Bangladesh sacrifices UNSC candidacy to support Japan

Mate Hindustani is not a recognised language in either India or Pakistan. Your argument does not stand. Both Indian and Pakistani gov along with the rest of the world consider them separate languages for 'all intents and purposes'
if you are talking about general everyday conversation(not urdu poetry).. most north Indians can understand urdu and pakistanis can understand hindi.
Here if I have to talk to a pakistani (say a random person asking direction or me ordering food in pakistani takeaway) it might start with English but many times we (one of us) switch to hindi/urdu.
I have even used hindi to talk to some afgans(If I realize they are uncomfortable with English) and I think they understand more than 70-80 percent of what I am saying.

.
Nope. It is widely agreed that Urdu/Hindi or more neutrally called the Hindustani language is mutually intelligible and for all intents and purposes is the same language. The only major diff is the script, but then we do not write to interact with others, we speak! So my argument still stands

Dude I'm a Pakistani (Baluch not punjabi).. But lemme tell you tht most Pakistanis are most likely to "hang on" with eachother ... Than guys from gujrat..

For ex .. If I don't find a Pakistani (irrespective of his ethnicity)... N there are 2 Indians one from gujrat the other from Punjab .. It's most likely tht i will befriend the punjabi with whose culture I'm a little familiar with rather than the stranger aka gujrati.. With whom I share nothing..

Coming back to the Urdu speaking community ... Not all of em are Urdu speakers.. But mostly from different parts of northern india ... It's after 47 that they formed a distinct identity..

Regardless of whose airline it is, this just goes to show Airbus superiority. It can carry more than it's registered to and that in a very unaerodynamic position while keeping fuel consumption low. :)

I have the opportunity to meet Indians in Japan. They are not fit to work in the factory floors because they are physically weak. Is it not because they do not eat protein as much as their body would require. So, they prefer less rigorous kitchen jobs in the restaurants.

I wonder how India is far more industrialized than Bangladesh!! :-)

Mother india.....lol....what fcuk has mother india got to do with us? It's your mother not ours, China and Japan are one of our biggest trading partners and by far our two biggest investors, so what does our relations with either got to do with india?

Oh there are other sayings:

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" and then there's "with friends like india who needs enemies".

Bold should be made an official saying.

You just do not know the rigors in a Japanese work place or a factory. Because some Indians work in their local factories, it does not mean they can survive in a Japanese one. High level of efficiency, punctuality and quality control are what is needed in those factories.

BD people have been in Japan for a long time. Many are half educated and many worked in the farmland in BD. These guys are very hard working. They eat high protein food and work to the satisfaction of Japanese employers. I have seen very few Indians are interested in those dirty and hard works. So, most of them chose kitchen work in Indian restaurants. Even many of them are not fit to work in the Japanese kitchen.

Well , how could any self respecting leader of country sell the right to caste vote in UN council , which decides on so many vital international issues ?

Really sad , to rob Bangali people a chance to impact global political decisions and raise awareness of Bangali people's position in international politics

But ...Money does buys .... stuff as they say ....

5-6 Billion is the going price for UN council seat it seems

Agree with you about the importance of a UNSC seat, it not only enhances the position of a country globally but also the financial institutions like World Bank, IMF become more interested to invest on those countries. However, the candidacy has not been "sold" actually, it's rather a good will gesture from Bangladesh to Japan. For various reasons, we have lost significant diplomatic strength in recent times, hence there was no chance of winning the seat.

As for Japanese investments in Bangladesh, it's part of their "China plus one" policy and the "Bay of Bengal Industrial Growth Belt" initiative.
