using religious label. Rohingyas are not the only muslim group in Myanmar. There are Panthay, Bamar muslims too, even they hate Rohingyas. I have seen a facebook status of a Chinese muslim living in Myanmar who said that they don't like Rohingyas because of their wrongdoings.

Also don't forget there are lot of Rohingya hindus too who have equally been forced out so this is not a religious war.

What you’re saying is incredibly racist and I don’t talk with pigs like you. Your opinion on these matters have been questionable until you justified Burmese actions with rohynga crimes. F yourself
Burmese are not killing them because of their religion. Burmese troops also kill Shan, Kachin, Rakhine etc who are Buddhists and Christians. So there is nothing anti islamic about Rohingya campaign. These Rohingya have been using religion to get support from OIC, Bangladesh, Saudi and Pakistan.

This is all because Bangladesh did not respond militarily to the previous Rohingya Refugees crises, it has emboldened Myanmar.

It's Bangladesh's own fault. Despite having such a large population, it has survived on such a weak and outdated military to defend it's borders with or to deter any potential aggressors.

All that focus on economic growth at the expense of military modernisation is now costing Bangladesh.

Bangladesh now needs to prepare for a long-term headache with Myanmar and when it is totally pre-occupied in that front, expect the Hindu Extremist Indian Government to pull some kind of a stunt (Akhand Bharat) on Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is no position to confront Myanmar's JF-17 fighters. Even Indian SU-30MKI could not handle JF-17 fighters.

There's more to war than what planes you use, and that's just aerial warfare but okay Arm Chair General.

We dare not go up against 10th generation invisible fighter aircraft.

Nor do we want to go to war with Myanmar, our national priorities are different, we do not seek to join the league of pariah states.

Your not so distinguished opinion is noted even though it's wholly inconsequential.

Move along.

Keep improving economy and development as best as possible.

Talk to China behind closed doors as you said. If China wants, Myanmar can be kept in inline.

Engage the US and the West, as I don't think Bangladesh can fully trust either China or India. (And of course the West)

I think the threat from Myanmar is being underappreciated.

Buy weapons and nurture relationships with China, US, UK/EU, and Turkey.

More of the above are needed.
Yes but I think the way things are unfolding in the neighborhood of BD and around the world...BD can no longer neglect the military and focus solely on improving its economy as it was able to in the past.

At least a couple billion dollars will have to be diverted towards defense needs every year...
...yes COVID19 has caused economic slowdown...and yes BD can still use the money spent on defense for its ppl instead. However...time is running out.

The situation with Myanmar is already tense. A war between Myanmar and BD would destroy both countries...in manpower, resources, etc. A strong military can keep them at bay.

Instead of air defense...I would recommend fighter jets first. Yes SAM systems are great too...but without a strong airforce they are far less effective. Fighter jets on the other hand can be used for attack and defense. BD can't splurge money on everything all at once...it would have to be in phases...and thus it needs to be prioritized. IMO first focus on airforce...a strong airforce can become the strength for the army and navy. A single engine jet that can carry a decent payload would be economical(operating cost) and do the job just fine. In that case J10 or F16 fit the role perfectly...just depends on which side BAF would prefer to deal with. At least two squadrons if not more...should be the first step.

There is an easier way to snub Myanmar and keep them there permanently.

It's called proper border policing, Myanmar makes more money through the illicit trade of Yaba (a type of methamphetamine) than they make by whatever it is that their minnow economy exports.

Bangladesh is the biggest market for this Yaba and its sister drug Pepe (green and white colour version - called Pepe because it looks like the inside of a papaya - Pepe).

Our border force has corrupt officials at the very top and this has been proved many times, while they do not hesitate to protect national sovereignty, they look the other way when it comes to drug trade, busting a few caches here and there only to provide a false picture.

The moment we fence our border, clean out the rats who facilitate the drug trade, Myanmar's defence spending gets slammed.

Make no mistake, all the money from Yaba smuggling goes to the tatmadaw, their army not only runs entire production facilities but they also facilitate it's trafficking to Bangladesh with the help of their buddies the Rohingya drug peddlers.

Cut off the money, Cut off their head and be done with it.

Myanmar's defence spending piggy backs on Bangladesh's economy, we must stop the drug trade now at this very instant.

Myanmar will pose no threat to Bangladesh beyond this decade, as our defence spending grows alongside the burgeoning economy they will fade away into nothingness because we will simply out procure them in every facet of defence hardware.

Our national budget is already larger than their entire GDP.

All in all, this decade we must not falter, not give Myanmar what it wants; A War, we must cut off their revenue stream, keep it that way and wait for time to pass.

A War ruins our economy, put us back in poverty, we stand to lose economic and developmental momentum, it hurts us more than them because they only care for themselves while we have a nation of 160+ million to feed.

On the other hand, a war pulls all the warring parties in Myanmar together against the big bad 'Black' Rohingya Muslim.

Burmese are some of the most racist and xenophobic people on the planet, If you do not believe me open two tabs; Google translate and any Burmese man's Facebook account, I guarantee there will be atleast one post about their sandal clad super power army with some caption and comments about beating the 'black ones back'. Hell, they even subtitle our military TVCs and obsess over war with us.

On the long term Myanmar is no threat to Bangladesh, Myanmar is a failed state and will eventually disintegrate into a flurry of tribal gun toting war lords.

UNSC....   They will do nothing. UN is a mess right now.

. . . . . .
your head is so deep up in your racist a** that you don't even realize u being racist
You are living in a Air conditioned room and giving big lectures on humanity. Talk to the local people who are living in Cox's Bazaars and Teknaf and you will understand the truth.

You might be one of those nutjobs who wanted to marry Rohingya women and provide them with Bangladeshi citizenship back in 2017.
