Featured Bangladesh seeks UN Security Council action over Myanmar’s troops mobilized near border

once upon a time when bongs the sons of syed jafar ali the "khan bahadur" the original mujeeb rehman --in search of ways to please the new masters-- were killing Pakistanis or handing them over to street-shitting pajeets, myanmar was trying to save them (along with helping to keep a few other things out of gungoo hands
I'm aware of the history sir...but then again...we can either keep defining the future based on the past...and find thousands of reasons to continue hating each other...

OR

try and build a better future.

Past is the past...nothing can change that...but enough time has passed that healing can begin. Otherwise almost all groups of humans have done something wrong to other groups of humans since the stone age...rewind the clock far back enough and we all can find a reason to continue the cycle of hate.

I believe in action more than the words .

First let China annex the chicken neck and then we will ask them to stop favouring Myanmar completely. If still they will keep supporting Myanmar, we will choose USA block, not before it !

But this process isn't as easy as you are thinking. Chicken neck is the only way for india to control north east , and they will hold it for themselves at any cost. It looks you are under estimating the enemy!8-)
bro dollar for dollar, india will lose... china just have to make india broke, it's like how it's impossible for either pakistan or bangladesh to win a long term war with india

Wait a second. Speaking against Rohingya means speaking against Bangladesh? Are you for real?

It's not about muslim or non muslim. Common Bangladeshis are fed up with the Rohingya.

Also stop using religious label. Rohingyas are not the only muslim group in Myanmar. There are Panthay, Bamar muslims too, even they hate Rohingyas. I have seen a facebook status of a Chinese muslim living in Myanmar who said that they don't like Rohingyas because of their wrongdoings.

Also don't forget there are lot of Rohingya hindus too who have equally been forced out so this is not a religious war.

I do care what others in thinks about the rohingya in burma. Totally irrelevant.

In bangladesh i also do not care about someones religion or background. Everyone should be equal under law and should be able to rise to any position as their merit allows.

It is you who bought religion into in. If you are claiming to be BD and have more affinity for our enemies.... you should leave and join them.

As for the rohingya they are muslim, BD is a muslim country, we have a moral obligation to protect them and they have every right to expect to be treated as any other muslim in a muslim country. Again if this is a problem for you...leave.

.
Listen Barua Magi, dont get your panties all twisted. All of us in PDF knows that your kind is jealous that rohingya gets more attention and better treatment not only in bangladesh but also internationally.

But anyway bangladesh is for bengalis, not your traitorous kind.

@DalalErMaNodi @Atlas
Look at this kafir, its ok for him to love burmese buddhist despite the fact that they are committed genocide but its a crime for anyone to give support to the rohingya muslims who has been targeted by terrorist monks.
I generally avoid reading his messages. He always played played trick when the case was Myanmar.

And for such people , everyone in Bangladesh is jamati . So I think we have no reason to give them importance ,such people like him don't deserve any attention from us.

People who support genocide should be ignored in a forum and should be under criminal law in real life . I want 5-7 years of jail for such criminal minded people.

Yes but I think the way things are unfolding in the neighborhood of BD and around the world...BD can no longer neglect the military and focus solely on improving its economy as it was able to in the past.

At least a couple billion dollars will have to be diverted towards defense needs every year...
...yes COVID19 has caused economic slowdown...and yes BD can still use the money spent on defense for its ppl instead. However...time is running out.

The situation with Myanmar is already tense. A war between Myanmar and BD would destroy both countries...in manpower, resources, etc. A strong military can keep them at bay.

Instead of air defense...I would recommend fighter jets first. Yes SAM systems are great too...but without a strong airforce they are far less effective. Fighter jets on the other hand can be used for attack and defense. BD can't splurge money on everything all at once...it would have to be in phases...and thus it needs to be prioritized. IMO first focus on airforce...a strong airforce can become the strength for the army and navy. A single engine jet that can carry a decent payload would be economical(operating cost) and do the job just fine. In that case J10 or F16 fit the role perfectly...just depends on which side BAF would prefer to deal with. At least two squadrons if not more...should be the first step.

Yes I agree with you completely.

Myanmar is an underappreciated threat.

Indian attempts at regional hegemony is ever present.

Bangladesh can not focus on economy alone anymore.

BAF needs a serious upgrade.

Which is why I don't understand the delay in obtaining new fighters.

But if you remember our conversation from nearly 2 years ago, this is not the Bangladesh of old.

Western options are real.

The US is knocking on the door.

Perhaps, shifting politics is the reason for the delay.

Either way, you are correct, Bangladesh is not in a sleepy docile neighborhood anymore.

Though u may be correct and BD may be looking for western stuff...
...my main point is that time is running out quickly.

If BD orders F16 Block 70 today...it will be at least a year or two before deliveries begin(there are other countries in line). Then there's the training and setting up the infrastructure for basic maintenance. By the time BAF is fully familiarized to the point that it can effectively keep the jets in flying conditions and be effective against a foe...it will be another 5 years on top of getting the jets delivered. So u see...BD should have jumped on military build up a while back...still though...this should be the eye opener.

The above is one of the primary reasons I mentioned J10. BAF can have it delivered faster. Another reason is long term planning...like for example BD working on its own various datalinks. Chinese will be far more willing to include(at a later point when the datalink is ready and the jets need MLU or something) indigenous BD datalink than US doing so on F16s. Lastly and more importantly...this order could be used as one of the things to get China to put pressure on Myanmar into de-escalating the situation at the border.

@doorstar btw if there's any confusion as to the point I'm getting at...
...the gist of my posts here is that a strong BD military will prevent war before it begins. I don't hold any animosity against Myanmar. As per OP...situation is getting tense between BD/Myanmar...my hope is that a needless war could be avoided...and wars cannot be avoided by being soft and nice...only power deters it to an extent.

I agree time is passing and not much seems to be done in terms of BAF procurement.

Any Western option will take longer to induct.

In the end, the politics are gonna determine what will be bought.

It seems as if Bangladesh is going the way of UK, Turkey and China.

We all are waiting to see what 16 MRCA the President was referring to earlier this year.

@DalalErMaNodi @X-ray Papa

Look how common Bangladesh perceives these Rohingyas. Now you decide.

Listen Hrithik,
The common bangladeshis dont like rohingyas due to serveral reasons, that does not mean we hate them and want to kill them unlike your people in burma.

My name ain't hrithik. I am not a Barua dude. My name is Bijon Chakma. I am using this account since 2018 and once revealed my name to one Bangladeshi I don't think he's active.

Listen the Burmese Generals will never take the Rohingyas, the Bangladesh army will also not fight Burma, Bangladesh's foreign policy is a complete joke, Moreover, No muslim country, not even the defenders of Islam like Pakistan and Saudi Arabian are interested to solve this conflict or ready to share land with the Rohingyas.

Bangladesh is now in a serious trouble. It is a matter of years now when the Rohingya population will reach 5 million or so then good luck with sheltering them till eternity.
